I have 40 hours in this game [Beginner issue]

And most of it is with Wraith and Hillbilly. So when I play survivor why tf am I getting lobbies where players have anything between 2-12k hours of the game played? With survivors having +100% bps bonus too meaning that there isn't exactly an issue with too many survivors playing the game out there. Also I suck at the game and can't run a single circle to loop a killer once without getting hit let alone run somewhere that isn't in the middle of nowhere where I just die afterwards. It makes absolutely no sense and at this point I'm about to give up on the game just because of it

The devs used to be very strict with MMR and who can match with who, but it made high level games absolute sweatfests, even moreso than now. Also long queue times.

So now the syrvivor team is looser with who can join who, and simply tries to match the "average" survivor team to the killer.

Try running some stealth perks and hiding as soon as you hear the terror radius. You could also do the opposite and try to take chases to improve, and accept that you'll probably die a ton.

Broken? Is there even one? Because 3 games in a row I just got turbotunneled out of the game by the swaggiest killers out there and I can't even do anything. The gameplay is more like I do one gen, get downed, get unhooked, I drop one pallet, I die, I get unhooked, I die again and onto the next game. This is just trash

Its simple, MMR works to a degree, but it has to make a Queue at some point. So if it cant find someone to match you with, would you prefer waiting 30min or get a within 1 min?

Take off all the pressure, just relax and try to stay alive as long as you can. Thats my best advice. People have no right to get mad at you for learning. Knowledge and Skill will come to you in time.

With survivors having +100% bps bonus too meaning that there isn't exactly an issue with too many survivors playing the game out there.

Actually this is the other way around, a +100% bps bonus to Survivor means there are many Killers and bHVR would advice you to play Survivor. most of the time, Killers get favoured cause there are fewer of them.

If you like you can ask for someone to give free training in https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/categories/looking-for-players

I can also recommend this Youtube channel's Series on Survivor:

I wish you the best of Luck. 😇 You gonna need it when you get ME as Killer. 😈

I would prefer waiting for 30 minutes. I don't really see what's the point of me playing against these killers or with these survivors. Because I really don't get to play the game at all the way these matchups are happening right now. I would love to get some experience from these, but it is in practise impossible because of the ginormous gap between us

It's not really the skill and perks and whatever that are the issue for me. Most killers have pretty straightforward mechanics and I'm sure that there are preferable things in gameplay you wanna do when going against them. But it's not like I've needed any of that when the killer and the other survivors have been just as bad as I have. None of this is really the issue, especially since you need those hours to begin with to get the most oppressive perks on most killers so it comes together with the issue

For now I think I'm just not gonna play the game and stick to other games. It's not like I have any friends playing the game either, mostly because of these problems

    Most likely backfilling.

If you enter a lobby and there's already four survivors readied up, you probably replaced someone who lobby dodged. This process, backfilling, bypasses MMR.

So you should also dodge that lobby until you get one that isn't already 4 survivors.

It will be particularly tricky for new players because the MMR distribution is a bell curve. The majority of players are in the middle, with those on the extremes (newbies and pros) being the minority. This means if you get backfilled, you're almost guaranteed to end up in a lobby far, far above your level. (while a middling player who gets backfilled could go either way)

I'd say it's a mix of MMR/SBMM just casually not existing and the fact that the game does not get many new players at all.

Welcome to DBD, that's basically how match-making usually is and will be :)

Is that actually true, though? I feel like new players are coming into the game all the time (and getting matched with me somehow). At least one of ever 4 games I play as killer I am facing a squad of total babies (you can tell), and they are sprinkled in everywhere.

But the new player experience must be rough at this point; busted MMR, borderline ptw economy, etc. I feel for them.

"The matchmaker starts off very specific and gradually broadens its range the longer you wait for a match. The overwhelming majority of the time you'll be paired against people within a few points of your own rating." (Unnamed DBD DEV 2023)

See everything is fine, you're just naturally good at the game. It's not like SBMM doesn't work at all or is based solely on escapes/kills and not how you actually played during your matches.
