effective build for all killers

So I would be interested in hearing everyone's idea for a effective build that can be used on most killers. for example, my current build I use is corrupt and deadlock for general slowdown and eruption tied to nowhere to hide for targeted regression and information. I find this gives me good results on every killer I run it on and I would be curious to hear anybody else's idea for a good build that is universally good.

Welp, as a console killer, I run Lightborn and Iron Grasp on all killers.

But I’m a Twins main, so in addition to that, I usually run Deerhunter and Sloppy Butcher when I’m grinding to Iri 1. Otherwise I run 2 of whatever.

I never run hexes or gen regression.

I Iike things that make life easier like Enduring, Brutal Strength, etc.

At the end of the day, good survivors will win and soloq will usually lose no matter what perks you bring. If you have good game sense, can predict survivor movements, etc., then you really don’t rely on the perks as much. IMO.

My catch-all is Lethal, BBQ, PR, and Deadlock. Swap Deadlock for Jolt on M1 killers.

There was a video I saw a while back that did something like this. Though it wasn't strictly one build fits all. It split killers into 3 categories. M1 Killers, (Ghost Face, Wraith, Deathslinger), Killers who primarily down with their power (Hillbilly, Huntress) and Killers who force additional objectives (Pig, Pinhead, Wesker). In fact some killers were given your exact build except Call of Brine in place of Deadlock or Corrupt (vid was before the perks' nerfs)

The general idea was one early game perk to prevent early gen loss (Corrupt Intervention, Lethal Pursuer, or Deadlock depending on the Killer), a power optimizing perk (varies by Killer, Dissolution for Wraith, Nowhere to Hide for Billy, Deadlock for Plague) and two slowdown perks depending on what category they were in.

M1 Killers: Pop Goes the Weasel & Jolt (you don't have to kick gens often but, if you do, use Pop to get your money's worth)

M2 Killers: Call of Brine & Eruption (video was made before both perks' respective nerfs). My understanding was get more milage out of kicks for Eruption, while Eruption does for M2s what Jolt does for M1s, turn any down into regression, so it incentivizes use of their power.

Extra Objective Killers: Hexes Plaything and Pentimento for even more objectives.

Speaking for myself I don't have a single go- to build, as I tend to build around a Killer's particular abilities when I build seriously. My Doctor build uses Oblivious perks (Static Blast hits Oblivious Survivors), my Skull Merchant build uses totem defense (to address issues with her 3-genning), my Artist build goes for long range regression with Ruin, Opression, Pain Res, and Surveillance.

Can’t go wrong with Jolt and Sloppy on an M1 Killer. All Killers get great benefit from Deadlock and No Way Out. Corrupt Intervention is great on pretty much everyone except Bubba.

You need to run Skull merchant with the perk "Patience" that helps you get the will to hold matches until the server disconnects.

    Then you beat everyone ez.

Or you could have a legitimate perk build to offer instead of sarcasm built to annoy people. Take your negativity somewhere else.

To go with the system in the video I referenced, along with Jolt and Pop I'd say Deadlock (maybe Corrupt if your want to use time to set up drones in advance) and Iron Grasp as the power optimozer (so you don't have to hook near a well placed drone)

I would agrue post patch there aren't true "best generic builds". Previously, reguardless of killer the best build was overcharge and call of brine and before the meta shake up the best build was hex:ruin, pop and corrupt. Metas like these don't always exist but even without them they're generically good builds.

I'd elect pain res, deadlock, no way out/corrupt and gift of pain/sloppy. Info/chase is nice but killer specific while slowdown doesn't get much worse on any killer, just out valued sometimes. Pain res is 100% of a gen in total which is obsurd and makes a strong start snowball very well, while deadlock is potentially 2 minuets of blocking and can help recover a bad start making for a nice combo. No way out depends on the killer but is generally good for securing an extra kill, set up killers would rather corrupt however as more time early ends up being better than more time later. Mangled and hemorege is so much better with medkit nerfs and even against insta down killers healing is important making this desirable, sloppy for M1 killers gift of pain for other killers.

Would I advice you run this build, no. Any killer can find a perk here a replace it with something more synergistic for them. If you had to do a winstreak using one build on every killer would I recomend this, I mean it can't go wrong for the most part.

for a new killer my hint is play with this build, all perks that show survivor auras

    1) lethal pursuer

    2) nurse's calling

    3) nowhere to hide

    4) barbecue and chili

Great hit and run build. I tried it on my wraith to great affect.

    I don't have a four-perk go-to, but I have two go-to pairs:

    • Plaything/Pentimento
    • Overcharge/Nowhere to Hide

I also sometimes do Monitor/Fearmonger but I've had mixed results.

After the reworks do you think eruption/no where to hide might be better now? Or do you still think overcharge is viable.

    My go to is

    Corrupt and Whispers

The other 2 perks depend on Killer

    Deadlock

    Pain Resonance

    Dead Mans Switch

    Jolt

Could Switch Deadlock for agitation like I do for Knight.

For me, Overcharge is better because I get value right away and I can see no one is waiting there to tap the gen. If you're faster than me, you might do better with eruption.

  • pigslittlepet
    pigslittlepet Member Posts: 483

I do main pyramid head so I can down people quickly and keep resetting eruption. Maybe on killers without a strong chase it's not the very best option.
