Sometimes players just dont care you are playing against real people
Had a game where a Trapper destroyed my team. I was the last one left and i fully expected them to kill, but they intentionaly let me wiggle free. They stood and let me open the gate but downed me right away and hooked me. I'm fine with someone not giving mercy (or actually being merciful) on a survivor but don't pretend to be nice just to dunk on them right away. Either kill me right away or let me go. I'm not your plaything.
I'm likely making this a bigger deal than it is since it just happened to be fair.
Thanks for reading my rant

Nah i get it. Either kill a surv or let them go. Killers that just deliberately string it out and make you think they'll let you go then just take it back at the last second are real toxic.

Yeah these kind of players are the most toxic in my book

maybe he had an archive for the murder after opening the gate?
3 -
He did say he had an archive to chase someone for so long and needed a handful of seconds. Didn't need to kill me
3 -
Well, in that case, he's just #########

I have faced this so many times that when I wiggle free, I just walk ask the killer to follow me and go to the hook and ask to be hooked. Sometimes they shake their head but I mainly insist they kill me. I didn’t deserve the win anyway so no loss on my part but would rather die with dignity.
I’m sure this (your post) will be a cue for many killer mains to come on and rather than say why this is not good, will point to the old “well what about survivors who teabag and stay at exit?” As if by conflating the two wrongs mean that one can’t comment about the experiences of one such as this. What came first the chicken or the egg situation as infinitum.

Sounds like me. I like letting survivors crawl to the hatch and slamming it shut.

Then why make this thread at all? He literally gave you a legitimate reason for it. Yes he -could- have let you go free after but he doesn't need to.
More us vs them.
3 -
He didn't give a legitimate reason to actively be toxic though. Why not just let someone go if you are letting them appear to be free multiple times and dont need to dunk on them for a challenge?

The other day I was the last survivor. As killer was carrying me I wiggled, they did the "stop wiggling" signs some killers use for "I'm going to give you hatch" so I stop with not much left to wiggle. They carry me to hatch, shake no, then turn to bring me to nearby hook - probably planning to shut it once I was on hook. I did last bit of wiggle and was able to get hatch.
I wiggle whenever I'm last survivor because of how often the killer will bring you to hatch but drop you far enough away to close it in your face. I'd rather wiggle and get hooked than waste time while killer goes around looking for hatch just to close it in my face.

Online gaming is a magnet for sociopaths

I think that most toxic behaviour in the game. Killers who do it probably have irl problems and bring them to the game but this is very small portion of playerbase. Every game has toxic players and some survivors are close to that but they don't really have tools to do anything like that. It's not what normal killers do.
2 -
It's always funny hearing people say "it's a minority playerbase" (which it is, but then you see a bunch of posts and threads about bully SWF.
I guess those couple of times people have a bad experience really stick out to people.
3 -
It’s someone’s experience and that person saying they had a challenge doesn’t excuse the toxicity.
3 -
Eh, sucks when it happens. Says a lot about player's character. No class, weak and sad.
4 -
Yeah, happens to me regularly. It's a lame thing to do...I don't do it as a killer, I'm either going to let you go or not...but there's nothing to be done about it. Stuff like this is real common in competitive multiplayer. We play in a virtual and anonymous environment that for all intents and purposes is consequence-free. That brings out the worst in a lot of players.

We didn't finish the gens. We got 2 gens done.
He closed the hatch to allow me to open the gate to leave (or so I thought )
2 -
I accidently was toxic to a player in the EGC. Closed the hatch, downed the last survivor and then let them wiggle free. Unfortunately, survivor freaks out and doesn't understand I'm letting them out and runs erratically everywhere. They eventually go for the exit gates.
Except I had No Way Out with 4 stacks. Damn it.
Survivor didn't make it. While not everything was my fault, I felt really bad about it. They probably thought I was a huge jerk but it was all an accident. I forgot I had No Way Out equipped.
But yeah, intentionally making survivors believe you're letting them go only to murder them later is cold and classless.

It's immature behavior, no question. I think most players have also experienced this situation. However, you shouldn't take it to heart. At the end of the day, DBD is just a video game and you shouldn't give these people satisfaction by being angry about it.

No, you are not making this a bigger deal. For many of us it is an issue. A similar experience I had was with a Nurse who let me crawl to the hatch but closed it in the last second. Just waited me to bleed out. Then in the endgame just "ez, git gud, cry" etc.
I truly believe some of these reflect the personality of the player... they must be awful IRL.

Letting you open the gate was a nice gesture by itself. It’s really not that different from letting the last survivor do a totem before a sacrifice.

It's funny

No

Lol same. It's so obvious when they drop you a distance away that they have no intention of letting you have it. I shake myself 'no' or crawl to a hook.
1 -
What is that Survivors say all the time? Oh yeah:
"It’s not an issue. Don’t play a game for adults and not be able to take it"
"If you can't handle it, go cry in a corner."
"Grow a thicker skin."
"f it makes you angry, the problem is yours"
"you are doing something that encourages BM towards you."
"I never understood why you should mald over someone pressing a button"
"its literally just pixels on a screen going up and down. idk why it gets people so butthurt"
1 -
Yeah i kinda wanted to say this
Playerbase so often reacts so emotionally to other players but when they do the same to them they block it or just go out of the way to invalidate it.
So all people is shout at each other
It is sad to see

Bro are you trying to take the high road right after saying it's funny?

Nah fam I hate that too... Don't be a sore winner. I don't care if I died.. but don't waste my time. This is a video game. You aren't a real killer. People wanna get as many games in before they have to go to work or take care of other responsibilities. Kill me or let me go. Do not play with me or waste my time.
2 -
But you'll miss hatch if they are giving it for real :(

it's probably after he closed the hatch and doing so starts egc.

This is the kind of BM that does annoy me. Drawing games out just to be a [bad word] is a waste of everyone's time, whether it's pretending to let someone go only to then kill them or waiting at the exit gate when everyone is safe to leave.
It's why I don't get mad at gen-rushing or tunneling as much- at least I'll move onto the next game fast.
I hope your next games go better.

Just wanted to see how serious this post was about being offended
I honestly do think people should laugh it off it's not that serious.
Not everyone is going to respect everyone all the time and that's just the way humans are
Thats why i said my previous comment cause this type of thing happens all the time
Getting super angry and serious about it is just gonna make you miserable

This is why the "Killers shouldn't care about your fun" psychopathic mentality shouldn't be encouraged. Some people use it to excuse their ridiculous power trips, then they are the firsts to run here to complain about a SWF bullying them and "ruinning their fun".
1 -
The fact that some of yall have such a "us v them" mentality that you forget people can play both sides (and nearly everyone does it) is astounishing. How does no one talks about the fact that the super toxic killers and the super toxic survivors (and the ones telling you to stop crying about it) are in fact, the same people ?
and even if they're not the same people, responses like yours are just immature. Either you don't like ppl telling others these things but then you don't do it or you don't care but then you don't complain about survivors doing it. You can't have it both ways, either tell OP to suck it up or complain about survivors telling to killers to suck it up elsewhere, but hiding behind sarcasm to do both at once is just hypocritical.

Most accurate thing ever written on here.

I almost never drop on the hatch, I've never closed it in front of anyone. if you shook your head at me after I'd placed you near the hatch you there and l would just leave the area.
I'm giving you hatch, not playing taxi driver. But lets be honest usually if im giving someone hatch I don't down them anyway, I don't even bother hunting them. I don't require you to know I gave you hatch.
