My issue with the "plague" And the "Shape"
Share your opinion, it makes for a nice discussion or fix.
So in recent killers, I find myself questioning whether or not the new killer is fair. Ive seen the spit and love it, but the range is just. Something else in comparison like...for when the wraith got its much needed speed buff, but this. The RANGE. Kills. It kills too well. It's also got the same effect as Legion? But more effective. Not sure if this will be fixed, but eh.
Next order of buisness, Meyers. His name entitles something completely different then what he actually is. He WATCHES people. He doesnt become them. He doesnt change his shape in order to become and fool the survivors. He's just "THE OBSERVER".
Sorry, not sorry. Just a general complaint thread. Feel free to jump in and list off what grinds your gears or feel free to share any opinion.
Tho the idea of a killer taking on the form of a survivor would be hella tight. Agree or disagree? Ill go into detail about that if this blows up.
Enjoy.

Trivia time! The Shape was the name given to Myers in the endcredit scene of the original Halloween (1978) so the official liscence is "The Shape" not Michael Myers.

I did not know and now I do. Thank you. Why was he named that tho?

Just guessing, but its probably meant to be like "That human shape you see from afar staring at you".

It was because in the film you would only catch glimpses of Mike, or far shots, so you never really got to see him; so in the script they refered to him as "The Shape" based on the fact we never get a full close up in broad daylight.

She's just a worse huntress though..

Oh I thought this was going to be about how The Plague can vomit on survivors while they're in the dying state and on hook, while Myers (The Shape) isn't allowed to stalk survivors in dying state or on hook. I feel like that's a little too powerful for The Plague to do

Apologies. I found another post similar to this one and Ill repost here what I ranted on about there.
So, it doesnt seem to be as popular as an opinion. Having not played The plague, but watching from the perspective of both survivor and killer. I can see the up sides and down sides. As a killer, its ez cheese squeeze ville with her bile.
But, heres my issue.
The ludicrous range she has for it and freedom of aiming, which when activating the ability doesnt seem to slow her, by any means. Not only does she have her base form of status effects, but it can get better with each corrupted fountain? And in a means, it eventually hurts survivors. Ranged killers are one thing, but having that freedom to aim and suffering no penalty from missing. (Again, from what I saw) is really, REALLY. SOMETHING. Especially when the 'infected' mechanic produced is that of what Legion has, but more effective. Like what was I watching m8. They took the range of huntress, added an infinite cone spray, status crap of clown boi, legions mechanic. What other creme of the crop have I missed?
I think the idea for an infected killer is a wonderful twist and it ups the difficulty of surviving this killer. Something that the game is frequently starved of. But to what end?
I am positive, absolutely positive that theres more to her endless scale of "This is what the ability does". But where does it start and where does it end? Does her bile effect gens, hooks, downed survivors, hanging survivors, walls, floors, etc. What does it not do EFFECTICELY?
SORRY FOR MY RANT. This killer just screams of Survivor abuse. And "EZ mode".
I am also a killer main.
-End of rant. Correct me on anything that needs to be.

Id say she's a pseudo huntress with more promise and scale. She's a cluster fk of a killer with, well in my opinion, WAY too much going on for her.

Unlike in dbd where he's over your shoulder 100% of the time, but thats cool.
Thanks again for letting me know. I personally dont have anything against him. I like his killer idea.

The vomit range is good in my opinion. If they lowered it she would be bullied way too easily. The thing I've found is that it's actually really easy to dodge once you learn how it works. The projectile actually takes a good moment to travel and so at distance it's very easy to read and dodge. I think this is another case of something that doesn't always feel good to be victim to as a survivor but definitely not something that should be changed.

They lacked a spooky nickname, and the Shape fits perfectly. Because Myers has no real motives, goals or anything like that. To everyone else he is like a bunch of mass shaped like a human being. Like a strawman made out of cells.

The Plague looks fine for me at this point. Sure I am playing vs Killers who do not have the optimal Perks, but from what I have seen, she is not too strong. I would say she is quite well-designed.
Even with the corrupted Purge, she can be looped. Of course, when you are in the open, you will go down to her, but this is the case with many other Killers (e.g. Leatherface...and nobody will argue that Leatherface is too strong).
Also I enjoyed all of my games vs her, regardless if I was able to escape or not (even though I would need to escape to pip now...).
So yeah, I would consider her fair. She is a good Killer.

I thought it meant "The Shape of Evil" or, the shape given form. Something along those lines. No one could figure out what Michael was, even his doctor.
Oh, and for further confusion, read the book.

They called him "the shape" because calling him "the guy with the captain Kirk white mask" was too long. 😆

The idea of a Killer taking the form of a Survivor is indeed a good one but simply just wouldn't be good in DbD. The power would only be good for getting close to people because all it takes is common sense to avoid Survivors to screw that kind of power over. Don't even need to mention SWF.

as a survivor main i am tired of every powerful killer getting nerfed just because entitled survivors feel that they should be able to escape every round and if they get killed then the killer must be OP, they gripe instead of just learning new tactics and and ADAPTING, they don't wanna adapt they just want it be easy. I play survivor all the time and i am tired of escaping 9/10 matches, this new killer has me excited because i miss the days when there was more uncertainty about escaping a match or not, this killer brings a way to slow down a match in a fun and challenging way and i am all for the challenge, and the moment she goes on sale on ps4 i will be going in as survivor like crazy to learn how to adapt against the killer, but if they nerf her then its pointless she will become another low/mid tier killer. I know not all survivors are entitled people that feel they should win all the time and i know there are others like me that welcome a good challenge, and as powerful as she is i see people beating her left and right on the ptb and i think she is quite balanced the only things i would change is that loud notification when a survivor cleanses themselves and maybe not let her infect hooked or downed survivors, other than that i say leave her powers alone and bring on the challenge, even if i only survive 1/10 matches for a while i can't wait cuz actually having a good challenge is what this game is about! :) bring it on.

I see what youre saying and enjoy the thought that some survivor mains enjoy the challenge. I just like the difficulty killers entail when trying to find talented survivors and using tactic and prediction instead of just...ya know, throwing bile on everything. It just seems a bit excessive to me. Then again, I do tend to forget there are a vast majority of survivor mains (such as yourself) who are up for that challenge.

Oh Dr. Loomis knew exactly what Michael was;
"I met him 15 years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no conscience, no understanding of even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. I met this 6 year old child with this blank pale emotionless face....and the blackest eyes. The Devil's eyes. I spent 8 years trying to reach him, and then another 7 trying to keep him locked up because I realized that what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply evil!".

I get that. Of course there'd be some other tactic to it. But then again, maybe im just being influenced by "Us". The trailer for Peeles new movie thats coming out, lol. Being more on edge with survivors around as a survivor has a certain "zest" to me.

"The Shape" refers to how he watches people from the shadows, so they only see his silhouette or "shape" Have you not watched his movies? If i named him, I'de have called him the "Creeper" cause he always be creepin'.
The plague's decently strong. I really wish she had more addons that added more flavor to her sickness. Like blindness, or exhaustion. But she seems pretty strong, with some counter play.
What counter play? Her vomit is slow, which means you can loop her while she expels it. It also arcs, so you can run under it.
Here, Piccalo will teach you how to counter play the Plague.

You new?...... you do know that Myers is known as "the shape" in the movies right?...... git gud before complaining about stuff that you dont know about especially the horror icons

I wasn't aware of the overall arc of the projectile and I'll take a look into the counter play. Thanks and unfortunately not, I wasn't too into the whole "Killer genre" of movies. Just more so the "Sci-fi" killers, such as the ever famous "creeper jeepers", "the thing", "Faculty", etc. More monster horror than (Idk what you'd call killer movies such as "Jason", "Halloween" or "Nightmare on elm") whatever sort of sub-genre he was in. But, I am enjoying finding out more and more about him, lol.

I think the plagues range is fine. Its just another killer that can punish close proxy looping if there's not proper cover. She still has far less range than the other throwing killers and requires tighter continuous accuracy if you want to speed up the infection without multiple reloads.

What sort of criticism is this? Obviously not, "git gud" before complaining about whats in the open test server is the WHOLE point of complaining about it. I know Meyers is a horror Icon, but he obviously isnt the only one. "The Shape" is obviously a broad term, especially for those who don't watch the "Halloween" series. Easily missed. Everyone generally knows him for his blue jumpsuit, knife and Captain kirk mask. Get out of here with your Garbage comment, or revise it and put something worth knowing.
Such as the sarcastic dodge thing, wasnt aware, but it was helpful to its got an arc. Helped me learn and ease my opinion on believing the "Plague" was a powerhouse from first look.

@3amcheese He was named shape because most shapes are empty, Michael myers is an empty soul

So as a Survivor Main, how do you feel about getting infected? Does the danger of being Broken scare you into taking action, or is it something that's a minor inconvenience? Me personally, if I am left to become Broken I am just going to do the Gen, I always run Dead Hard so I'll be fine unless some idiot gives her Corrupt Purge.
