Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Anyone else noticing hackers coming back?

I have had a few hackers lately, not really hard to find and i doubt my mmr is too high. 2 of my friends have been also experiencing hackers, another chapter of hackers incoming?

Funny enough my friend had a game with a hacker not too long ago and despite a legacy dwight being in the lobby it wasn't him.

I haven't seen any obvious ones personally. Had suspicions on a few but can't say for sure.

While I haven't had them at the prime cheater hours of the past, that doesn't mean they aren't there. This patch is ultra buggy though, so just be aware some 'cheaters' are just victims of bugs. The largest bug that looks like a 'cheater' move is the Survivor trap perk bug. Randomly sometimes when placing a trap, you leave a ghost at the gen you placed the blast mine/wiretap on. It turns with your character, and when you do an action it teleports you from the gen to your actual location. It seems like tapping a gen fixes this, but typically you place a Blast Mine to wait for the Killer to kick it to touch a gen again. I've had a couple people think someone else is a cheater, but it is just this bug that came with this patch.

Whenever you suspect someone of cheating, record first off. Your new win condition is getting enough evidence for the report. Then in the post-game screen, check if they have a 'trap' perk. It might just be the bug, so it makes them less suspicious. (Some cheaters do bring perks to hide their cheats though, so it isn't foolproof.) If you still think you have blatant cheating on your hands, send the report and include the recorded video as an unlisted Youtube video in the support ticket.

    They never went anywhere.

You just don't hear them discussed anymore because content creators got preferential matchmaking where they don't go up against often reported and/or newly created accounts. If anything, there are MORE hackers because now they can't target the big names, but must do with the average userbase. And we don't larp as the DBD avengers, so there is literally no pressure on BHVR to solve the issue. Keep your MMR as low as possible, they are usually hanging out in the higher end.

They're definitely everywhere. It's not even subtle, you can see them staring straight at you through tall gapless walls without aura readers, teleporting, DDOSing the server until the match times out if they don't like something that happened, being 103% speed without being injured to gaslight you into thinking 106% MFT is 103%.

this is true, unfortunately. played killer last night and had a match against a really sketchy zarina. she sprint burst away from me in the opposite direction and still some how managed to get to the other side of the map before me. I don't like to just outwardly call people cheaters but this was pretty blatant. Map was toba and I was playing wraith.

I'm seeing them more and more and I think part of it has to do with people on Twitch and YouTube using these cheats openly. There is several people using cheats that go ahead and provide a link to the access the cheats. It ranges from auto-complete gens or auto down and hook survivors to more subtle things like press a button and increase your speed. I even saw one video where at the start the player opened a menu and increased their base speed, making them able to be constantly faster than a killer. Not sure why the devs haven't shut these exploits down, but as they are getting more and more views each day that increases the odds of people using them, more the subtle ones than the flying around the map ones.

Anybody come across the new hack where they go in lockers and you can't pull them out. Went against that a few times recently.

Until yesterday, I actually hadn't encountered any hackers for quite a long time. At least, none that I was aware of.

Yesterday I was chasing a Claudette and thought she was suspiciously fast. Although given how many perks there are now that affect movement speed, I assumed I was just projecting because the match was going badly. Although my suspicions were pretty much confirmed later in the game when a generator that I had JUST checked (and had NO progress) popped like 10 seconds after I left it.

Checked in post-game, and there were no toolboxes, no Potential Energy, no Fast Track etc. so yeah someone was definitely subtle hacking.
