who would like to see crossprogression in the game ?

i honestly wish they would add it between xbox and pc since i heard that playstation doesn't wanna do crossprogression. context my friend who played for years on xbox wants to play on pc since his xbox broke and is finding it hard since he had every character up to knight and his survivor and doesn't wanna repay for all the dlc's he owns on xbox.

Last word was that they continue to work at it for Xbox and the PlayStations, but that's years old by now. They need to come to an arrangement that they, Sony, and Microsoft all can live with. Imo it's never coming.

Switch was supposed to happen like two Septembers ago but apparently ran into technical issues and is delayed.

Switch needs this! The performance is so awful with each new major update and some maps the frame rate omg and I am not starting fresh.

Cross progression is kind of a can of worms with how content is handled. Currently, if you buy a chapter through the steam store for example, you can share it with other accounts on the same PC. That means you can switch to a different account and still have that content unlocked. Now what happens if those accounts can be logged onto on different machines? Can I unlock all content for my console friends by adding a steam account for them on my PC? It gets messy if those steam accounts with shared content can be linked to different console accounts for different people.

I think almost everyone who's ever played the game on a platform that's not PC wants cross-progression.

I play on Switch. DbD needs the cross-progression that was promised for Switch/PC.

I'd love it as I play on both PC & Switch. Grinding my way through two tomes a month, or having to earn 4000 iri to unlock a perk I want from the shrine for both my accounts can be hard work.

Having bought the same Killer / Survivor twice on both platforms, there are obviously strong financial incentives for all parties involved never to add it, so I don't see it ever happening to be honest.

It needs it more than the desert needs the rain. With the game getting bigger and bigger and Nintendo not releasing a next gen console that we can upgrade to, I really wouldn't be surprised if BHVR stops supporting Switch. Then we are really screwed.

As someone who's stuck playing on switch, yes. Please, I'd buy the game on ps4 but I have so much stuff on the switch, I really don't want to start over again.

Would everyone LIKE to see it? Yes. Will it ever happen? No, never. The game's a legal department's nightmare, which is why we don't have it.

DBD is a live service game. So long as Nintendo supports the Switch the devs support it as well, unless the game becomes actually unable to run on a Switch.

That's the thing. Switch lost two live service games this year because the hardware is so far behind.

I'm actually kinda curious now, what live service games did the switch lose?

I don’t think anyone has a reasonable argument against cross progression and everyone wants it.

except for the platform owners obviously. It’s no secret that DbD is very poorly optimized on consoles and the PC version is immensely superior - so having the ability to switch to PC will result in a loss of players on consoles therefore there will be less people buying new content on the console shops as well as possibly less players that buy the platforms online subscription to be able to play DbD.

now frankly, this is just my point of view and I don’t have any actual facts or statistics - but I think this does sound like reasonable arguments why Sony and Microsoft are reluctant..

Yeah I'm still waiting. I'm not buying the Stranger Things cosmetics all over again. I'll wait for cross progression.
