How long does it take to get 9,000 shards?
Anyone have a number of the amount of matches you would have to grind to get that many. I'm kinda low on money right now and I don't really want to spend some on the new chapter (even though I love the Plague) so i figured I would grind for it. I'm just interested in the killer, the survivor is THICC sure but her perks don't interest me

I cant give you a number but it takes quite some time.
As a normal (dedicated, but still a reallife) gamer you have no chance to collect 18k shards every 3 month, so you wont be able to purchase all the chapters with shards.

It takes a while I mean maybe a few days if you grind hard.

I played everyday for a week for about 3-5 hours a day and got 9k shards. That’s why I said a few days if you grind real hard.

According to wiki, it takes 217 games. Which sounds about right because I would normally obtain 9k shards in about 1-2weeks. In order to get it in 1week you would need to be playing about 30 games per day.

It depends on which lvl you are.
Im at lvl 72 and it takes 10-15 min to finish a match, each match grants you 1/4 parts of a lvl if you play good.
So it's something around 40-50 mins to lvl up if you are above lvl 50. Each time you lvl up you get 300 shards (if you are above lvl 50)
9000/300=30 times to lvl up
30lvls•45min each lvl=1350mins
1350min/60min= 22'5 hours
It'll take you around 20 something hours to get 9000 shards assuming you are lvl 50, you get at least 1/4 parts of a lvl with each game that lasts about 10-15mins and you start from scratch.

In other words, if you play like 4h day every day you'd get It around a week or something like that.

like 50 levels= 10.410 shards; 50 to 100 levels=15.000 = 25.410 shards .

Buying the Killer alone with Auric Cells is about the same price as buying the full DLC from the steam store. You should just spend your money on the whole DLC. You get the Survivor too so it’s a better deal.

I have 14,000 and I have only been grinding for about 2 or 3 weeks. It shouldn't take you long 🙂

Thanks, I don't have too many shards right now so maybe I'll just buy an auric cell pack and only buy the killer

Well for me when the first teaser image for the Spirit came out I started only playing DBD then about a week or two after the PTB ended and she was on all platforms I bought her (with shards)

The grind for Iridescent Shards is real. You'll need to play an insane amount of games in order to amass enough shards to make a killer purchase.
The developers are scared that we players get to buy what we want from their store through our own effort that they've ramped up the costs to great heights. Just look at the Iridescent Shard cost of some cosmetic sets.. 18k+.. what.

It depends on whether you play survivor or killer.
It is easier to earn BPs as killer, and it is easier to earn shards as survivor.
Roughly 50 matches will give you 2k shards as survivor, and in order to get 9k shards, you need to play 210-230 matches, give or take.
If you play 10 survivor matches per day, you can easily get a chapter in less than 2 months (44-46 days)
10 survivor matches are not difficult imo, it is something like 1 and half an hour. Of course you can't play every day but sometimes you can play 3-4 hours as well so it depends on your ability to how much you can play this game.

Does anyone know when The Plague might release? I'm thinking about purchasing her as well.
