Question about David King
My first survivor main (currently and staying at P69 😈)
I was wondering why he didn’t get an rugby outfit or something similar to it when the ‘Deadly Games collection’ came? Didn’t he play rugby and isn’t he known for that? I’m happy he finally got a new skin after sooo long (last time he got a new fit was during Bone Chill last year 😭) after BHVR made him an 🏳️🌈 person, people really don’t play David anymore which I can kinda understand but still shouldn’t stop you from playing your favorite survivor. Any other David King mains who are dying to see David get more skins since I’ve seen other male survivors get more and more skins every weeks?

I genuinely don't know. BHVR revealed him to be gay and then threw him in the trash. The only reason he's getting skins now are because the Twitter Haddie Hive turned their attention to him as well lol

Such an shame for my handsome and sexy man to be done so dirty ;( so if those Twitter Haddie Hive people didn’t say anything, David would have not gotten any cosmetic? If one of them is here, I’m really wanna thank you a lot to give us David mains some cosmetics we deserve cuz it’s been SOOO LONG

Im a p100 david. And ive definitely been vocal about that here. As an lgbt person myself, ive nearly just came to the conclusion that bhvr probably....just doesnt care. He's not played as much anymore. He's a male survivor at that. The female survivors give more revenue and get more consistent lore accurate skins.
The guys who dont get lore accurate skins like dwight and shirtless felix is because they feel like it would give more revenue and it does.
So overall, i kinda gave up on even fighting for david to get rugby skins or skins at all due to the fact they continue to give him 2 outfits a year at best including most of the male survivors. But feng, nea, kate, meg mikaela can get skins every update. And it got to the point where i dont even feel seen anymore as a gay man in this game. So i had no choice but to move on to other survivors who get more. Sucks. But i suppose business is just business. Money is a higher priority than representation. And its something we just have to get used to from this game.

So when they don't release skins, its some agenda, and when they do, its also because of some agenda?

BHVR is just a company. The only thing they care is money.
Some survivors will get more costumes since they are more popular but this should not be excuse for not give costumes to others as well.
But they changed tho. Survivors like Zarina, Adam, Haddie, Elodie, Yun got a lot new costumes this year. David just got one and probably he will get another in next mid-chapter.
They won't stop with Feng, Meg, Dwight, Renato etc. costumes because they are making good money for them obviously. But the good point is now they are giving costumes to others pretty often as well

BHVR themselves admitted that David was one of their most popular survivors before his coming out. He was getting skin after skin and was considered one of the Great Cosmetic Hogs. Then, they revealed he was gay, and they just stopped.

Allow me to help them. 17 months since his last new skin store cosmetic, vain valentine. And 9 months since his christmas outfit. Mind u. Wasnt a guarenteed at all if he lost the vote

You complained that it has been a long time since they did a skin, so they do a skin, and you still complain, so what is it that you want?

I mean David's popularity can be changed.
Some people left him because he revealed as gay.
Some people left him for new male survivors: Vittorio, Renato and now Gabriel.
Maybe you are right and some people left him because he did not get costumes.
But whatever was reason, BHVR did not see value on him. I don't think BHVR ignored him because he is gay. BHVR is just doing what other companies are doing: Use resources on valueable characters.
They changed their politics on that tho, that's good sign. Now they are giving costumes to all survivors.

Perhaps his play rate went down? There's a reason that Feng gets a cosmetic every 10 minutes, and Vittorio has almost as many Jeff, despite Vittorio having been out for less than a year, and jeff having been out for almost 5 years.

Consistent and lore accurate skins that other survivors get like feng, mikaela, nea etc. Heck, i mean if the david thread about his coming out is still pinned on this forum symbolizing how much of an impact he made on the lgbt community, you'd expect that bhvr would be consisent and make more skins for a character like that. But guess not.

Yeah i don't think BHVR would refuse money from David mains if he was still so popular.
Renato is getting a lot costumes. He is feeling like Feng for male survivors. Vittorio is also getting so much.
It's just about money. I don't think devs just like some survivors so much and keep adding costumes for them. Nah, it's just about money. They are making costumes for characters who can make more money for BHVR.

An interesting lesson from a company for the audience. If a newly sexually revealed character has no value whatsoever. You can freely discard them. Yea. That will definitely make the lgbt community feel more empowered . Especially with how society view us as it is.

I just don't trust to companies at all.
They will smile to you, they will tell you they care about you. But end of the day, it's just business. You will never be sure they smiled you cuz they care about you or your money.
David will get more costumes if his new costume sell crazy good. And then they will just say, hey we care about our LGBT+ character.

Exactly. But its a shame i start to realize this just this year. No mention of david at all during pride month this year. Not even one tweet. No skin. I shouldve expected. And i hope more people expect this as well if they ever were to release a new sexually revealed character, if at all. And personally i hope they dont anymore if they treat their characters like this.

It's all about money.
If they release new LGBT+ character and people loves them, most likely they will use this opportunity. I know , it's kinda sucks but everything is about money.
And i don't think they will reveal another LGBT+ character , they are fine to keep them in secret.

I simply added on that I don't know why he didn't get a rugby skin, and added on that BHVR threw him in the cosmetic bin after he was revealed to be gay. I didn't say anything regarding BHVR doing it because he was gay, and we all know correlation doesn't equal causation. I stated 4 facts- I don't know why he got the skin, BHVR threw David in the cosmetic bin, this happened after he was revealed to be gay, and that the reason he's getting skins is because of the Twitter movement. This last one has been confirmed by the developers themselves in a dev update, where they stated that a movement on social media was responsible for them expanding their cosmetic horizons, and attached concepts for a new skin of Haddie Kaur, therefore I am taking it as facts and including it in my fact list.
You putting words into my mouth and guessing my intention isn't my problem. You then getting annoyed at me for what you've assumed was what I intended, hidden secretly beneath the letters, is still not my problem. You're literally making up a scenario in your head that didn't actually happen, and then getting mad about it, all while trying to say that you know what I intended with my words better than I do.
I intended nothing. I insinuated nothing. There is no hidden, deeper meaning behind my words. Could I have worded "Threw him in the trash" better? Absolutely. Does that mean I am secretly running a hidden agenda to accuse BHVR of homophobia? No.

He got tome and a lot store costumes this year. He is doing pretty fine. I believe BHVR is happy with his costume sells.
And i am seeing him pretty often in my games.

You do? Wow. Not gonna lie. He's pretty uncommon in my games like vittorio. I swear, i didnt see many even when he had the greek collection. Obviously cause it was linked. Seen only 1 play with it at the time. I seen a bit more obviously from deadly games but more so from thalita(so many thalitas i have seen wearing her new skin). But i still dont see many of him like dwight or even leon level. I even see more ace than him and ace hasnt gotten a skin since....wow several months

Dead Hard also used to be lauded as the best survivor perk. I've never used it but i remember how often new players were told to level up David for DH. After its nerfs I don't see it as often, which may also be why David's popularity dropped.

Good bless the Haddie Hive for constantly reminding BHVR that she exists. Now I have some nice new cosmetics.
I would purchase a David King rugby outfit. For scientific purposes.
Something tells me there's some cross over between the Haddie stans and the David stans. Just a guess though.
