Versing Wraith. Am I missing something?

He shows up out of nowhere, uncloaks, wins the chase. Cloaks, catches up, uncloaks, wins the chase. Repeat until all the survivors are dead.

Pallets don't do anything. Windows don't do anything. Hiding doesn't work. My team just loses.

He's a M1 killer in chase. You cannot Shift + W him across the map but looping definitely is an option. I wouldn't recommend mindless pre dropping though, as he has some addons that will punish you for doing that.

His power will not help him at structures like TL walls, Jungle Gyms, Shack or most main buildings because it takes him a while to uncloak. You can use that time to either get to the next vault, try to stun him with a pallet (Wraith gets stunned way longer than other killers while he's cloaked) or just run the loop.

Some Wraiths would try to mindgame you on loops so run away from them right as they uncloak and he'll waste all the speed boost re-catching up.

He's better than people give credit but he's beatable.

    1. Looping like previously mentioned can be good. He loses a good bit of speed catching up.

    2. Make sure you never get yourself trapped in the map. For example, I played midwich as wraith yesterday and unphased by the gen that is in a corner that caused a survivor to be trapped for a second (and I swung and hit them). You can give him a lot of free hits not thinking about how you could get blocked in places.

    3. You could intentionally waste his time. Go far away and fail skill checks, make noise etc while having a good place for you to hide. Wraith will run to where you made noise and waste a lot of time without finding you if you hide well which helps your team do gens well.

Short answer: yes, you are missing experience.

If you play as wraith against good players you will soon see what his weaknesses are.
