Is Toba landing THAT bad?

I played on the new map and all I hear is it’s another ######### map and it sucks. Scott Jund made an entire joke video about how Toba is the worst map ever. But is it?

Is it worse than Borgo, Garden of joy, fractured cowshed, Old RPD and Haddonfield?(that map isn’t bad either)

No it’s not I played as killer and it never felt unfair it was actually a cool map. Even when I failed it was on me cause I didn’t pressure right. Sure it sucks on ranged killers and the visuals can be weird but it’s really not the worst map far from it.

I hate when people exaggerate how much maps suck when this one isn’t that bad at all. Borgo and Garden deserve that hate.

    Yes. This is you trying to find actually good survivors that are hiding in the "corn" that they added back;

And killers like Deathslinger or Trickster can hardly operate on the map due to needing a line of sight to work their power.

No, because its at least a pretty small map. Personally though, as weird as it may be, I just don't like the ambient sounds it has.

One of the worst maps in the game in terms of balance, looks nice though.

Obstacles and lOS for ranged killers are just a joke on that map, not to mention it's quite hard to see scratch marks through the grass.

It also has a main building with quite a few windows and pallets. If unlucky, there can be lots of dead zones for survivors.

It really is an awful map.

    I don't think it's worst, I think it's one of the worsts.

Definitely worse than Borgo. Nothing can top Old Haddonfield and Garden Of Joy though.

Main issues with the map is it's too bright, too crowded, small, and full of very strong pallets/loops (and a possible infinite). Also the ambient sounds are bad

No, I say Old Haddonfield was better, as it wasn't as big as some of the newer maps. GOJ is a map I just plain do not like.

Its all the random crap they filled the map with which make it unpleasant, that said its not super super huge ig.

It's not AS bad as people complain but it's definitely not a nice map for killers. As survivor we get confused but that's more due to it being new.

Other than some loop adjustments, it seems fine enough from my experience.

I only dislike the map because seeing things can be hard because of my colorblindness.

I have to use a Shader to tint my entire screen one color just to be able to see things, which I think most people can agree, is just dumb, even though I have colorblindness, I shouldnt have to do that just to be able to see.

They did take Feedback from the PTB, and made things easier to see, mainly just Survivors, but I still struggle a lot with Scratchmarks.

Garbage survivor based map as always. Always another pallet and always another strong window. I wish another game would come along with some competent devs who know balance

As a killer main, I don't see what's so bad about it. It feels like a fairly standard map to me.

Toba catastrophe indeed. Shoving my face in a toilet and then flushing it sounds more pleasant than playing on that map.

I wish I could play it more to judge, I haven't gotten it a single time while I play killer!

So far, my impressions are that it's worse for projectile killers because of a lot of line-of-sight breakers, but it's not too big to be impossible for poor mobility ones.

True. Dead dawgs, Borgo, Toba, Garden Of Joy...only Eyrie, RPD, and Midwich dont have ugly red/pink skies and and 2 of those are licensed

I played today surv and omg, this map is a completly deadzone is you are outside shack and main building, there are some strange tiles too, one with a strong window, but the pallet in this tile is garbage, I think this map is honestly fine just because ins't like borgo and garden of joy since it's a free win

It’s nowhere near as bad as Borgo or Garden but still not great.

The main problem I have with it is that it’s very disorienting. I have no idea where I am or if the wall I’m looking at is a loop or just a random obstacle. Borge and Garden I at least know where I am on the map, Toba I have no idea which side of the ship I’m even on or where the shack is. There’s nothing that really stands out to tell you where you are, it’s just a random assortment of colours on your screen.

The main building is strong, but no where near as good as Garden or Red Forest.

I’ve also noticed that I can down survivors pretty easily at a lot of the loops, but at the same time I feel like that’s just because the loops are so different that survivors haven’t learned to loop them yet. I’ve seen some loops VERY close to each other but yet to see anyone actually chain them together.

The amount of obstacles is another big issue. Makes killers like Slinger, Billy and Singularity struggle. Singularity especially is frustrating because a single leaf on a tree can block 1% of a survivor and prevent you from shooting me and there are a LOT of trees.

The loops are very strange especially the ones with the mini ramps

I don't mind it. I've been getting it quite alot and have only escaped from it once, so my enjoyment of it has nothing to do with whether its in my favour or not as a survivor. There's a particular dead zone that can be a PITA but overall I like it.

I've personally not found it bad. The colour shceme is nice in my opinion and I've not had much issue tracking scratch marks on the map or finding people. The balance of the map doesn't feel remarkable, I've not noticed any insane set ups and although they're a good amount of pallets with a strong main building they're not many interconnected loops from my experience keeping it tame. Biggest gripe is that the edges of the map feel unnescerarry being large and empty creating areas which can be difficult to hook in, trimming down this excess fat I feel like could be good. I also find it's often hard to indentify where pallets are from a distance as they're often hidden in the tiles they're in. I've heard some people complain about line of sight but I've not played many range killers post patch and I like it for playing stealth killers.

I do love the visuals of the map with the ambience, different types of alien funa and flora and unique materials the structures are made off. I do sometimes struggle to see on some of the darker maps due to the lighting in my room, sometimes struggling to see objects straight infront of me, so a map that is a bit brighter is nice for me. This has generally been one of my favourite maps for a long time and I hope this realm is expanded upon if possible.
