tips on having fun playing DBD again?
recently i've tried to play a bit of matches & somehow i don't really find it "exciting" that much anymore. die or escape as a survivor main, it doesn't really feel as if i've "achieved" something as i used to before. how can i change my point of view on this? i think it might be due to my "burn-out" since i played it like the whole days the last week, so that may be why i got "bored" of it & i just probably need to take a break from it a bit, but the thing is, even when i do enjoy playing it, it doesn't feel "casual" nor simply fun, just literally competitive and concentrating. there may be sometimes funny matches that i truly love, but overall, i just wanna simply enjoy a horror game everytime i play it, or at least almost of the time.(which isn't really horror anymore but still, you get the idea).

There's nothing you can do besides take breaks. Come back for a couple days take a longer break. If you have to eat #########, best not to nibble. Bite, chew, swallow, repeat. It goes quicker. 😂
Until the DEVs do some big changes to the game play it's going to continue to be a competitive game

I was having HORRIBLE matches for like a month. I took a break and played re4 remake and when I came back the matches that I considered horrible before were actually fun again.

I stopped caring what happens in a match. If it's obviously a turd soup sandwich I do whatever can to have fun. Do I care if it's annoying to killer? No.
I had a nurse that was slugging at 5 gens trying to find me, I had inner strength, lucky break, distortion and plot twist. I kept picking everyone up and running away. Everyone would get downed and if I needed to, I'd heal. Rinse, repeat. I got everyone up 4 times laughing my ass off the whole time.

Only play killer if you want fun, survivor is just depressing atm. I'm a life long surv main but now I'm trying clown, onryo among other new killers and altho I prefer survivor it's just not the survivor I used to know. Plus dev's buffed killers so much they take hardly any skill to get 3k-4k instantly with which is what I've found (this shouldn't be the case but it is). So yh play killer if u dont want to be depressed.

Maybe get some custom lobbies together.
Public playlists are full of sweaty salty players but a custom is nice and chill, no bp or ranks to worry about so people just kick back and chill. Test new builds, muck around with mechanics.

Come up with challenges to do on your own. The base game gets ultra boring after a while so you kind of have to come up with your own mini games within the game to keep the same love for it.

Stop playing the game
I'm serious, if you actually want to keep playing it - you will get the itch and come back. That's how I do it, if the game's not stimulating I stop until my brain decides I want more of it. Could be a week. Could be a month or could be when there's new content to explore

Run random perks. Instead of running the "meta" and being fast at gens or fast at escape, do something random and make it amusing for yourself.
Don't worry, if you are solo q, the other 3 will load up on gen perks so you won't be hurting the team lol.

Just find your own fun. The plus side of changing platforms recently means I get to do all the tome challenges again, so that gives me purpose in each game and makes me feel like i achieved something. So if you have any left to do then go for it. Same with dailies. I don't go out of my way to get them done, since I don't want to potentially throw the game in the process, but in solo queue alot of people just seem to stand around doing nothing anyway so I don't feel too bad. I'm always doing something.
If that doesn't work, just take a break. I actually haven't played in a few days. I go through periods like this all the time.

Firstly, absolutely take a break. Burnout will make even booting up the game feel a slog, so try something different for a bit. Cote was absolutely right about his "Civilization" comment; it was just a large number of idiots didn't have the understanding to interpret it well enough.
When you choose to start playing again, avoid the traps of "what optimum builds to use", "which killer is S-tier", "what is the meta" conversations and do not let them influence you into having a fun game. You can win the vast majority of your games with any perks, if you focus more on your skill as a player. The meta only really makes a difference at pro levels, which is why they're often boring and predictable to watch.
Thirdly, make your own win conditions. Winning doesn't have to be about escaping or getting the 4k. Go to the DBD randomizer page and bring up some odd challenges. Make some up! Just enjoy the game how you wish to play it.
Finally, challenge yourself. There's no challenge in running the same build over and over because an influencer said it's the best. From experience, they are talking from a position that doesn't have a relevance from where most casual players are, as they are talking about being optimal. You don't have to - or need to - be their definition of optimal. You need to be enjoying the game. People play far better when they enjoy something, rather than repeat the same dredgery time and time again. You'll be surprised how useful a lot of perks actually are.

Go in with low expectations. I'm not even being sarcastic. If you go in telling yourself you're going to, for example, try to have short chases even if it means losing generators, it's a lot easier to deal with bad games.
Or, try some challenges. Otzdarva's perk streak challenges seem like they'd be a nice challenge.

I too feel this as well as a survivor main. I have been looking for tips and one I have found is try different builds to change things up a bit. Another thing I do is play killer more than I used to and I enjoy that much more.

Funny, i feel the other way around. I stopped playing killer because it was unfun, stressing and depressing.
As survivor i have fun, freedom to mix perks as i like, and i have all the time i want. (a few killers scares tf. out of me tho)
