Tips and Tricks
Does anyone have any tips on knowing if your solo team is going to be a failure before getting into the game? I doubt it but you never know until you ask.

Not really. My honest experience with solo teammates:
0-2000 hours= be ready for anything. May do well. May have consecutive sub-20 second chases against an M1 killer on Cowshed.
2000-3000= ideas will be sound, execution hit and miss
3000+= you're probably in good hands
And that all goes out the window if they're just goofing around.

honestly I wanna say flashlights sometimes?
I always get the people who do nothing trying to get flashlight saves and then suddenly I’m the guy who solos 4 gens or they all die before I do anything

If they are prestige zero, you know straight away they'll have terrible perks. It's usually the same when they're prestige one. If you can, you should check how much hours they have in the game to determine whether they are new or just bought a new character. If they are using a base game character as well it's probably safe to say they are new. If they actually have purchasable clothing it'll mean they spent a bit of time to get the iri shards.
Other than that you'll just have to trust your instincts.

If it looks like we joined a 3 man swf, usually we get left for dead
If theres 3 flashlights, 4/5 chance that theyre gona focus on blinds completely more than gens
If theres a key, 50/50 on that survivor being useless the match
These are just trends we've seen, most the problems comes after the first chase.

I dodge TTVs. The ones I get at my MMR have typically <10 viewers, 100% either completely new to the game and trying to figure things out, super-casuals, or I end up as a random in their SWF that just wants to mess a bit with the killer and die and I am the only one touching a gen all game.
Yet, whenever there’s a game with such a harmless TTV, killers go full sweat mode as if they were playing against a 8000 hour top MMR streamer with thousands of viewers.
Not fun.
Then I started dodging very high prestiges (say anything above 20). (After all, it’s shown in lobby, why show it if not to use it as an indicator for dodging?) Again, if you’re with such a playtime at my MMR you suck really, really badly (mostly), or you’re just another solo player who got handed down there because his teammates sucked (rarely), but most of the time, I noticed that the high prestige players I get are again super-casuals who love the game despite being bad at it, or they‘re really, really good and just want to bully the killer and die. And then killer gets mad and thinks I‘m with the bullies and I end up on the ground bleeding out with the killer nodding next to me though I have done nothing.
And finally, if the killer dodges then so do I because of backfill. If the game grabs the next available killer and I‘m at low MMR, that most likely means the killer is far too good for my teammates and it‘s another 4K at 5 gens game.

Nope. It's so hit and miss. I've had high Prestige team mates who go down in 10 seconds, who don't touch gens, who crouch in corners and let me go to second hook, who chuck a hissy fit and sandbag everyone or throw themselves in front of killer to go next. And I've had low Prestige team mates who are altruistic asf and run the killer for multiple gens.
I know some survivors dodge if they get matched with low hour survivors, but I've been playing for a few years now and fully switched platforms at the start of the year so my current account shows low hours yet I know how to play and carry my weight. And I'll die to get my team out. I honestly don't think there's any real 'tell' when it comes to team mates.

Nah, someone with a flashlight could either carry you or make the team lose the game by going down trying to save people.
A key could mean a god looper or someone who waits for everyone to die.
Prestige means jack.
Even someone with over 2000+ hours could spend the game hiding in the basement or sandbagging you because they're bored.
So unfortunately, no there really isn't much you can guess from the lobby. The only thing that would be helpful is seeing people's perks so you can dodge Left Behind & self-care players.

Not at all. Default skin survivors often are great disguises for very skilled players. 0 prestige survivors could well be P100 for another survivor or using a smurf account.
If anything, the only thing that has had some degree of success for me in guessing if someone is bad is if they have bright clothing and have flashlights, which even this isn't that accurate!
It's a crap-shoot. Just see how the game plays out and take it from there. I've been in trials where the survivor who went down 30 seconds into a trial ended up being mvp easily. You will just never know.

At least in my experience the #1 indicator of potentially giga wacky matchmaking quality that is always available is dodging. If the lobby is a revolving door going through several killers and survivors, don't be too surprised if things get weird in at least one way once the match starts.
