Is cross progression gonna be a thing
I remember when it was the thing but it's kinda died off and I don't wanna buy dbd and re grind everything.

Our best hope is to let bhvr know that a large majority of the community on consoles wants to swap to PC and hope that they understand our need and make it a higher priority.

Cross progression and cross play does require an amount of consent from parties other than bhvr. If console makers and other rights holders don't want to support it for your title then it isn't going to happen. It's easier to get cross progression and crossplay at the very start of a game's life than it is to add it 6 years later unless your game is like mega hit. DBD has done very well for itself, but it isn't on the same scale as a lot of the free to play games that do cross progression with consoles.

Yeah every game requires concent form other parties and they may not have as many connections as dbd but they have cross progression

The vast majority of games with cross progression either shipped with it or it was added fairly early on in their lifecycle.
Not many games that are 6+ years old are getting cross progression. Hell in the case of a lot of games that do have cross progression/play it is usually only with pc/xbox/ps4-5 as Nintendo has a history of actively not allowing it cause they don't like the thought of players playing something off console.

probably not as most gaming companies are greedy and their priorities are mainly revenue and profit. games like warframe should set the standard, theyre free to play and they have cross progression and their player base is pretty massive. theres no reason why larger games amass shouldnt have cross progression if they can....

It’s not happening and at this point if it did, I’d think a lot of people, like myself, who bought the game on multiple systems would be burned by all the BP and prestige we left by the wayside.

It's not at BHVR's hands. Sony and Microsoft have pretty much to agree to let their players go to PC and leave their consoles. This is something they don't want.

A Community Manager from Digital Extremes (The Guys that made Warframe) said that it's really hard to to Cross-Progression when a Game is on multiple Consoles and features Content for the game that you can directly on the Consoles Store.
I can imagine that in DbDs Case even IP Licence Holders have to agree for Cross-Progression somehow, since there were some Issues with licened DLCs on the Nintendo E-Shop a while ago. And these were only on the Switch somehow, a "individual Store Problem"
