Why is this game so frustrating as killer
I have like 3 games and then get a headache, even when I'm getting 4ks all the time it used to be so fun plus the survivors aren't helping, what did I do to deserve the god awful, heart wrenching, life threatening t-bags😭
Also if ur gonna get mad at this post keep it to yourself I'm having a good week don't spoil it

Honestly if you care about survs tbagging idk what to say. Quit this game. Clearly you aren't having fun and you just get mad at survs so might be healthier doing that.

It’s not a bit surprising to me that the next big multiplayer asymm horror game being released feature a team of killers. Killer is a stressful, lonely role in this game.
Some people love it, others hate it. Some people used to love it but have switched to survivor mostly now. It’s easy to see why.
For me, I still enjoy killer. Or at least I enjoy my mains because they’re fun to play irrespective of the outcome of the match.

If you are getting 4ks then the game sounds enjoyable and playable for you. It's really been living up to the "DEAD" in "dead by daylight" lately
6 -
Ur getting 4ks and the game aint fun? Maybe take a break then, try a new game or idk
2 -
You can get all 4k's and still not be having fun. It's possible. It's because you have to deal with constant toxicity and no room for error to acquire those 4k's after a certain point.
Just some friendly advice from someone who knows what it's like:
I used to (I say this in past tense but idk tbh) be a super sweaty killer. And like you, the game isn't fun for me. I started playing a lot of surv, mostly because I stream it..but it's also nice to see things from both sides.
I also get mad at things like tbagging, and clickers, and just all kinds of various forms of BMing..unfortunately, it will likely never stop. So try to adjust your mindset, even though it's hard.
Anyway...when I play now...I just want to chill, I have close to 5k kills in the short time i've been addicted, so I realize the majority of the survivors I face are very good. And when you have 4 very good survivors in a SWF. It's not a good time.
However...I choose not to sweat now..I just let the match unfold naturally, I make it a point to try not to camp or tunnel (even though I know this will lose me my perfect 4k)..and because I realize how hard it is to actually survive as a survivor now..I'm a lot more lenient...if a surv does something I deem cute or adorable..prob gonna let them live...I had a surv I wanted to let go, but once she trusted me and came over..her teammates thought they could too and all came out...at that point, I would've felt bad killing them...so I just let them all go.
I don't slug for the 4k (unless a team is super toxic) so i'm okay w the last person getting hatch or giving the gate....it's a more positive gameplay. If they are toxic however, I will be toxic back. But only if someone or a team is blatantly going out of their way JUST to be toxic.
I'm not telling you how to play, but suggesting casual gameplay as killer is just a better experience. It improved my overall killer experience. I still 3/4k, sometimes effortlessly..but tbh if it seems too easy, I assume i've been mismatched and typically get hooks and let them all go..I have no business facing baby survs. GL, try not to let it get to you.

I feel like because it requires constant attention whereas with survivor, you get breaks. If you know the killer is busy, you can just plant yourself on a gen and not worry for abit. This is why alot of streamers can be way more active with their chat while playing survivor vs playing killer.

I feel like you guys vastly overrate how stressful killer is, if you don't want to be in high-mmr where survivors sweat and bully, stop playing for 4k's like your life is on the line.
I play Killer to Iri 1 virtually every season and all my games are casual and fun without even farming.
11 -
Play casual and enjoy the game. Don't stress about kills. I personally prefer multiple hooks to kills and often end with 1k or zero k. But I play trickster and he's fun if you're not looking to 4k.
Ghost face is my favourite especially on an indoor map. Love scaring the life out of survivors as you appear around a corner.
Not the best killers but as I said, I just have fun.
1 -
Because YOU are letting it be frustrating.
T-bagging😂
5 -
Aight, so stop going for a 4K. Go for 12 Hooks.
You need to let go of the concept of needing to "win", but then you can focus on the chases themselves more, and in this case MMR will help you have less stressful matches. If you play giving yourself the hardest handicap by setting the hardest goal (12 Hooks), not only do you yourself understand that this goal is unlikely, but because you're chasing it in order to get a 4K, that is also the effort MMR will equalize for you having a 4K to begin with. And any lesser effort will reap greater rewards (In this case less stressful gameplay)
Ergo, play casual and get casual matches.

Maybe civilisation?

I think people have a point saying that if you're going for the 4k (win) it's going to be stressful regardless. And this is true for any game where you make winning a big deal, especially games that have ranked. Trying to climb the ranked ladder in games is usually quite stressful and frustrating and not fun, unless you find it fun to refine your playstyle and win at whetever cost. Some people would rather not deal with that stuff and have an achievable rank they try to get to, since usually it also awards rewards and that's what they're mostly after.
Just scour reddit for the countless posts in League of Legends subreddits where people write about their rank anxiety or frustration with the tryhard part of the game etc. Try-harding can tire you out, whether the game is DBD, Chess, Basketball, Mario Party etc. It's not the game's fault, it's your perception. You have to change your way of thinking or play something else. If you've played this game without breaks for a year or more it's bound to get old. It's inevitable.

They are actually Texas Chainsaw Massacre has 3 killers and 4 survivors in one match.
0 -
I don't care I was being sarcastic and having a joke idk how u couldn't see that 💀

I disagree with you. I quit playing killer because it became unfun and stressing. If you dont play on a fast moving killer you are really in a hurry, because gens start popping before you get 1 hook.
3 -
That's because you've 4k'd yourself into an MMR where people play efficiently.
Most of the survivors in my killer games run around for the most part or try and meme on me.
If you play to win every game, you can't really be upset if the game puts you against other people playing to win.
2 -
Unsure if you're meaning an actual headache or a figurative one, but if it is an actual headache you are getting, I recently came back and was getting them after about an hour or so of play, and have found that turning the graphics settings all the way to low massively helped with this!

While your reply hold some truth, its not the full picture, there have been added a lot of gen rushing to the game and on top of that, the killers regression perks keep getting nerfed (pop just got corrected because it was nerfed way too hard) and the gens only got +10 secs on repair time, too little to make it up for that.. The result is that every second count more now, so on a slow killer where you spend 30 secs more on travel time than a faster killer, it can only result that the match will be more stressing.
It also happens on killers i dont have much playtime on. And if i understod correctly, the mmr are individual for every killer (feel free to correct me if im mistaken here).

Prove Thyself got nerfed and BNP's got changed to require a lot more thought to be useful. The only recent buff to gen speeds is Deja Vu which isn't very common.
Pain Res, Pop, Corrupt, and Deadlock are all still A tier perks that are regression based.
Its only stressful if you let it be stressful or if you're playing at a level where the games are very competitive and thus, should be stressful.
When I used to tryhard on Killer, there were plenty of games where I would feel stressed out and frustrated if it didn't go my way, but I realized that I was creating this dynamic with the game and that it was entirely a self-made problem. You don't get anything from winning in this game aside from the satisfaction of winning, which these days I can substitute the same feeling for just playing well.
My Killer experience has never been more fun since I changed mindsets, I don't farm every game nor do I completely troll, I play normally but ease up on really going that extra mile for the 4k so my MMR doesn't get too high again.
Reap what you sow tbh.
2 -
If you’re overwhelming survivors early on, do you slow yourself down (like hit them but let them heal up while maybe you watch from a corner)? Or do you sweat their backsides
0 -
"what did I do to deserve the god awful, heart wrenching, life threatening t-bags"
----
You chose the killer role and selected Find a Match. That's your problem right there...
1 -
Honestly if you care about community members whining idk what to say. Quit checking the forums. Clearly you aren't okay with others submitting their complaints and you just tell members what to do so might be healthier doing that.
3 -
Most important goal of the game is to get 2 hook states on everyone without camping, tunneling, or bloodlusting. In which I will literally ignore someone on a gen in front of me to find someone I haven't 2-hooked yet.
By the time I usually reach this either my opponents are better and escape or its usually one or two gens left. If they get owned really bad I'll usually just farm it out but even with the worse teams I play vs its rarely ever more than 3-2 gens needing to be finished; I still get the most points in the game and pips so its still fun.
I will also say its dramatically helped me get better at using killer powers since I try to spam them as much as possible.
2 -
Play with some personality. Do some weird mind games. Act the fool. Let the survivors know you're not sweating. Just have fun chases and don't focus on winning. This game doesn't even have a win condition.

The game is no fun if you are forced to run 4 gen slowdown's as killer. Why play if you dont have any freedom to make your own builds?
I think your argument is faulty. For the simple reason that the mmr should auto correct it self to matches that were less sweaty when i got 0K's,
No matter what, i dont think i will ever main killer again, unless the game get a srastic change, and i doubt it will. As soon as the side with the fewest players gets a buff, the side with the most players become very loud on how unfair it is.
After switching to survivor main :
- i have relaxed games.
- i have fun games.
- i have freedom to choose the perks i like.
- im not getting stressed.
- i can use all the time i want (with the exception of people needing a hook save).
Why would i ever go back to killer ?
4 -
If your forum name is any indicator of why you're not having fun, I'd agree lol. Try Trapper! :D
1 -
It's why I don't play half as much killer as I do survivor.
Sure, I win most of my killer games as I think most of us do but the process of getting that win is often frustrating and feels more like work than fun. Dealing with toxic survivors can put me off even touching killer for weeks afterwards and I think if you are like me then probably just play survivor.
I tend to get to Iri 1 for my points at reset and do challenges etc but I play survivor mostly
1 -
No one is saying you have to run four slowdowns. Your claim was that Gen rushing got buffed while Gen regression got nerfed into being useless which isn't true.
If you've catapulted yourself into a certain mmr bracket due to tryharding you will be stuck there unless you lose an overwhelming majority of your games. Which is how it should be to prevent players from intentionally tanking their mmr to stomp noobs.
Regardless, if you don't want to play killer anymore that's your choice. Just know its entirely a self-made problem and not at all reflective of the current balance of the game. Killer has never been smoother to play or as strong as it is now.
1 -
Getting 4ks should be stressful. As time has gone on the developers seem to want to make getting 4ks harder and harder to achieve and I see nothing wrong with that. Killers shouldn't be guaranteed a 4k with little to even moderate effort. Survivor is simply the more casual side of the game and by being a Survivor you will have a much less stressful time and can even get lucky and escape regardless of what you did during the match. This is the way it has to be. There is no fixing that feeling of stress Killers feel, because if a Killer makes a mistake its all on them and they can't blame a team mate whereas Survivors have other people they can blame (at times) if something goes wrong.
I completely would agree that some maps are far too big and many are not perfectly balanced, but we'll have to wait for them to rectify the map issues as time goes on. Map design is the biggest imbalance in DBD and has been for quite some time. :/

Im not sure where you picked up the idea that "Killer has never been smoother to play or as strong as it is now." but that is defo not true, ect. killers have been able to mori with 0 hooks. -
(otzdarva have also made a video where he explains exactly how easy killer have been, but im not going to dig through them to prove a point, but you are more then welcome to find it on your own).
I would also suggest you watch this video, im not going to do the full math yet again, i have done it in the past but you are welcome to do it on your own, every number u need is on the dbd wiki
Its not fully up to date, but in most cases its accurate.
2 -
Otz also has a video (many, really) talking about how bad solo queue still is.
1 -
How is that relevant to what we are discussing now?
2 -
you are making fun of people but i mean, it is kind of normal people get upset when they are disrespected. it's a game, losing it shouldn't be made a bad thing. good sports is important
0 -
Lol, just bc I like one killer doesn't mean I only play them haha are you thick
0 -
I think it's because dbd is 1vs4 it's just too great advantage and you're just alone and have to work for 4 times more for the win. I hope they do killer next which is playable by 2 people, making the game 2vs4. That kind of killer should be S tier if played by friends with coordination. Twins could already been that killer other would play victor and other charlotte.
1 -
It's the controlling aspect. Why is it that survivors, in any given match, have enough time to tbag while the killer's sweating their butt off to settle for the draw? They tbag and all die? Cool. But usually they get away with it, because they have a foolproof map and perk set-up.
2 -
Because before you edited your post you used an analysis of his as an example of how bad killer is. I was pointing out that he’s also said the same thing about survivor.
1 -
The only thing i edited was that i put in a video more to support what i said. So this^ is completley nonsense.
Edit : And since your Quote includes both video links, your comment was after the edit i made.

This is why we need a general killer nerfs, refuse to listen killer's complaints, and just go back to 2018-2019.
Even at 4K or 3K these people won't be satisfied.
It used to be "Oh we barrely get more than 1 kill"
Then was "Hatch is not balanced,it deprives the killer of their hard earned 4k"
How about that survivor that just got screwed over by the team/rng map/killer.
Now they don't even feel good absolutely destroying the survivors.
BHVR you spoon fed the killer community and now the game's unplayable as survivor..

Yes, and every time survivors complain about how unfair it feels to face 2 coordinated killers on comms, it can always be countered with "friends just want to play together, you can't stop that."

It's because matchmaking is god awful. Half the games you've got to sweat because you're up against a god squad way out of your skill level and the other half of the games you come into them super sweaty because the god squads have just bullied you for five games in a row only to find you're up against brand new players and you either rage stomp them or just get no enjoyment because they're all dropped after 5 seconds of chase. If matchmaking was programmed to make queues take longer to evenly match games then you could have good games that might come down to the last second for both sides instead of the stomps we have now, making your skill actually worth something.
