How the dev gonna handle gen rushing?

It the time I make a gen with only the toolbox from the anniversary with just scraps and socket

It's huge, it's quick, it's less than the half times from making a gen without perks/toolbox and alone, and it's not like it's somes super add-on, just one brown and a yellow one, and, the only perks who help me was streetwise

I don't see how the dev can do anithing about that, nerfing the toolbox and some perks, okey but... It gonna be enough? Increasing the times for making a gen is not a good solution, it gonna make all people who play survivor mad and a lot of them at this moment don't want to do gen anymore


How do you imagine the dev gonna do something? Like I said, even nerfing the perks and toolbox, I don't think it gonna do much, maybe I'm wrong..

Or Maybe you think that only nerfing PH and toolbox (with the brand new part) are gonna be enough?

    I think their answer to it was the healing nerf. They can’t have healing weak (as it is now) but also Gen repair weak (like it was before) because survivors would never escape their trials. And then people would stop playing that role, it would affect queue times, BHVR would lose out on the revenue they gain from survivor cosmetics, etc. so they have to be careful. Players must understand this game isn’t a murder simulator; it needs to at least have some semblance that either side can win.

    That was probably the most confuse thing about the nerf in 6.0.0...

    Why nerfing healing when you nerf gen regression from the killer side? Nerf the two of them, for me, that was the most logical thing to do, but it was not the case

    I can understand that, major nerf after major nerf, survivor gonna be very mad at BHVR because at one moment, it's just like Amanda, she did nothing wrong and got a slap in the snoot for no reason when everybody else got a beautifull buff and some love

    Gen repair times is fine i think. But toolboxes should be reworked. And gen progress perks needs nerfs too.

    You don't even need the BNP, like I said, with just a toolbox and brown/yellow add-on, 42 secondes is enough

    So, technically, with the BNP and a very good toolbox, is less than that, but survivor don't use these for the first gen, it's generally for the endgame


    How do you see a rework for the toolbox? and what is a gen progress perks for you? Deja Vu? PH? Hyperfocus? Resilience? You think all these perks need a nerf? Or some of them?

    Devs nerfed healing to compensate for nerfing generator regression, or vice versa. The goal was to make being injured riskier without making it impossible for survivors to finish enough gens to escape the trial (like it was before patch 6.1.2, I believe?). They can’t have strong healing and weak generator regression on the killer side, either.

    That's not what I mean

    It's just strange for me, nerfing the "gen perks" for killer, but not nerfing the "gen perks" in the same times for survivor

    Like, in the past, the dev try to nerf the healing perks and buff the anti healing perks in the same times, and it's some kind of logic

    Because killers don’t really have many perks that target survivor healing. Sloppy Butcher and Thanatophobia, I guess. They’re both very good. Killers had way more perks that slowed Gen repair to a crawl so it was easier and smarter to target that. Because if healing sucks for survivor (as it does now), and generator regression perks are very strong (as they were), survivors can’t heal efficiently because that’s been nerfed and they can’t repair gens because the killer’s perks are too oppressive. So they just die faster. Think 3-Gen but with terrible healing efficiency for survivors and extremely good Gen defense. Survivors wouldn’t be able to handle that. And it goes back to the first comment I made here.

    Imo, the perks regarding gen progress atm are in an alright spot -- though there should be limits to how much repair speed you can stack that way.

    As for toolboxes, I think the toolboxes themselves are fine. But I think add-ons could use some imagination. The speed add-ons should probably all be bumped one rarity level, with BNP getting a full rework (to e.g. once installed prevent the gen from regressing past the point where it got installed).

    Personally, I would like tollboxes for utility; an add-on, that while repairing a gen with the toolbox and using charges you work on the gen "ingognito"; you aura is hidden and perks like Discordance are not triggered. Given that toolboxes don't last forever you want to use a toolbox with that add-on strategically. Another one would be that installing the add-on in a generator traps it and a killer who kicks it has the blindness effect for X time. Or an add-on, that once installed gives survivors working on a gen when it is completed a mini-solidarity where their scratchmarks are hidden for a few seconds. Stuff along those lines.

    Altruistic healing speeds weren't touched at all, just cause you cant self heal in 10 seconds doesn't make healing weak.

    Toolboxes are the new medkits with 2-3 strong toolboxes in every lobby with a few PT and Resilience on top, it's getting beyond ridiculous now. Toolboxes shouldn't increase repair speed or if they intend to keep them that way then they need a medkit style rebalance, 24 charges each with no add ons increasing charges or speed.

    Altruistic healing speeds rightfully should not have been touched. Healing has been nerfed substantially, the biggest problem has always been medkits and self healing. No one’s ever had a problem with altruistic healing, it takes two players out the game. If you can’t see how this is a huge nerf to healing you either don’t play survivor or haven’t been playing long.

    Healing is weaker than it’s ever been and throw that on top of sloppy being very meta and you have your answer to why gens go fast.

    I doubt they are going to do anything to gen progression. It just makes early 3v1 games much easier and even more of a "free win." The whole cycle punishes people who don't use gen perks and who plays for hooks.

    The whole reason people "rush" is because they need to keep ahead in case a killer does want to tunnel early. Survivors more or less are playing with 3v1 in mind.

    Actually, altruistic healing was changed (nerfed). The devs reversed that change following the PTB because so many people complained it was a step too far. And when could anyone heal in 10 seconds? I can’t think of any perk or scenario + perk that allowed it.

    Agreed. The problem is not the normal game flow. Just as it was with healing, which is why many spoke out against the nerf to altruistic healing.

    The real problem is that everything can be dialed up to 11 and now you suddenly have survivors healing in 4 seconds and finishing gens in 45-ish seconds. On the other hand you also have the occasional survivor team, that isn't stacked with such items and would suffer immensely from random nerfs to action speed.
