Any advice on how to go against the new merchant?
I'm just struggling going against her, especially on pallets where she can just drop down a bot just to slow me down

No cuz I still hate playing against her. All they did was make her super oppressive but remove her ability to hold you hostage for an hour. Now she can just take everyone out of the game at 4-5 gens.

Yeah thats the antilooping she get speed and u get penalty.Try drop pallet and go next loop.
Also desactivating their drones helps.

Honestly, just pray, I still have some problems with her but I don't think I'm wrong, she basically doens't have counterplay on loop, she just put on the drone and you are forced to leave, boring gameplay, I'm trying to drop the apllet as soon as possible, loop the pallet until she puts the drone and I switch loops until I have nothing and die

You can ignore the drones if you're doing a gen, otherwise disable them.

Seems to me the only counterplay is to just avoid drones in chase. Nothing else seems to work.

If you’re at a loop and she puts down a drone, you need to leave, take a hit or get a health state removed by her drone. It’s really brain numbing to play against.
Slam gens. Hack her drones. Hold W.

Run away from the loop if you can. It won’t always work since she has no slowdown for putting down a drone and also gets free passive haste and so a lot of the time that strategy just results in a hit. It’s like if Artist could put a crow down without slowing down at all or if Knight could deploy a guard without stopping for a moment. And yes the old Merchant could do this too but drones weren’t as strong in chase especially if you were already injured so it wasn’t a big deal, and they also took longer to activate. Now she’s just extremely oppressive in chase in exchange for her losing the ability to hold games hostage.
I don’t know why she still gets the passive boost to movement speed either. I was fine with it before because it was one of the only things that encouraged her to play in a not-3-gen oriented way and original Merchant wasn’t that good in chase, but now I feel like it’s just about as unhealthy as MFT is.
TL;DR: She’s still awful to play against just for different reasons than before and it feels like survivors don’t have many options against her, if any.
