Movie DBD, Which OC should be the main Protagonist/Antagonist(s)?
Rules: -
- Characters must be original to DBD, all OC DLCs are valid (even SM!).
- Entity itself is disqualified as a choice.
- Feel free to explore up to 3 killers and 6 Survivors to be featured prominently, but only 1 can be your last girl/guy, and only 1 killer can be your final encounter.
- Bonus points for deciding who dies in what order, and how.
- Bonus points for Easter Egg ideas for other members of the cast.
Perfectly viable answer to say the OG survivors and killers (Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, vs. Dwight, Meg, Claudette, Jake, Nea), but personally its hard to argue with Blight as a cinematic main boss. 😏
Personally I'd like to say Dwight, but I can't help but see a story arc where he is cowardly throughout the film, before getting one final self sacrifice moment to save the others... Meg being overconfident, then tested and ultimately humbled about her athletic abilities, Nea being the one who has to crawl through a narrow crawlspace to save everyone. Jake I see very much as the level headed self sufficient survivalist, and Claudette as the compassionate voice of reason... could go either way, but I see Claudette as the tragic death, and Jake being sole survivor. 🤔
Could go in multiple directions, but of the DLC cast... I could see Feng Min as a potential last girl... and she's a fan favourite... would have to find a legit means of using the Bunny hoodie though... maybe in a Clown/Legion segment xD

Protagonists:
The OG4 as mains characters for sure, maybe Haddie, Elodie & Felix as side characters for their lore implications. Observer probably should make an appearance at some point.
Antagonists:
Trapper as the killer we see in the first trial that introduces everything. Blight is the big bad guy as he is the entity's servant. Entity is omnipresent but not a character per say.
What happens:
- First kill: Dwight of course. First trial's victim
- Second Kill: Haddie before she can help too much
- Third kill: Observer, maybe he's already gone when protagonists find him
- Jake, Claudette, Elodie and Felix die at some point (Felix is killed by Blight).
- Final girl: Meg. Elodie is also last girl material but unfortunately she's not a main character..

Protagonist : Ace
Antagonist : dept collector.
Supportive role : the Entity.

Cast:
Wraith, Huntress, Blight
Dwight, Jake, David, Feng Min, Felix, Meg
Starts with Wraith hitting Dwight and Cloaking
Then it would shift to Blight staring at Jake, David and Meg working on a Gen
Felix would be on another Gen somewhere else... working alone
Huntress would be seen honing her Axe (humming her Lullaby)

I like this, but I would have each kill performed by a different killer in a different 'trial', with maybe the last two killers scoring 2 each. Or something along those lines.
So like, first trial, Trapper kills Dwight. Then Wraith kills Haddie. (Blight kills Observer, offscreen or not) Huntress kills Jake. Nurse kills Claudette, and Elodie. Then Blight kills Felix.
I'd also say you could swap Meg and Claudette, or even Jake and Felix, either way works fine though.

If the goal is to make a good movie, and not be too concerned with adapting the wider lore of Dead By Daylight in general, I'd say adapting All-Kill would be the best bet.
Psychological thriller about Trickster's descent into serial-killing fervour, contrasted with Yun-Jin's slowly building suspicions and guilt over not wanting to rock the boat before she has any concrete proof, that kind of thing. I think it'd make for a good movie, though the ending would probably have to be changed if we don't want a bit of a cliffhanger. Imagine how that'd play to an audience who doesn't know what the Fog is, lol.
For adapting the wider mythos of DBD, I think the OG crew are kind of must-haves. That, or make a movie about the mysterious Lost Tapes characters referenced in the perk quotes...
Truthfully, I think the wider lore of DBD would work better as an anthology TV show rather than a movie. Gives more room for each facet to breathe.

Yeah that'd be neat, I'd keep Felix killed by Blight because he found his lab in the lore (and Jake & huntress having a show down in the forest would be cool) but Meg & Claudette are definitely swappable

Watch as people mistake it for being another Scream tv series, the same way people still mistakes Scary Movie with Scream.

Trapper should be featured in some capacity. Though maybe not as the main antagonist. Possibly as first kill killer?
I feel like Kate is still the most stereotypical final girl from the OG cast, but I wouldn’t mind if she is just a supportive character lifting up the mood and sparking hope for the others at the camp fire at some point after a big loss?
I hope Claudette would be the final girl, she is the sweetest. Though her being the shy but empathetic, compassionate and intelligent character, she is kinda destined to be an early death that leaves the group devastated and hopeless…?
