So With Stranger Things Being Back... A Question Still Lingers...

This is a post mostly regarding perks.

Jolt/Surge is a really good starter perk, same with Fearmonger/Mindbreaker, so are these perks going to still be made Universal Perks or be turned back into Licensed Perks?

I think the best thing BHVR could do is eventually go back and give the Stranger Things DLC their own perks and turn the current perks into Universal Perks; since removing them and making them Licensed Perks would cause a lot of damage to new players, and creating new perks would make people more excited about buying the Chapter since there is just extra content there.

They made a response saying that they will go back to the killer but if you have the perks unlocked on a person they will stay

If you look at the characters on the store, it says their perks have been made available to all characters, so it looks like they're staying universal.

I'm a little confused though because Steve and Nancy's perks were given their old names and icons back, but not Demogorgon's.

The FAQ says they'll be reverting back in a future update. So you have a bit of time to unlock them on whatever killers you want before that happens. Once they revert you'll need to buy and upgrade Demo to unlock them, but those killers who already have them will keep them.

Damn, new players will be missing some solid perks to start with. What a bunch of rubbish. I guess I better make sure I have all perks on all characters before then.

I may buy the Stranger Things pack down the line to get the characters since they're the last I'll need to complete my roster, but I may wait for a discount, like around Christmas.

I have some concerns about this for new PC Killers in the future, because it will leave them without a single free gen regression perk. New console players I'm not so worried about, since they'll still have Overcharge, Pop and Ruin to unlock.

As a relatively new player myself, I remember how quickly I found myself facing competent and skilled survivors in my first Killer games (more or less within 20-30 hours of game play) and we all know how important it is to have at least some kind of regression or slowdown. Even just one regression perk can be the difference between winning and losing.

Jolt/Surge is such a strong perk on Trapper and Wraith as well, the two best free Killers to get started with.

I suppose it wouldn't take long to grind enough shards to buy a perk in the Shrine and I guess there's still Thana and Sloppy for some slowdown, but giving inexperienced Killers nothing to regress the gens with might lead some to players quitting the Killer side in frustration.
