Spirit’s new FOV
Can anyone tell me why exactly Spirit’s FOV was changed? I do not recall seeing a bug related to her previous FOV that impacted the gameplay negatively and if there was a bug somehow could anyone state what it was? Thanks.

Yes, you are absolutely correct that you aren’t the only one noticing how drastically different the new FOV is and it’s different in a bad way as it’s very dizzying :(

I don't know *how* it broke, only that it did. Do remember, they managed to break Legion's lunge simply by releasing Twins years ago.

they have been updating several fpv(first person view) animations recently
demogorgon's fpv animations were sligthtly adjusted and updated(most noticeable one is the carry fpv animation) in the previous midchapter
pig's fpv animations were also tweaked a bit with a brand new move left fpv animation(where her weapon moves to the side)
and it seems they have updated spirit's fpv animations, with a brand new phase end animation and now you can see her sprint while in phase in fpv(while looking down), kinda cool, but for some reason they raised her hands for the normal fpv animation
all of these seemed to have come with some bugs tho, hope they'll iron them out

I hope they keep it in the game, as compensation for nerfing her twice with the directional audio.

dear god no, it really is very nauseating and dizzying :( but may i know why you’re suggesting keeping it?
P.S. : i agree that the directional audio change is stupid ( it’s even more stupid now ) and i really wish they’d remove that or at least bring back old Furin…god i miss that add-on :(

I want it in the game because the default killer FoV causes more people headaches and nausea, as it's a known trigger that super low FoVs can cause issues. Spirit's current FoV is much closer to a standard FoV (and much closer to the survivor FoV).
This Spirit bug is the best thing that has happened to her in a long time. It would be great if we could have an FoV slider, but sadly, BHVR refuses to even make a comment on whether or not they are even considering this. It doesn't even need to start out as a fully scaling FoV slider. Just having a "shadowborn FoV On/Off" toggle would be a good start.

It's important to note that people get headaches and nausea on both ends of the spectrum. Some people actually get headaches from higher FoVs than lower. This is why an FoV slider should simply be in the game for accessibility as people could then choose the FoV that they feel most comfortable with.
