Why do some killers feel abandoned?
There's certain killer on the roster that kind of feel abandoned, or outright ignored in favor of more popular killers.
Trickster, Hillbilly, Twins and Pig are prime examples of this. Nobody liked the add-on rework for Hillbilly yet behavior never adjusted to that criticism. Trickster is incredibly weak and needs a reworked power at this point if they have no clue how to balance him. With the exception of a rare few, mostly everyone doesn't like to play Twins or against them. Pig...what isn't wrong with her? Her power is centered around a bad slow down mechanic and is practically useless by end game which use to be her strongest aspect.
None of these killers have received any changes to make them better. Heck, a couple of have only received a handful of changes after being released and that was it.

Because they are

Some killers only the mains still play and you only see them in specific MMRs.
But when i met some of the rare ones they are usually very stong.

Dont forget Freddy.

Because as a live service game they need to keep churning out new horribly designed killers and don't have time to take a look at what they've alreday produced except maybe once every 6 months (one killer at a time, so by the time they take a look at one, two more have been released anyway)

Twins are actually getting a rework sometime this year (Though the devs are radio silent on what it is which worries me)
You forgot to mention trapper and hag who are both basic abandoned (Hag has literally got literally 2 changes over 6 years)
But it happens because of the 3 month killer cycle so they just don’t have enough time to go back and balance older killers properly

Are you sure it is this year? Did they drop any new info on it? The last time they talked about it is when Legion and Ghostface was first and it still was many months before it happend so It might be almost 1,5+ years(?).

Because alot of them have been. Or at least I'll say that they have so far as we know. There could be massive updates planned for all we know.

Playing Freddy then play wesker later is night and day.

Hillbilly did get addressed a bit since the initial debacle. The overheat was a lot worse when they introduced it and engravings were really punishing to use. It's pretty clear someone higher up demanded the initial overheat change and everyone who knew better gradually walked it back as much as they could. We've all been in that situation at work where a manager who has zero clue starts power tripping.
As for other killers, the game's absurd content pace is eating the game alive for the last 2 years. They can't keep up with it. At least half the new killers are super bland and they're not fixing older killers.

On reading this I decided to go through the roster of all the killers I do or had played regularly and your right some are so bad they are forgettable,I actually forgot clown and Twins existed…You are right but I don’t get the idea of pumping out new killers while ignoring the problems with previous releases,I know it is probably down to revenue or the fact that any fixes to broken killers will be seen as a buff to the survivor main community who will bombard this forum and twitter bemoaning the fact..

Legion, Ghostface and Plague were all fixed as a final "love letter" from McLain before he left the company.
I am convinced there will never be updates for old killers besides the "trapper gets T W O traps" treatment. Even the roadmap for this year mentions nothing about Killers reworks.

Pig got her trap system reworked not too long ago.

Actually it was Almo that worked on ghostface and legion's rework, not McLean.
The last killer McLean worked on was Blight around the release of the Descend Beyond chapter.

Personally, after first year of DbD, when I played all killers evenly (especially when their achievements were not done), I started to play only a small group of killers only (it was Plague, Hag, then Artist). After Sadako came, I played only her for a year, until completely fed up (it's like when you eat only candy for a long time you cannot see them no more) Today only Knight for some reason, I really like playing him (maybe because of jailer's maniacal laughter) and probably will play further until exhaust his charm completely.
Thanks for reminding of Pig and Twins, I liked them back in a day, maybe shoud give them another go. Hillbilly is hard and require lot of dedication. Trickster is meh....

I see a lot of Tricksters and Pigs. Will Agree on hillbilly.
But Artist, Freddy, onryo and pinhead are way rarer

I wish they'd skip just one chapter to actually focus their resources on older killers. Some only need small changes. Others need complete reworks. Damn, I'd rather pay for that than another killer I'll never play.
Billy, Freddy and Twins are just sad in their current, miserable states.

Costs money. Costs time (which is also money), it's unlikely to create revenue.
Thus its very low priority in the list.

This is the issue. Each chapter must bring a lot of income. Brand new killer and 1/2 survs every 3 months is a big time sink.
Rebalancing killers won't make that kind of money so they'll be sidelined forever 🙁

I think they think that all killer are already balanced. they just look at kill-rate chart nd go like. eh. All killer are within 5% kill-rate of each other. Nothing to change. Twins was a perfect 60%. Sounds perfectly balanced.

I'm sure Hillbilly mains wish BHVR abandoned him instead of doing the rework.
