Why people don't play more Singularity?

or better question... why are YOU (unless you play him a lot) not playing him?

His chase power still doesn't feel strong or anything, and I'm not interested in 3 gen strat that's going to be removed anyway.

after the nerfs to emps there's no reason not to i think he's in a pretty good spot rn and i see him played kinda often.

still he won't be as popular as wesker, blight and huntress especially wesker since he was disabled for a bit and now everyone and their mom wants to play and get cakes on him.

I really want to but I absolutely suck at using his power so I play him as a M1 killer with basically no power, so I went back to playing Demogorgon.

I think I'm just not patient enough to learn new powers, mostly if they're at least a tiny bit difficult to use properly. I also wanted to play Dredge but I haven't touched him since the last anniversary (he still has last year's offering equipped lol), I'm doomed to only play basic killers like Demo, Doctor, Legion, Trapper & Huntress bc im stupid basically.

I played him a good chunk. There are just helpless moments with his power. Most killers win through their power. With Singularity there is a constant decision to be made about whether his power genuinely improves the scenario or not.

I have crushed survivors with him. And the deviousness increases were very welcomed changes.

its sucks to aim with joystick

  • Member Posts: 1,559

He just seems too complicated. Honestly a ton of the new killers are too complicated for me. I always buy them and level them up, but rarely feel like spending the time to play them.

Because hes boring to play, his style is awful, his chase music is painful to hear, any other bad things.

  • Member Posts: 3,146

Not sure if you know but the slowdown happens after exiting a pod if you are close to a hooked survivor but i do think it's annoying and easy to forget

    He’s bad

Exactly. The EMP is way too powerfull and survivors can spam the hell out of it.

At least if it were working as the Pinhead's cube... but it is not.

I’ve had success with him without 3-genning at all. I’m a really aggressive chaser with him.

They can only get rid of the slipstream once or twice per chase, tops, so the moment you start reliably spitting balls in your chases, I found EMP’s only really hamper his map-traversal. He’s surprisingly spammable in chase, honestly.

To me, it feels a lot like how Twins function, with the constant switching and the slowed effects of doing so. Granted he's a bit more bearable to play on that front compared to Twins, but i'd rather stick with killer's that can't have their power hyjacked or controlled.

I just dont like him very much, he feels cluncky to me. I rather play one of the 3 killers i enjoy playing.

  • Member Posts: 5,332

I typically like to wait until newer Killers have their issues ironed out for a more refined experience

Not saying Singularity in particular has any huge issues but he has a few here and there

  • Member Posts: 2,445

Survivor is most of my games now, the killer games I play are reserved for blight.

  • Member Posts: 302

So your saying you have to tag them 2-3 times. You do understand the time contraint of that right? You could have just chase with any other killer and got a hit in the time it takes you to bust on them 3 times.

Considering I land my first and second ball on them within 10 seconds, and am able to catch up the lost distance with M2 right after, I haven't had that many issues.

Granted, he's incredibly map dependent. He's an absolute monster on Midwich and The Game, but struggles on Coldwind, in my experience.

The Singularity has a high skill ceiling so why are people expecting something out of him their first few games? No one is going to master him in a simple session.

After the latest buffs, Hux is now an extremely balanced killer who is punished heavily for making the wrong decision either in chase or simply where he placed a pod. This is regardless of emps which are drastically less plentiful and impacting.

Hux is now comfortably at the very least A tier, but struggles due to being reliant on maps which he struggles mostly on indoor maps or crowded maps due to there being poor sight lines. Otherwise he would have the potential to be top A tier in the hands of a player who's mastered him.

Not my style of play. Found him pretty boring after a while. I do like the voicelines.

  • Member Posts: 1,072

I'm not in the mood to learn him. This is during the event. But the mask for Hux looks great. Might play a couple of matches.

I find that a killer whose power is controlled by survivor and constantly turned off by the survivor is not a fun game design for killer. Killers want to be time efficient in their gameplay and this is anything but time efficient for them. Still, I think his teleport is pretty good and the ability to chew pallets is decent. It is just that singularity gameplay loop for killer is draining and highly repetitive. You feel like you have to work extra hard to see results. he feels like sleeper pick that people might play more over time.

Haven’t played him yet, but so far his Power seems… Disjointed?

    Fire pods for a camera.

You need to swap to the camera for them to do anything.

You need to pan around the area with the camera.

You need to tag a Survivor with the Camera, but that takes some time.

You then likely need to detach from the camera and then chase the Survivor.

Then shoot a biopod on the Survivor, to be teleported to them.

Or if the survivor is still in the open shoot them with the camera to be teleported to them.

I’d probably enjoy finding spots to place pods in interesting locations that are out of the way. (Which would subsequently be EMP’ed, lol)

But I don’t think I’d like the artificial delay on marking survivors with a biopod, or that shooting Survivors with biopods from your arm in the first place does nothing if they aren’t tagged by a camera, since for some reason HUX doesn’t have the ability to shoot what the cameras he shoots… shoots…

Coupled with using a controller and the camera pan is going to be a little slower/getting used to it. (It’d be nice it it auto focused on nearby visible survivors when switched to).

But I will eventually try him out.

Emps are destroying anything I set up with it. Not worth playing a killer where survivors can negate its power so easily. I hoped the hot fix would help but it didn’t do much.

  • Member Posts: 9,064

Singularity still feels like a killer that has no power

I have more of a power feeling playing trapper or Freddy

  • Member Posts: 1,124

He doesnt feel super rewarding. Landing slipstreams feels clean and teleporting/overclock is very powerful, but more often than not theres enough EMPs to turn me into an M1 killer for a good part of the chase. I like him, i think hes super cool. But hes just not as fun as wesker or blight. Overclock is very strong but most of the time it just gets the pallet down. After that you are back to just chasing as an M1 killer. Maybe if the 5% speed increase on his iri was basekit during overclock he'd feel better... I can land as many slipstreams and TPs as I want but that wont stop him from feeling like just a pallet shredding M1.

I like him but he's takes a lot of work to be successful. The biopods can be disorientating to use. Trying to aim with a controller can be clunky. Sometimes I can't even shoot at the survivor because their hitbox is slightly hidden behind an object. I wish the biopods would just auto-shoot at the survivors and I would occasionally use them as cameras to survey an area.

I don't play as much as I used to and when I do I tend to pick someone who is easy to play or someone who I have more experience with e.g. Doctor.

Once this event is over I'll probably be playing other games until the next chapter.

  • Member Posts: 3,561

Yeah im kinda same I got some use of his power but it was hard and survivors always just easily counter it most of the time by using emp:s. So not really worth to even use it but then he is only m1 killer. I only played him to get adept so that did not motivate me to practise his power either.

  • Member Posts: 949

I would like to give it a try bow that is buffed but not enought shards.

I tired it on ptb and was a joke. Good concept but strong EMP.

  • Member Posts: 4,511

I've noticed this too. Even if I perfectly time the teleports, and break pallets with the overclock speed, survivors can very often make it to another pallet or window anyway. And if the killer teleports into a pallet stun, he gets delayed so much that survivors can very often make it to another pallet or window anyway.

If I wanted the ability to travel the map quickly, and break pallets quickly, I could just pick Wraith instead.

  • Member Posts: 5,735

Also is it just my skill issue or something but... I don't really notice much of these buffs that happend few days ago. I just played match with him and yea, EMP is still pretty offten, you can still chain them, I have to infect like 2-3 times per chase someone with my power, teammate coming with EMP to help, felt kinda helpless really...

  • Member Posts: 3,333

Placement don't really matter all that much as you can't place anywhere that can't be effected by emps and considering your more incentivized to place them mid chase rather than going through a setup phase unless you're on one of his good maps.

I also wouldn't say he's extremely balanced, but he's in a somewhat better state. He's over reliant maps and needs extremely clean sight lines as his power is thwarted by hiding be an inch wide pole. Overclock gives him a slightly shorter chase in certain situations, but using it seems to still work against him. He's probably B tier killer, but considering the difficulty of his gameplay and the clunkiness of power people aren't going to feel like investing time in is worth it. I think there are people who will play Hux like there are people who will play twins, but definitely seems like a niche killer who'll be great for comp players, but meh for average players.

  • Member Posts: 3,146

Nah EMPs are way overtuned. IMO the biggest problem they have is that you can essentially have 8 on the map at the same map at the same time. Every survivor holds one and then the crates generate the new one. I honestly feel like supply crates should be one or two. Or make a change to how fast they are generated.

  • Member Posts: 6,370

I planned to but 1. the feedback from console players hasn't been very good, and 2. I'm not good at multitasking and he seems to require a fair bit of that

  • Member Posts: 3,024

I would make crates as stations to cleanse not with emp and to be more menacing less time being slowed when reappear or 5% speed bonus and change iro add on

  • Member Posts: 1,726

    I prefer having a power.

Oh, they're infected? Cool! I can shred through pallets and have built in Endf--Oh, they just chain together windows and tiles so I can't do anything.

Okay, they're at a junk loop, so I can--- they have an EMP.

Okay, I finally injected them again and downed them, and--- all the gens popped.

i Play hin alot so much fun Singularity and my Main Dredge are the Killer i Play the most :)

but both sadly gets hard countered by Made for this

This is pretty much how every game of mine goes as survivor. Idk how people think he's bad he's incredibly strong in chase.

    Ditto

The main thing about Singularity is that he takes alot of practice and map knowledge to be effective, but once you start getting results from him, he becomes incredibly satisfying to use.

Of course, some tweaks for him as well as some for the EMP crates too would be appreciated, but overall i would say he's in a good state atm.

Disorienting to play, pretty boring and unskillful counterplay, and just feels a bit clunky with the pods.

Hell, I would even say Twins has a smoother in and out sequence when switching between victor.
