Did something change yesterday evening with mmr?

i am really wondering whats happening since monday evening... i went from normal groups where i could actually do something as killer (not meaning 4k's) 1 - 3ks to well lets say tremendiously better players almost overnight? My games finish so fast its almost not possible to actually play anymore i went from 8 - 10 hooks on avarage to max 3 hooks if i am lucky.

is anyone else experiencing this?

thanks in advance

Just finished playing on the EU server 14:00-17:00. Both Survivor and Killer matches are the same as they have been for the past few weeks. Either a complete sweatfeast where no gens/hooks are made or a complete stomp where the killer/survivors mop the floor with the opposition. I don't think I've seen a 2-3 men out in these 3 hours.

For me it started really yesterday evening. I am home a few days of work so i can play abit more then usual but like i said after a few matches i get the occaisonal group thats really good and i am fine with that but the occaisonal group is now every trial since about 8pm monday evening when i log in and start some trials.

I didn't play yesterday or see a change in my Killer games over the weekend but Sunday evening was stupidly easy as solo survivor. I died once out of six games I think and that was a deliberate self-sacrifice on my part to secure a 3E and give the Killer a 1K. I went from challenging to really tough games on Friday and Saturday to such a cakewalk on Sunday there were a couple pity kills given (which isn't normally seen).

So something was definitely different when I played solo survivor if that helps.

@TheSubstitute Maybe the matchmaking broke i don't know it feels very different now at least, in a few days it may even out again .

@Tsulan Tbh im really not at high mmr, or so i think... Like i said im not stomping on teams i always try to go for 2 hooks before i actually kill someone and my kills are always between 1 - 3 sometimes 4 but it should even out. i always try to watch profiles of the survivors and if they have like 50 hours i chase them, down them, but in the end i let them run out and tell them where they can improve if they respond in endgame chat.

It might just be a MMR fluke. I've had a few (and I do mean a few) times where for a couple days I would get a 90% or above escape rate. It would generally be followed up with a 0 to 10% escape rate over the next couple days. I'm nowhere near good enough as a solo survivor to have an escape rate over 50% so I view my string of losses as MMR recalibrating after my string of wins. If it helps, when that has happened to me, it does go back to normal after a few days of high ups and downs.

Nights on EST are almost all sweaty SWF. I just assume I am going against them, Lightborn is a god send. Even if you don’t see flashlights, you can expect flashbangs and/or blast mines.

Yes something changed, I get extremely sweaty SWF, like I can barely get 3 hook, then every gen gets done, 4 DH, 4 Adraneline etc

    Its frankly unplayable

Lets hope your right about this. :) The last time i had games like this was when they where testing out the sbmm and there was 1 or 2 days it was basicly unplayable thats how it feels now again.

@Piruluk Thats what happened to me also since yesterday.

I'm glad i am not the only one that experiences because i tought i was goin crazy

You need 3 hooks before you can kill someone so 2 hooks is the minimium before you can try that... But anyway with 1-3K you should not face high mmr survivors as that is under average kill rate so it should keep you in same mmr bracket you were before or even lower your mmr. I

personally try to keep my kill rate below 2K to decrease my mmr but I often end up taking more kills than I plan to... But what I have noticed from both sides even if I go only 1K 4 games a row or die 10 games a row I still can face good teams or killers so I think mmr just does not always work properly. But if you do get lot of 4K:s or escapes in a row you do face more likely better teams and killers. That what I have at least experienced.

Had this a lot recently. I litterally will stomp teams for 2 or 3 games 1 night, often letting the last have the hatch. Then the next night, I get swarming swat squads that have the answer to absolutely everything I throw at them and leave me in heap.

    Experiencing this.

I mean, there is a soft cap, where all the streamers are playing. Otz explained it some time ago pretty nicely. How depending on availability, players of higher mmr brackets got matched against players of lower mmr brackets. Simply to give both sides faster queues.

Having a jump in the skill set of the players you face usually means that you are getting matched with a different mmr bracket.

Personal mmr should be visible. So people could see where they are at. I really don´t get why we don´t have something like LoL. Where you always know which rank you are.

remember, for certain people on this forum high mmr isn't a thing... anyway, usually those kind of teams are common in the monday (afternoon) and sunday

Yeah, but even players like Otz dont go against Survivors who are at "high MMR" all the time. Often enough they go against Survivors which are far below their Skill Level, which leads to other people from other fanbases thinking that they derank their MMR off-screen (which they dont, you can easily see that with their Devotion Level and that it is not really logical that someone who would stream several hours a day would spend several hours to derank off-stream).

I mean, it is logical that there is the Soft Cap and that it is not strict, otherwise people would not find matches anymore or only against the same people (see Dowsey during one of the MMR-Tests who did not find a match for hours and had to get streamsniped by a Tournament-SWF). But the current system also really removes the purpose of MMR when it is so lenient.

Basically, Matchmaking is random at this point.

Its funny you should mentioned that, I also think I went up against quite the more capable Survivors last night, than the night before.

Iv'e been have the exact SAME problem, idk what it is but as survivor or killer I either get the sweatiest players imaginable, or players that seem like they just downloaded the game, no matter what I do it doesn't change.

Yes, I'm running into really good Survivors tonight as well.

Way better than what I'm usually used to playing with.

    Did you change something bHVR?

I played solo queue today and it was the worst experience I can remember. Did not escape a single match, and repeatedly matched with survivors who refused to touch gens. Whatever killers I was matched against I guarantee had a way better experience than you

If it helps (I previously mentioned my escape streak on Sunday) I got mercilessly and completely stomped last night when I played solo. It might be leveling out again if there were changed.

On Killer, I still didn't notice that much of a difference except for Knight where I got a good team in the corn fields (and completely flubbed my opener) but my solo survivor experience means it might be going back to normal.

    My brother I’ll trade places

I’ve had so many horrible survivors that it’s made me worse at killer

my last game last night I rage quit because -and this is on me I shouldn’t have quit- I had 9 teams in a row of baby players who I was letting two out or giving last one hatch. Like terrible horrible players

last match of the night was seal team six. But I was just rusty. No good teams in idk how many days now. I need more sweat squads or I’m gonna just turn into a potato myself
