why does prestiging cost BP??
why does prestiging cost 20k bloodpoints? why did they make it so you cant just prestige without spending a literal dime like before?? i dont see the point in them saying "we want to make the game less grindy" and then proceed to do this

Some weird attempt to regulate the perceived bloodpoint economy
To make prestiging feel earned
[insert whatever game design psychological reasoning here]

Doesn't it already feel earned after you poured in BP for 50 levels?

I feel like it feels earned, but I guess for some reason they don't?
It's probably some complex math problem where they've paced the grind to be a certain length and getting that last 20k bp out of you keeps players from getting things too quickly. This is the part of game dev I don't really understand.

It's not a huge deal though, we get more BP than ever before -and- they lowered the price of everything in the bloodweb, so 20k BP every 50 levels is hardly anything.

I think the reasoning is that it's frontloading the cost for unlocking perks on everyone, instead of having to spend way, way more on who knows how many bloodwebs just to unlock those perks on one character.
Personally I don't think it's necessary, but I do kind of see the logic behind a low, symbolic cost for unlocking those perks across everyone.

Prestiging didn't cost BP by itself, but that would make you lose every perk and item the character had.
Getting all that stuff back, especially with the higher BP prices, would cost way more than 20k BP. I will happily stick with the new system, thank you.

After 50 prestiging immediately would be fine to be honest. It is rare that I don't have 20K to do it but when it happens it's pretty annoying. 😙
