Xenomorph

Y'all need to be honest...how many of you have really escaped the Xenomorph? I have had one escape. He either got tired of the 4k or nature was calling.

Can't tell you since I haven't played survivor in a bit but I can tell you I have had a lot of survivors escape when I'm playing xeno. Last three nights I have had a total of 3 or 4 kills as xeno. Most nights I get on avg 1 kill every 5 games. So yeah...I'm having the opposite experience from most xeno players :-/

Sometimes I escape, sometimes I do not.

    It depends on

    A) how good is my team

    B) how good is the Xeno

Usually when I lose A) was bad - very bad.

When I play Xeno, everything is possible. I have teams which deny me more than 3 hooks and then I kill a lobby with 4 gens left. Both things possible (I dont use Gen-Perks, only Chase- and Infoperks)

Out of 15 games I escaped 5(4 if you don't count hatch )times usually depends if the xeno gets 2 downs before the first two gens pop

I'm the type of survivor that tends to die in early in chases and because of that they are on the objective game as that's how we find our fun

And I'm currently in lower mid mmr judging by how I see the occasional ghostface so I say I'm not surprised since the xeno is oppressing in that mmr range lol

I have won 19/21 games as Xeno (full sweat mode)

I didn't count my escape stats but I know for a fact they are much lower.

That last part is where I am at.

This is a game, this is supposed to be fun. I play the game to take a break from stress and such in the real world at work.

This game is no longer fun 7 of 10 matches since it will be Xeno.

So, now I play less and have to find a different game for fun. I still wish the Devs would give the survivors the chance to see the killer just like the killer sees the survivors. Perks are locked for both sides before you see who you are up against (so all the people saying perks can hard counter certain killers) but it would give people a choice. I think it would be an interesting experiment much like the hiding prestige experiment. Be interesting to see how the player base as a whole feels about certain killers. If I'm a developer of this game, I would want to see what killer is dodged constantly and try to figure out why.

    I've escaped once lmao

    Been about half and half.

One thing that works against them (and basically any killer that doesnt have mobility) is just predropping and holding W which is basically the only thing you can do (unless there are turrets nearby) since you can't react to when he goes for a tail attack, and the hitbox looks jankier than a Huntress with ping higher than me after a depressing saturday night

So yes, I have escaped many times. How ever I never really felt like I had fun doing so since there was no mindgames outplays on either side.

None, luckily I'm not seeing Xeno every game.

I've escaped 4 out of 7 times it's completely team dependent, not the type of killer you can solo carry against.

If they try hard and tunnel first person found you're not escaping no

Well, I'm pretty good at the game and try to figure out a killer's counterplay instead of whining about them being too strong on the forums, so I've escaped quite often. As solo Q even. Actually made one DC earlier today. https://streamable.com/erv2oa

I’ve got a good ratio of escapes against it. Several deaths were not really due to its power but rather the way the killer was playing. Tunneling and such

I escaped a bunch of xenos and would've escaped more if my teammates didn't throw the moment they show xeno / got downed.

If they do nothing else, if they don't change add-ons or the tail or whatever, this needs to be done:

Xeno can not be allowed to play any indoor map, be it PD, Game or Silent Hill. The turrets are absolutely miserable to set up in there and the AoE is too small with all the walls. I'm not sure how they can do it, but there has to be some way to classify Xeno as a type of killer and not allow them to be on those maps.

at 25 sec into your video you would be dead if the killer hadn't aimed way way way too high or something funky was going on. crouching after a vault is not a reliably counter like on nemesis since the tail hitbox works completly different. so yes, so you got lucky.

I can say the same for killer.

I main Pig for the most part. 9/10 matches that I play are sweat fests where survivors finish 2 - 3 gens before my first down, deny me my first down with bodyblocks, "commit" to gens in my face, send me to maps of their choice and run the best stuff possible.

I do win these matches but do you think it's fun for me?

Xeno is a fun killer to play because you feel like you have the ability to do something in most situations. Same with Wesker and Blight. Guess what? That's why you see them this often.

These killers are string enough so that the killer player can have fun.

    It goes two ways.

Survivors do objective very fast = no fun for killer

Killer does objective very fast = no fun for survivor

Killer power is strong and gives possibility for success in many situations = no fun for survivor

Killer power is weak and does not give possibility for success in many situations = no fun for killer.

  • radiantHero23

    This goes two ways:

Killer does objective fast = survivors have no fun

Survivors do objective fast = killer has no fun

Killers power is strong and gives possibility for success in many situations = survivors have no fun

Killers power is weak and does not give possibility for success in many situations = killer has no fun

Killer disrupts the survivors doing their objective = survivors have no fun

Survivors disrupt the killer doing their objective = killer has no fun

I main pig and 9/10 matches are a complete sweat fest because the power is "underwhelming". I lose 2 - 3 gens for my first down VERY often. I have survivors sending me to their comfort maps VERY often.

I do win most of these games but I can't say they are fun matches.

If he didn't have access to his m1 then you'd have to perfect his tail attack which is a nuisance sometimes. The hit box on it very strange and misses a lot for me.

I haven't had a terrible time against xeno.

I've escaped like 60-70% of my matches against him. Idk if my mmr has just been throwing me weaker killer players recently or something but xeno just doesn't seem that scary to me.

Best bet with turrets is set them up around high walls so xeno has less chance to spot them. In chase it's breaking LOS.

But on this one I think I'm just getting lucky and getting weak players. I've noticed the ones I have been winning against are stumbling into avoidable flame turrets and missing a lot of tail whips.

On paper xeno is insane, hardly any cool down on the tail shot, still being able to M1 while crawling, decreased terror radius. It feels too strong.

Like imagine if nemesis had an unholy baby with demogorgon that took all the best parts of both and none of the weaknesses. You have the extended range attack with basically no set up (nemsis needs to infect and has more of a telegaraph to his tentacle, demo telegraphs shred pretty hard) as far as I can tell there isn't much of an animation in the wind up for a tail whip which makes it hard to dodge sure xeno has a cool down on crawler mode but the only way to deactivate it is with turrets, and a xeno getting hit by a turret is a serious skill issue, there are so many turret nerf addons and since xeno can one hit those turrets they are practically a non issue. you have portals to every gen already set up, you have decreased TR whenever your ranged attack is ready (honestly surprised I haven't seen more xenos using moniter and abuse yet) and to top it off you have pretty good tracking as well.

Tldr: long range attack as built in anti loop/strong chase mechanic, budget stealth, watered down counter mechanic, great traversal and good survivor tracking. Alien strong, once xeno players get the hang of hitting tail whip and sussing out turrets it's going to be miserable to play against.

Id say about a third of the time.

Normally i get down because I did something stupid like placing a turret near the tunnel or just playing too altruistic

I would have also died if I didn't crouch. Just the same way if I take odd pathing against a Nurse, I would have died if the Nurse blinked perfectly on top of me. But she didn't.

surprisingly to many, people say it has too big of a hitbox and the hits it gets sometimes is crazy LOL. its a very iffy and i mean iffy ability. if his normal M1 was replaced by his tail whip in runner mode, then i think that would give the xeno actual skill expression and it should be worth taking the time playing as him to actually perfect the tail instead of being able to get a hit no matter what.

juiced a xeno for 4 gens last night using just shack, a jungle gym, and a cow tree (with i guess a couple filler pallets as well after all the gens popped). really wish i'd gotten a video

I've had several escapes against Xenomoprh and even had one d/c. I don't really record my games.

You guys just need to accept that Xenomorph is completely beatable.

Starting out it was tough to escape, but I've been escaping more and more frequently from Xenomorph lately, where it's about half and half if I get out or not. My strategy tends to be

    • Place turrets in loops I'm going to go to, particularly in spots where if the Alien wants to destroy it, it has to look away from me or move away from me. For example, in Badham school sublevel, I will put a turret next to the steam pipes that allow Survivors to fast vault, and that bought me a good bit of distance.
    • When Alien breaks the turret, find the nearest Turret and run to it. I don't often try to spend a lot of time at loops in between.
    • It feels like it's okay to stay at particularly strong loops. I have a video of a 1:40 second chase around cowtree against a Xeno.

Overall though I think it's not just a matter of placing turrets but WHERE you put those turrets that's going to be the make or break of making chases work with Alien. I think a lot of people just want to be able to loop Alien like they loop Nemesis and I don't think that's appropriate given BHVR very clearly would like you to use the turrets to keep Alien out of its power. If you aren't using turrets, the game punishes you for it by making you struggle with a very very strong chase Killer.

Literally have spent days playing against him and I think I've escaped once.

I almost escaped a second time, but on 1 gen left he picked me up and somehow forced both me and him to disconnect at the same time.

Hard to say. But he shows pretty well that dodging the tail is possible. That the hitbox isn´t as big as people think and that he can be run.
