DC penalty :/

Yall think the DC penalties should be more severe it's too easy to just leave a bad games immediately and go next

it's 1 minute :/

meanwhile 3 of us are stuck with 5 gens and basically in most case an unwinnable game that we can either play to no avail, get a mercy win, or just afk till we die.

the last 5 games i've had 2 of them had insta DC's cause they had lethal, found them, down them within 30 seconds.

Some games have it so you can't start a new game till the game you left finishes they should add that or just make the DC timer longer for first offenders because 1min:/ idk honestly makes me want to DC with a timer that short rather leave myself than play some unwinnable game.

given the amount of players in this game and alot of them knowing the penalty everyone getting a freebie DC on a daily basis makes it quite common place.

I think although there are other deeper issues a good start would be to deter DCing by either increasing the inital penalty to 3 minutes or make it so that they can start till the old match finishes OR instead of increasing the time make it so that the penalty ramping up does not reset so fast maybe a few days or a week before it goes back to 1 minute penalty.

What do you guys think does that seem like a good idea??

I don't ever see the DC problem go away, my hope is that they will fix it through reworking game mechanics, eg. having a bot survivor replace the person who left, or making the 3v1 less unwinnable for survivors (which would also partially fix tunneling).

yeah, i think a bot would be so much better than what we have now, still have a penalty but also give us a bot to at least do a gen or take up some killer time, right now someone can DC straight away and then the other 3 are pretty much screwed

After 2 DC's the penalty should be so severe that the person cannot play for the rest of the day - Furthered by increasing penalties if the trend persists.

I don't care if a bot replaces the person or not. The moment a pattern is established that player is a bad-faith actor who is single-handedly ruining games, they should not be permitted to continue.

This is such a simple, effective solution! The bot replacement at the very least. Auto completing one gen when someone DCs early would also level the playing field and keep the game competitive.

Think players that DC often should be put in the same lobbies.

This is just the best solution, like the griefer lobbies in GTAV.

It's a hard call. On the one hand I HATE people who ragequit out of dbd, wothout backfilling, one early DC kills the game stone dead. Killer quitiing obvs literally ends the match immediately but even a surv who leaves in the first 2-5 mins practically guarentees a killer win.

But legitimate DCs do happen, I have a swf mate who has the odd power outage and my internet has been known to drop out from time to time. And I don't think people should be unfairly punished for that.

Tbh though those are rare occurrences, I'd be willing to bet that 90-95% of DCs are ragequits. And if someone legitimately DCs on a regular basis, the onus should be on them to fix their internet instead of ruining dbd games constantly.
