Back to 85 days for the rift

The first time we got the deep rift the devs extended the time to 85 days. I figured they'd just keep it that way but then the next rift they switched it back to 70 days. Now for the third deep rift they've put the time back to 85 days. Why? I don't think there's been any announcements. I would prefer the time just be longer but in either case I really just want consistency.

Is 85 days here to stay or not?

The last rift felt very tedious (I didn't even bother after tier 70) and I wasn't sure why, if that's the reason I hope it stays 85 days then.

I think for the first time they did 85 days. Saw that people complained they finished it within the first month(referring to twitter comments here), so they shortened it. People complained it was too short, so they put it back to 85. Thats my best guess.

I believe the sentiment since the first rift was always 1 day per tier.

Haven’t really paid to if they stuck to that, though.

They didn't last rift is what I'm saying. It was 85 tiers but only 70 days. Just want to get some kind of confirmation maybe that this is how it'll be going forward. Because I didn't bother finishing the last rift

85 days does seem reasonable. Some people will finish the rift in a couple weeks, but I imagine that's not most people (and im sure people can work on the archive still for the most part)

For people who play the game almost daily, they usualy complete the battlepass before the 4th tome challenges are even opened.

I think having over 2 months for active players even casuals is fine and rememeber there are also offten weekend events or codes for extra fragments.

If you can't complete the rift after like 2,5 months then you don't play DbD offten and then you probably don't care about the skins and rifts anyway (or at least you shouldn't imo if you barely play the game, why bother spending $ on it, Its like burning money).

I do really wish the rifts were timeless though and you could get old rewards...but I get why that's not the case

I think Halo Infinite is the only game to my knowledge where the battlepass stays forever so everyone who comes back or are new can unluck it in future anytime. But that's SUPER rare case tho.

Not sure how it has any effect on you whether others can have more time to play the rift. Either way there's usually about 3 months between rifts. It being open 85 days instead of 70 doesn't change anything for people who complete it early.

It doesn't of course, but my point is that if there is someone who can't or barely can complete the battlepass after like 80+ days then they probably shouldn't be bother with it in the first place, because they barely play the game anyway.

Last rift I got all the cosmetics I wanted out of it and didn't bother to complete it. There was still plenty of value in it for me.

I like the cosmetics in this rift much more and I'm glad I get the 15 extra days to work on it. Your opinion doesn't answer my question, it's kind of a derail tbh.

Last rift I did two weeks before deadline, though I did almost ALL of the challenges in book (few survivor ones are left on page 4). So in my opinion rift should be like 120 days. For the sake of people who don't stream or live in the game, but play couple of hours after work.

120 Days? I am pretty sure that's much longer than would next chapter realese (with that also comes new rift). Nah, this would just delay new rifts for all active or less active players for the sake of who? People who will play 1h per 10 days? No, thank you.

At that point you can just make them permanent (which would be nice), but you and I know that's not gona happend since the battlepass in games is not designed in the most friendly way for ALL types of players. It's for regular income of money for the company.

Yeah, problem is I played almost every day for 3-4 hours and got to the end before two-weeks deadline.

But if rifts are only for people that play DbD 10 hours a day without weekends, fine by me, I just want to hear it officially.

I play ~2 hours a day or less, if you average in the days I don't play at all, and I usually finish the rift with like two weeks left. The first deep rift, it was almost a month.

Honestly, my biggest gripe is usually that all of the rift fragments I earn from the last part of the tome are being wasted because the rift is already complete.

I mean you have to not play much or take a nice break in the middle in order to find yourself needing to grind hard to finish it.

And sure, you have people who barely play, but I always figured those weren't the people dropping money on rift passes.

I didn't read everything everyone said, but in my opinion it has to do with adding an event tome to the rift. The first deep rift had an extra tome with Hag's merperson cosmetic, right?

In other words I believe they are giving us that extra time because they will probably have an anniversary event tome which takes place in May/June sometime. This is also why so many people finished that last time, the extra tome meant extra rift fragments and easier completion.

Having it be atleast a day for every tier is the way it should be and I'm glad they changed it back.

Last rift when it was only 70 days for 85 tiers I actually grinded to get it done as quickly as possible to make sure I got all the tiers - which resulted in me finishing earlier than normal. So while I played a bunch up front I took a way longer break than I would've if it was just a tier a day goal. Having more days has me play more often throughout the length of the rift because I don't feel rushed to get it all done at once.

They should keep it at 70 days as that is more than enough and those who finish it earlier don't have to wait the new rift then so long.

I disagree with 70 days being enough.

For rift 14, I was dedicated to playing my two daily games of survivor and killer (for the xp bonus) and sometimes a bit more, because while I enjoy this game, my life at the moment doesn't really permit me to play much more than that. Had it not been for the 10 tiers I received 'for free' from Prime, I would not have made it, and that's with finishing almost all of the challenges. I only had a few challenges in level 4 left.

I don't think it's reasonable that playing at least two games (aka ~30 minutes) a day while also completing most of the challenges doesn't get you to the end of the rift in time.

I think you should be able to complete the ENTIRE rift with the fragments you get from challenges. If you play just enough to do all the challenges between level releases and no bonus games in between, you'd be lucky to only have 2 or 3 pages of the rift left. Not including fragment bonuses from the devs.
