Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Did you know that Wraith's power was only speed?

Honestly blew my mind away when his power is just the un/cloak, and the speed. He doesn't get any buffs while it cloaked form (other than addons of course).

Do you think he should be buffed in his wraith form?

Unless you're positioned really well, that speed burst is getting you slapped most of the time if they know what they're doing. This is why is usually run medkits, there's some killers you don't want to be caught injured and wraith is one of them.

Remember when Wraith got like a 10% speed boost and people had to double stack Windstorm just to make his power useable?

That speed boost is actually pretty effective. I guess a very slight action speed bonus (like if Shadow Dance had a yellow variant) wouldn't go amiss but I'd argue the problem with Wraith isn't that he's weak per say but more that certain killers are just so much better than him.

idk hes low b tier right now but I dont think he needs buffs. Playing hit and run can be very very effective on him. Maybe he gets like, 20% faster pallet break in cloak basekit to help his chase.

meh i think his buff were wrong ones. i think he should got shorter uncloaking, like 2.5->2 and longer speed boost after uncloaking. like 1 second->1.5 seconds along with invisibility changes. he would be stronger in the chase.

The only problem I have with this is as killer (or survivor for any matter) you play to win.

Of course you can play another killer for fun, but overall you play to win. If Wraith is strong, why do I never face him as survivor? And I recently played him for a daily and he is objectively weak.

He has one "Finding" power, not a chase power, not a generator power, not an aura power, just a find survivor power.

Wraith is fine. He's the killer I have the most time on, and he feels pretty good right now.

My bing bong boi used to be far worse, appreciate what we have now.

I think them giving him windstorm base kit and then giving him the new windstorm base kit after the first one was enough. They already had to nerf him because the last base kit windstorm buff pushed him over the top. No need to touch the killer currently.

So are we forgetting completely invisible from 20 meters and beyond AND undetectable as part of his base kit?

Hey, at least he has the neat pulling animation. I actually really like that part of the mori. Rest of it sucks.

    Trapper's is even worse IMO.

Wraith is good noob stomper. He will always 4k against unaware survivors who don't know how to m1-loop and how to play it save. That's why a lot of people think he is strong.

But (depending on the map) his anti loop is almost useless against good opponents, you will eat through a lot of pallets. Yes hit&run got buffed, but from my experience, if they play it save and use their ressources efficiently, it will take a long time till you get the snowball rolling, and sometimes it's already too late and Adrenaline kicks in...

wraith suffers problems every other m1 killers do. but wraith can actually avoid them, you can catch people off guard (with his power). you just need to leave chases when they are around strong set ups.

I would honestly be so happy if they brought back his increase speed boost when he uncloaked tbh.

Because there are more fun killers to play? Nurse is also the strongest killer in the game. Do you see her more often than Wesker? I doubt it. Wraith is quite bare bones, I don't find him appealing at all, but when I face him he does decently especially now with the healing nerfs. Wraith is for people who like M1 killers, he's probably the strongest of the bunch. Killers like Wesker, Artist, Plague etc. offer a slightly higher skill floor but are more rewarding and fun to play, also why they are more versatile and can do more stuff in general.

If people started playing Wraith in huge numbers that would mean is overpowered atm. Plus, not everyone wants to win at any cost, otherwise you would not have thread after thread of killers complaining about gen speed and how they cannot two-hook everyone etc. They'd just do tunneling, 3-genning and proxy-camping and probably see better results. But they wanna win on their terms. Those people are a lot more common than the people playing anything that is overpowered at a current time. If anything there are also people who take it as a challenge and want to prove something and only decide to play a character when he is deemed too weak.

Wraith's strength is getting his first hit. I dunno how you played him, but he plays significantly different than other M1 killers from what I've seen. His speed allows him to block windows with his body in tiles survivors only have windows and pretty much zone them off. Plus he can mind game certain tiles when uncloacking with his speedboost. That's what you gotta learn what to do. If you simply find a survivor then uncloack and proceed to chase him for 40 seconds or more trying to down him, you're probably not playing as he is supposed to be played.

I dunno. Pretty sure his power also comes with him becoming translucent, losing his TR, and being outright invisible at a distance.

Screw that, remember when Wraith's bell played during the entire uncloak animation instead of starting halfway through? Or when he couldn't interact with his environment at all? Or was slowed down when cloaking? Or when his bell was map wide AND directional?

Yeah, Bing Bong has come a very long way.

The funny thing is you could say the same thing about Blight... it's uuhhh pretty effective.

When you had to fully uncloak to check lockers. And had to use Windstorm to get a post-uncloak speed boost.

Oh they were the dark days.

When they used to do Cube updates in general

    I feel old.

Wraith definitely has all the ingredients that our no questions asked S-tier killers have.

    Wraith can:

    • Traverse the map quickly
    • Hit survivors while traversing the map quickly

In addition to his surprise factor. The two bullets above also make him an effective tunneler. His addons are very strong as well with good variety in his abilities and number adjustments to his power.

I would leave him unchanged and my eyebrows always raises when a pro player says Wraith is weak.

There was someone who played Wraith vs a pro team on an Hens video I believe (and he was a beast, he also claimed to not have lost any game since patch 6.1)

Very cool video. And very different results from when Tru3 played against a Pro (Ayruns?) SWF a few years back.
