I Hate Balance

Now LISTEN! I dont think that changing really overpowered things is bad persay, but I thinkthe way dbd does it is somewhat anti-fun.

Both sides should be allowed to have good perks / powers. I dont think MFT needs to be nerfed because its fun, and can be used in fun builds. This goes for overpowered killer perks and powers too. Trying to ruin everything to make the game "more balanced" because some whiney people are complaining is stupid and people will always find a way to complain about something. I think te way to make the game more fun and even more "balanced" will be to BUFF things. Buff fun perks and playstyles! Make it so survivors dont want to genrush, and make it so killers dont want to camp or tunnel because its not as fun.

I play this game to have fun, but it feels like so many people dont. IF you find youself complaining non stop about everything, please take Mathew Cote's advice and play a different game for a week.

If we would buff ALL and I mean ALL Killers in the game to the point the worst Killer in the game as A tier on a level of Huntress lets say, then sure then we can have Survivors have 3 health states, can insta sabo hooks, have endurance left right, but then the Killers also need to be able to keep up and have short chases, for every single Killer.

We would have to make Trapper OP for example.

Balancing around "fun" is extremely subjective. Like you've stated, you think camping and tunneling aren't "fun" but it surely can be "fun" for some killer players.

On the topic of "MFT is FUUUUNNN" I could make a better argument for old DH being more "fun" than MFT because atleast with old DH you can claim that getting a well timed "parry" felt good to do. Meanwhile MFT is just "oh i got hit, i run 3% faster now".

Both sides are allowed to have good perks, aslong as those perks dont make the matches miserable to play.

    I agree with the sentiment.

I think, in our endless pursuit of balance, we've lost a lot of what made the game fun in the past.

The problem is, typically something imbalanced is only fun for the person using it and not the other side. Old DH: fun for survivors, not so fun for killers. Insta-moris: Fun for killers, not survivors. The more imbalanced something is, the more fun the side that has access to it will have, and the less fun the other side will.

This, I remember having more fun the first year or 2 I played than ever. It was an unbalanced hellworld at that time. Though that could also just be burnout and my memory gone hazy lol.

It's crazy because I think so much of it was good for balance sake but it just sucked the life out of it

But it feels like they arent allowed to have fun perks. I agree dh was more fun but I do honestly think MFT is fun I like going faster and theres nothing wrong with that. Its just any fun perks we get, get nerfed immediatley.

Is MFT a fun perk? It's good but I wouldn't really describe it as fun. It's no blast mine or pebble.

Old DH and MFT might seem fun to you but its extremely unfun for killers when they have no counterplay.

Alternatively one could argue that slowdown with COB, erup and OC was "fun" for killers , but not as enjoyable for survivors.

Can't have busted perks on the excuse of "well it is FUUUUUNNN"

Yeah MFT isnt fun at all. Pebble, Blastmine, Red Herring, etc. are fun perks.

I want more garbage perks that are more fun / funny than anything lol.

There are games I do enjoy playing out and games I don't. I pick and choose now, and swap games when my timer gets too long.

As a constantly evolving game which has regular perk changes, killer adjustments, map rng and such, the quest for "balance" is unobtainable. The devs can make as many adjustments as they wish but it won't satisfy neither the idea of balance, nor what everyone perceives as balance.

An example of this would be the idea of a balanced map. A lot of people have shown frustration of map design and balance, although there is no example of what a balanced map would be like. This is because one person's perception of a balanced map will not meet another's.

The only thing they can really do is adjust reactively to the most pressing areas of concern. Sometimes, the devs create the appearance that they do changes to things people aren't concerned with to avoid bigger problems (Blight's add-ons; MFT stacks and endurance as 2 examples). It's probably not the case, but they create their own problems by doing this.

They should be more reactive to the most pressing issues, rather than worry about balancing unrequested changes.
