Golden Week community challenge start date
The Community Challenge event was announced today on DBD's Japanese Twitter page and retweeted by the 'main' page. I am a bit confused about the start time and date.
In the Japanese announcement it says that the start date is May 3, 00:00 which indeed is local time there. Does the event start for other regions on the same day (so for EU etc that would be tomorrow) or is it already live everywhere?

It's live already I believe...the times on Japanese Twitter were the ones across the whole event so not specific to any area.

It is just an event. On the contrary, let me ask you, what is the relationship between Lunar Events held on Chinese New Year and dbd? I think it is the same thing. Why don't you just enjoy it without thinking too hard?

What's the significance of 5? 55 million points, 500k Bloodpoints, 500 Iri Shards, 5 Rift Fragments. Is that how many holidays are in Golden Week or is it just to represent the weekdays? Or is it representative of May as the 5th month?

I will say, the iri shards reward is a bit low imo.
I'll still take free atuff...but 500 iri shards is nothing lol

Indeed. The rewards posted state "When the community reaches a combined 55M points, everyone receives 500K BPs, 500 Iridescent Shards, and 5 Rift Fragments!" 500k BPs is like ~2hrs of trials, 500 shards is less than two level gains post lvl 50, and 5 rift fragments is one tome entry.
For a community-wide/global event the rewards seem like an unenthused dismissing hand wave.

Also the news update said there'd be promo codes but I haven't seen any.

They might have decided to just award bloodpoints without promocodes. Logging in now will earn you 100k for example. I don't think this has anything to do with the outage yesterday.
