Why is demogorgon best add on gonna get nerfed to ground???
It's not like demogorgon is very strong killer and he is not either in store anymore so why are devs priorisiting nerfing him over some other killers who are much stronger and more problematic blight add ons, skull merchant 3 genning comes to mind. If anything demogorgon should be buffed not nerfed.

Their priorities are certainly very skewed at present.
Half the time, I wonder whether they deliberately ignore the more complained-about perks because it makes for an entertaining read on the forums their end!

This makes me sad, I love a teleporting Demogorgon. Now all we're going to see is Barb's Glasses combo again. Since there's no reason for his portals now

Yeah I don't see anyone complaing about demogorgon but rather everyone loves him. I guess the add on was too popular so they decided to nerf it... I do hope they revert this nerf like they did with hillbilly engravings.

Honestly, I have no idea. Poor Demodog is already the only killer you can't buy anymore, it seems weird BHVR would nerf him like this.

I feel like the changes intention is they want things to be centralized around a killers power and even if Demogorgon is not problematic this addon checked enough boxes on things they intend to normalize among all killers with a specific set of rules. I cannot recall which dev said it but it was mentioned that other addons are also problematic but this one was easier to change regarding coding. They likely have a list of problematic ones or addons that do not follow new generalized rules they plan to keep addons inline with and this one just checked enough boxes.
Not saying it's a good change but I'm trying to rationalize why. That being said I don't think it's going to kill the killer - At least other addons were buffed and personally I'll take more accessible common / uncommon addons getting buffed that I'll use every game over an iri.

This add on made demo A tier so it's big nerf and I can use it about every 1/3 of games I play on demo so huge thing for me it's also my favourite add on in the game 😭. They should buff demo basekit to compensate at least and he is quite clunky on console so before they netf him they should buffed him.

Otz makes a video and suddenly it is Demos best Add On. After Otz called it that. Before that, it was considered a "weak" Add On which did not need nerfing.

I'm betting it's just one person at BVHR looking at an excel spreadsheet and the only thing that's looked at is the amount of times X add on its used then nerf it without looking at why it's being used so often. Its usually because most other add ons are garbage or near worthless to use. They should balance add ons to make them more enjoyable and usable instead of letting most add ons be just wasted space.
Doesn't make sense they would spend resources to nerf an add on that nobody complains about yet refuse to nerf Blights problematic add ons that players complained for years. Or some scummy high position dev at BVHR mains Blight and demands that Blight is left alone.

I agree with your sentiment.
regardless, add-on did not need negative changes. it was only aspect keeping demo relevant to be played. now he is forced to use black heart, an add-on that provides very minor amount of cooldown for shred that does basically nothing due to speed boost on hits and his entire portal power is not worth using for anything other than maybe proxy camping hook gameplay which is boring.
it is more interesting to use portals to ambush survivors at gens then to camp. add-on promotes attempting to do that by giving info to ambush survivors at gens or healing.

Well in my opinion it's best and favourite. Other his add ons are not much use for me than the cooldown ones and maybe the purple for devour build. But aura reading is very powerful.

I think map-wide spammable wallhacks was widely considered his best addon the second it came out. Who was calling that weak?
He did get a buff to his stealth at the same time. He should be able to traverse a considerable distance while undetectable with the right addons moving forwards

I think you might actually confuse it with oni aura reading add on which is not weak or strong in my opinion. But demos iri is 100 times better.

I would argue that Barbs glasses is his best addon but it does seem odd to nerf anything about demogorgon in general.

As a demo main the iri combo is kinda cracked. On it's own it's fine but combine it with the other iri add on and it's nuts.
Like it's my lazy option when I just want to dominate a game with relative ease. Kinda weird to focus on tweaking demo (which is not available to get anymore) when there are other more relevant killers way more in need of balancing.

I have caused some survivors probably heart attack with them... I think they're fun and balanced. Iri add ons are supposed to be good too.

It has been suggested that, since the developer who designed Blight left, BHVR has no idea how Blight works. The longer Blight goes without being touched, the more likely this seems.
Nerfing an add-on I never see for a killer I see once in a blue moon is ridiculous. Not just nerfing, gutting. This is an absolute evisceration of the add-on. Poor Demo, he doesn't deserve this. If BHVR's going to touch the Stranger Things chapter, why couldn't it be to fix Nancy's face?

I wouldn't say his best addon is getting nerfed into the ground since it still gives aura reading for everyone while traveling, but I will say that it is fkin HILARIOUS how they are going out of their way to nerf Demo when even a killer like a tunneling Wesker is a way bigger issue. naw screw Demo bro fk that dude much deserved nerf. Oh wait don't worry with the addon that encourages you to use portals way more we are going to give you a bunch of worthless placebo buffs to portals which do piss all. That makes up for the nerf =)

Sounds like back when they nerfed Pig by making her follow some "rule" that she's one of the few (if not only) killers that still follow the rule. That's one of the reasons "Nerf Pig" became such a meme.... They gave reasons for their nerfs, which made sense but then released new killers that by all right SHOULD follow the same rules as Pig, but doesn't. Her terror radius was changed from 24m to 32m to "standardize killer terror radius based on movement speed" but later killers don't follow this rule (and still don't.)

I'm a little disappointed at the nerf, but it was a little too strong. It'll still be pretty good, just gotta place portals towards the outside to get a better view while portalling.

I remember this change - I understand it but I feel compensation for the nerf wasn't that great but I try to think what power level is she meant to be with her kit in the first place.
This is what I imagine is going through BHVR's mind when they make strange changes - It may not be strong or weak it's just ticking enough boxes on what they want to be consistent across the board with all killers on how something behaves.
That being said there are some balance changes I don't understand what takes so long unless a full rework is planned. Notably Alchemist Ring for Blight. I'd have to understand BHVR's pipeline with balancing to really get in their mind and not view the change poorly.

If blight can go without any nerf there is no any reason to nerf demo that add on makes him A tier killer for me so it's not too strong.

Yh for sure. There are killers that definitely needed rebalancing much more than demo. I honestly don't know why they are messing with him, sonce he isn't even buyable anymore. I'm just going to be optimistic and take it as a sign that maybe stranger things is going to make a return 🤞

That is very optimistic take indeed. I would like it very much I didn't buy nancy back then I just started playing seriously in september 2021 so I though she was no more than skin and my friend advice not to buy her for perks which become free... But she is in fact very funny sounding skin. I do really like some of her cosmetics but back then I didn't even have any cosmetics. Well my friends at least don't have any of them even they started playing in late 2020s.

Yh i got lucky, started playing august 2022 and got hold of a physical copy of the nightmare editiom for xbox. (Only way to get stranger things in xbox currently)
But I'd love to be able to buy more cosmetics, particularly for demo as he's my killer main.
Plus if they did stranger things I reckon they'd do a chapter with vecna as a killer which could be really cool.

Everyone seems to be discussing why they nerfed Demo via this addon. My perspective has been the opposite. Why are they "buffing" another killer via nerfing Demo?
I feel Alien fills a similar role to Demo, and in an attempt to increase sales and playrate (and overall success) of the Alien chapter/killer, they want Alien to be the more appealing option. Nerfing Demo feels like it could potentially, drive some Demo enthusiasts to Alien.
I am not saying they need to do this to make Alien successful. What I am saying, is they could make it even more successful.
Hopefully, enough people will voice feedback regarding the nerf for them to revert it (or not release it to live).

That's late, how much they cost? It's really unfortunate they were removed in 2021 when ST season 4 came out in 2022 like in 2021 most already forget the series almost. Vecna would make really cool killer. But netflix wants instead make those puzzle games...

I really hate when devs do this. They take a mid of the pack killer and buff some addons which a C-tier killer deserves, but the just to please the other side they nerf also even if it's not needed at all. It's just to keep as many people as happy as possible on both sides.

Me neither but BHRV probably thinks survivors will complain if they see Demo only getting addon buffs, so they nerf something to keep them quiet. Everytime I have seen mediocre or even bad killers getting addon changes there have been addons also getting nerfed when it was not needed. Idk what their goal is sometimes.

I don't think single person would complain about demo that just not even option and if someone do I don't think dbd is right game for them. Demogorgon is just probably most beloved killer in the game.
