Honestly most the hate she’s got is because she came out after the knight (who is arguably worse). If she was released after a good chapter people wouldn’t care as much

Community really didn't like her. Especially before her change.
It also is worth noting that this lovely community decided to reviewbomb every dlc cause of the changes that were tested in the ptb.
I've learned a long time ago that steam reviews aren't worth anything
To be fair though. Even though i like her it isn't hard to see why most wouldn't

the only thing that makes me sad after seeing this is that while the killer is awful and imo deserves the criticism, the survivors were so well made and had so much love put into them, being the first duo originals, first related originals (I know there's Oni and Spirit or even Trickster and Yun but they're actual brothers and on the same side, that's what I mean), the menu music, the voiced lines, and also the representation aspect, overall they're the best original survivors in multiple terms (tho the perks are debatable) and deserve none of the hate the chapter (somewhat rightfully) got.

Granted I haven't looked at each perk super in depth, they aren't that interesting if I remember correctly. The survivor shook neat though and I like that they are connected. I'd like to have a couple someday as the survivors in a chapter.
Now skull merchant her perks aren't that great and she is bith boring to play as and play against. Drop 3 drones on 3 gens and either sit until the end if the match or do typical m1 chases. She's the least interesting killer to be released (other than maybe twins) when on paper she should be cool. Easily worst chapter but I'm still overall enjoying the game.

This chapter was really bad. The only redeeming quality was the survivors. The killer and new perks for both sides sucked.

Considering that dbd and all it's dlcs on steam are being review bombed, it's not surprising that Tools of Torment has an Overwhelming Negative score.

This killer is probably one of the top 3 least fun to play against.
She is the entire reason that OC/CoB got a 75% nerf. Instead of fixing her they just nuked those perks.

Yeah, and now with these regression perks nerfed, and surivvors' healing nerfed, survivors are gonna tend to do gens more. Increased genrushing and less counter to it. I can smell a new problem emerging...

No it's not overkill, bad content gets bad reviews. If behaviour is gonna put out garbage, said garbage isn't going to get good reviews.
