Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Can someone explain the new prestige system to me? How is the grind less now?

This is my first time playing on the new prestige system. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I recall on how it used to work, you unlocked all 3 levels of the 3 character perks for other characters once at level 1 prestige, no? Now you have to get to level 3 prestige for all 3 perk levels to be unlocked for other characters? How is this less grind? This seems like lots more work, unless the XP system also got revamped or something else I'm missing.

This new system gives all characters the perks straight away, the old system had teachable perks where you would have to find them in the bloodweb.

It also made the grind linear instead of exponential. For example with the new system you only need to get alien to p3 to get all of its perks on every other killer at level 3, and assuming you have every other killer at p3 then after getting alien to p3 you once again have all perks on every killer again. Old system you would have to unlock the teachable alien perks, unlock every perk on alien, then unlock all of alien's perks on every other killer.

Ahh okay that makes sense, at least I think I understand now haha. Guess I'll just have to play and see for it to fully click. Thanks.

You will notice the difference, once you got a couple of characters up to P3. Reaching P3 istn't that big of an undertaking and after doing this you unlock the perks for all other characters, instead of having to spend BP in their individual blood webs.

Also, back in the day you would lose each and every single item upon prestiging, so it was tied to a real sacrifice and showed some real dedication to your favorite characer, just to get their bloody basic cosmetics.

I have every single character up to P3, so now, when I get a new chapter, or get a character specific tome challenge, I don't have to make do with whatever random perks the blood web would throw at me, I can just equip my favorite build, even highly specific ones, right out of the gate. This new characers also only have to be prestiged 3 times, in order to give every one their perks, instead of going through everyones blood web and spend some 300k there.
