How tf am I de pipping with a solid 2k with 6 hooks?
Yes the other two escaped but not after alot of downs, hooks, quick chases, etc.

2k 6 hooks aint that great tbh
thats quite literally the bare minimum for a 2k

If you stay within a certain radius of the hook you lose Emblem points. If that's not it, then Plague, as an example, loses Merciless points anytime a survivor cleanses. If it's not something similar to either of the above I have no idea; sorry.

The devs and mods will sit there and tell us that the grades are now an expression of playtime only, yet depipping still exists.

Are you at an iridescent rank? Check post-game where you received most of the negative points of the available 4 categories and that will be a clue.

Depending on which killer you play, you can easily depip with a 4k as well.
Then, you play Blight and realize that this guy always at least safety pips.

If you're at Iri, maybe gold then yeah that's just not a good enough score to even safety pip.
