Furin add-on change?
What is the fix for the furin addon mentioned in today’s patch notes? Is it gonna fix the occasional « Silent » phasing noise that some players complain about ( haven’t had the silent phasing happen to me as a survivor going against a spirit running it ) or is it fixing the omnidirectional audio cue happening when Spirit approaches a survivor from outside a survivor’s terror radius? Or is it referring to oblivious status effects not making the affected survivor/s hear the directional audio cue?
i’m a bit lost so a clarification would be great.

You mean this?

Yes :)

I opened the game and the add-on description still says the phasing sound is heard by all the survivors. Which doesn't make sense with the patch notes.
I guess someone will have to go ahead and test it.
EDIT: unless the patch notes mean that it doesn't impact the audio for the Spirit's POV? Which I don't think happened anyway. I am confusion.

Probably the option that makes it completely pointless to use, I imagine.

I already did, it’s still directional no matter what, you can’t work around it with perks/distance anymore…It was the only thing that made playing Spirit feel special and unique for me after the nerf in October of 2021 :(
Basically, now if Spirit is phasing and not within a survivor’s terror radius and isn’t approaching , that survivor will hear the omnidirectional audio cue.
if Spirit approaches from beyond a survivor’s terror radius and enters said radius,, all survivors within the raidus will hear a very clear whoosh sound coming from whichever direction the spirit is coming from basically rendering the add-on useless and a waste of add-on slot because it’s like the Spirit player isn’t running the add-on ( like current default Spirit )
this really defeats the point of the add-on, it should be made a brown rarity now.

You have to wonder what possible use the devs think "let people know that you're phasing AND not nearby" is supposed to be.

It sounds like using the addon previously caused an issue with the Spirit player's audio, and they fixed it.
This shouldn't effect the audio of the survivors since that's the entire point of the addon.

What do you mean by ( shouldn’t affect the audio of the survivors? )

Oh it is now XD it’s not even vague when she gets close at least like wth!!

Wow. If that's true that's completely useless then. I know there was a bug where sometimes it hid the phase sound entirely and they should've fixed that, but changing it the way you said just completely defeats the point. There's no reason to actually use this addon amymore.

Somehow, it seems that the "issue" is that you wouldn't get a directional phasing sound if you started outside of Spirit's TR. You know, the only situation where the add-on had any worth whatsoever.

Wait, did they changed / nerfed the add-on? I don't understand.

What exactly is the use case of this add-on if the omnidirectional audio changes when you approach survivors or it doesn't mask the phasing while affected by Oblivious/Undetectable? Sure seems like it's all downsides, zero upsides.

If I'm understanding correctly, the way it works now is if survivors are far away from the Spirit, they hear the non-directional sound as they did before. But as soon as the Spirit gets close enough to them it switches to the directional sound giving away your position and letting them know that you're close by which completely defeats the entire purpose of the addon.

Oh, that sucks. Yes, it's pointless since that addon is there to confuse Survivors about your using power / position (like old spirit kinda but in very rare addon).

No, it’s referring to how survivors can now hear her directionally regardless of whether the affected survivor has oblivious applied ( it used to make it so that a phasing spirit even inside the terror radius would still produce a non-directional audio cue ) or she started phasing outside their terror radius and is approaching them ( getting closer to the survivor(s) in phase-walk )
