What Was The Worst PTB?

I know some people are really bumbed out because of the Skull Merchant, but personally, I do not think it's the worst PTB we have had.

May I remind people that Ghostface's PTB exists:

  • Ghostface would get revealed instantly and sometimes even through walls/obstacles. It was also very much possible to get revealed through entire buildings if you were unlucky. When revealed, there was no Killer's Instinct to indicate where you were revealed from.
  • Marking a Survivor to begin with took an incredibly long amount of time due to the "lean" on Ghostface being bugged and not working properly most of the time. Marking a Survivor while crouched was also insanely difficult since the slightest obstructions of a player would cause stalking to not function properly.
  • Most of Ghostface's addons were horrible/mediocre to begin with.
  • If you stalked a Survivor and got revealed, your mark progress on that Survivor would deplete over time. Combine this with the previously mentioned awful reveal mechanics, it was nearly impossible to actual mark Survivors.
  • The marked duration was incredibly short and could literally be outran on short loops.
  • His power was also incredibly unclear for most people playing the PTB since there was a UI error that sometimes misplaced "stealth mode" and "stalk".

Keep in mind, this was the early days of DBD, and BHVR has far more experience with making content now so obviously something like this is not representative on what they do now, but I find it funny how bad Ghostface was on his original PTB.

The finisher mori PTB was pretty bad. At least Ghostface’s was bad only because of him and not two core game mechanics being tested that were beyond terrible and applied to every killer.

It was entirely experimental, and I wonder if BHVR is ever going to provide another PTB with changes they made from the last experiment. I just really felt like we were left in the dark in terms of information.

Ghostface is Original killer from movie which would be fun no matter of power.....

Skull merchant is a fortnite skin made in one week after Predator license owners were informed about DRONE PREDATOR and canceled license to not be ashamed

There is big difference you know

Hopefully not, I never want to see any of that again. The fact that moris don’t occur in most matches is part of what keeps them interesting and more special, and base UB created far more problems than it solved. The whole system sometimes made the best killers even stronger when they don’t need to be any stronger than they already are and generally speaking the weaker killers would’ve been hurt by it the most, just further separating the gap between the high and low ends of the killer roster.

I can't decide between A Binding of Kin, Ghostface, Resident Evil anniversary, Portrait of a Murder, or Tools of Torment PTBs.

A Binding Of Kin. The PTB was a buggy mess and the Twins power was really bad and they're still one of the worst killers to ever exist.

For us its a flip between Ghostie or Twins ptb. Ghostface had Object users forever while twins had enough bugs where our group didn't even want to do a kyf.

I do believe Ghostface was pretty bad in the PTB but it was one glaring issue for one character. As far as bugs it's probably the PTB for Twins. Although both of those PTB's were mostly bugs or oversights. The Tools of Torment PTB is more the foundation of the update isn't that good.

Personally I like the idea of it but execution feels incredibly disappointing. I'll see what the future holds for this chapter but it feels like it's going to be on the backburner for a while after release similar to The Twins. I actually wanted to enjoy the Twins as I felt that killer had a genuinely amazing concept - they just haven't gotten updated in a while and the only good change recently was actually a bug and got fixed which let you move a bit earlier when switching. I feel Tools of Torment is going to follow that path where we'll get a few changes based on feedback due to it being so bad but won't see any fundamental changes for a while.

Well the worst we've had for different reasons were probably Twins, Ghostface, Blight, Legion and Skull Merchant.

Most were at least fixable though as they had solid foundations with some even turning out amazing later.

I'd probably say Skull Merchant though.

Even though the others were riddled with bugs and flawed design choices you could see the potential and a direction for fixing them. Skull Merchant is just a mess of unhealthy/unfun design, very weak, extremely rushed, flawed in her core concept, bad perks and frankly not even good looking in visuals or mori. She needs more than tweaks and number changes, she needs full functional changes and features added. It honestly really does feel like it was supposed to be a predator (prey) chapter and when things fell through they had to commit a bunch of time to quickly reskinning everything into an original and that time used for that took away from everything else that other chapters normally get.

Ghostface was 100% the most broken one they've ever done, his power legit did not work at all

Twins is probably the second worst considering how riddled with bugs it was (many that weren't fixed when it went live)

NOTHING beats 4.5.0 The Buggiest patch i've seen in my life. You can find compilations of it on youtube.

Phasing through walls on crotus prenn, spectator mode when entering lockers, EVERY killer had Freddy's lunge range (something with hit validation lmao), animations were wonky, Azarov maps were fatshaming in buses... Literally the more you search about that patch, the more random stuff you can find, 10/10 i miss it xD

IDK my view is probably different than most since, with my PC not being so good, I've had plenty of PTBs where the game was completely unplayable. I remember Blight's being one of those, it tends to be that way when they implement major graphics updates.

Ghostface or Twins. I don't understand how Ghostface's power was in that state 2 weeks away from release. And literally none of Twins's perks worked

they were before my time but i heard legion was pretty bad. i think you didn't stop frenzy if you hit someone already in deep wounds, and deep wounds ticked down whenever you weren't in chase, so legion could just moonwalk near a survivor and force them to either bleed out or mend and then go down anyway

Remember when a Binding of Kin released and the patch notes were like

,,Known issues: 1.The Twins might become randomly unplayable 2.Half the perks don't do anything at all"

It must be Twins. Their perks didn't work, the power was bugged and literally all you had to do to stop was to hop in a locker. And I'm not sure it was already present in the PTB, but Elodie had a ear-piercing scream.

Nothing beats the Ghostface and trickster PTB’s for me. Ghostface basically had no power and trickster was super weak and boring while having a super similar power to huntress
