What killers do you think are in the best state?

With this question, i am not asking which killers are the strongest, i am asking which killers do you think are the best in terms of strength, health and fun. Basically killers that don't really need any changes to their base kit or add-ons

This is all a bit subjective, but i am bit curious to know the opinion.

For me:

  • Hag
  • Huntress
  • Plague
  • Demogorgon
  • Oni
  • Pinhead
  • Artist
  • Dredge
  • Wesker

Do you disagree? Do you think there are more killers bhvr shouldn't touch, do you think some of this killers need to be touched, being that a buff or nerf?

    • blight

    • wesker

    • oni (maybe a buff to basekit blood orb drops)

    • spirit

    • demo

    • huntress

    • nemesis

    • ghostface (I’d say buff by reducing cooldown of power)

I’d mostly agree with your list, but above are the killers I find fun to play more than others.

Blight, Wesker, Billy and Huntress probably.

All the rest still need changes varying from slight to extremely heavy, with some just needing addon changes.

Most the killer roster is not in an ideal place.

I'd say most killer have some minor changes that could be done, namely tweaks to a few addons that either don't make sense or are too good, but they're a few that stand out. I'd say the killer needs a solid design without major flaws, to realise that design in a balanced way and a good set of addons with diverse and viable effects. For me personally most killers are in a fine spot but the best spots have to go to:

    • Huntress
    • Ghostface
    • Dredge
    • Pinhead
    • Plague
    • Legion
    • Doctor
    • Wraith
    • Artist

Is worth noting that they're a few things you could change with these killers, silent bell and standing on the box a examples, but these are small exceptions to an already good kit. I will give a few that are very close to being like these ones but have a few too many addons that need to be changed or need base kit changes:

    • Blight has a very strong base kit with many absurd addons and exploitable bugs/quirks.
    • Spirit's standout addons are egregiously problematic to say the least, most are fine.
    • Oni's purples are a bit much and addons generally lack diversity.
    • Wekser's infection is miserable to play against at the moment as it puts too much of a soft cap on chase length once infected and often makes tunnelling very effective in a way that's unsatisfying to try and beat.
    • Pyramid head's addons are weak and lack diversity, although I could see the killer being too much with significant addons and no base kit changes.
    • Freddy I like the base kit of but most the addons are memes and not particularly interesting ones.
    • Nemesis, Demo and Death slinger need more viable addons, they don't need to be stronger than the current options though.
    • Onryo is cute but needs base kit buffs and addon pass.

I'm not going through every killer but these are the ones that stand out the best. I value build diversity quite a bit as I believe it breaths longevity into both playing the killer and having fun playing against them so a good set of addons is important.

You are right when you say this would be a too subjective topic,so I'm just going to tell you wich character I think suites most your question (and where probably everyone would agree too).

    The "Wraith"

I think he is the most balanced character in the game:

    - He is super fun to play with and against (I don't think I remember seeing someone complaining about him,unless it was a new player);

    - The add ons are super good and rewards the players who likes to be versatile on the field,so many perks synergize with them (you can create pallet breaker builds,generators control,mangled and hemorrage,fast chases etc);

    - Versatile power,as mentioned up,just like his add ons,his power opens up many ways of versatility too,you are faster when cloacked (but you cannot attack so it's very balanced),so you can control the generators more easily and maybe catch a survivor off guard thanks to the stealth.

You have anti loop possibility thanks to the haste effect after uncloacking (this is probably the most fun part of his power, these juicy lunge attacks are so hilarious).

Wesker, Billy, Dredge, Huntress and Oni

Blight would be here too, but I have a few issues with him. He's very close to perfect tho

Not to sound pessimistic but all of them aren't right

How many Killers can bring any addon and feel a difference?

How many Killers don't need addons?

How many Killers would benefit from a couple addon changes

    Wesker, probably.

Pinhead's addons below purple basically don't serve much purpose; you take them because there's nothing else much to do. They're minor at best, pointless on average, harmful at worst.

that is exactly what i was thinking. I was reading blueberry post and sitting here for long deep think. What killers feel total perfection? I could think blight as only near perfect killer. Maybe nurse but I think she is being punished too much for successful blinks hits now.

I would say 99% of the killers could use adjustments but their adjustment would vary big to minor.

Executioner very strong basekit, thats why he cant get better addons, and to be honest its lot better this way, in dbd most of the killer need addons to be good, and he is exception

idk. personally i think hag could use a buff for her hex totems because adept is stressful on her. but that's in a vacuum scenario.

trapper could probably use a buff in the spawn logic of his traps.

    nightmare is... eh.

pig could use some love with making her traps more reliable. i've been saying for years they could just remove the requirement for a gen to be activated. egc shouldn't counter pig's power.

    shape is fine.

    wraith might be overtuned.

nurse is up in the air.

    doctor is overtuned.

    huntress is so-so

    hillbilly is fine

artist feels clumsy around killer shack

ghostface lost a lot of power with the addon changes - might be undertuned.

    clown is visually unappealing

legion still feels wrong idk why

nemesis needs better base zombie ai and change the addons to increase zombie count.

mastermind is whatever. his addons are a bit counter productive.

    dredge's addons are situationally dependent

    spirit is close

    oni might be okay.

    the rest i don't own.

He would get nerfed to ground.

Oni and Plague are lot worse than Executioner.

Spirit only carried by addons, base kit he worse than Exe.

I couldn't say because I play in a peculiar way, but to me, the most fun characters are, in no particular order

    ·Trapper

    ·Wraith

    ·Huntress

    ·Nurse

    ·Freddy

    ·Spirit

    ·Plague

    ·Deathslinger

    ·Twins

    ·Pyramid Head

    ·Nemesis

    ·Cenobite

    ·Dredge

I do enjoy playing as others as well, just not as much as these ones. Specially, I really like Twins, Trapper, Deathslinger, Huntress and Nemesis. But I do acknowledge some of them could use a few tweaks.

Thanks for saying it... I've been having thoughts on this

But again this is General Discussions so I don't want to turn this into something it's not but... I digress

But again IMO there's too much information that Survivors can use... Nurses screams and when she had a fully charged Blink, Pig's roar, Hillbilly's grunt, Huntress's ping on a fully charged Hatchet... ETC some of those should be either addon based or taken put completely

Wesker is probably my top choice here.

I would say Blight too if not for the fact that he has so many problematic addons. But his basekit is pretty much perfect barring bugs.

Dredge is also in a decent spot. Malthinker’s Skull is overtuned though and is far better than any of the other “get Nightfall quicker” addons. I would like to see his locked locker exit time reduced a little though (maybe half a second and then nerf Haddie’s Calendar to half a second instead of 1 second to make up the difference).

Wraith is also pretty fine but I do wish he had some more unique addons. He has 3 speed addons, 2 action-speed increase addons, 3 uncloak speed addons, and 2 cloak speed addons. I’d like some more variety here.

Basically only Nurse, Blight and Artist. They are pretty much the only viable killers rn.

I like playing against all those killers except Pinhead. Absolutely broken against solo q and I don’t blame people who refuse to play against him.
