Thoughts on Hex: Pentimento?
I personally don’t think perk is OP or anything in that sense. The perk does what it is supposed to do, slow the game down. If the killer is able to reach 5 tokens, good on them but I do think it is an awful perk to play against, mainly in solo queue.
The perk is a bit similar to old Hex: Undying, where survivors are encouraged to look for multiple totems to get rid of the same effect. This can be out of a solo survivors control. If one or two survivors were to keep cleansing totems, for example a Hex: Plaything totem commonly used with Hex: Pentimento, there is nothing I can do to prevent them from continuously cleansing totems and creating more Pentimento Stacks for the killer.
If I were to suggest a change to Hex: Pentimento, I think cleansing totems that have been rekindled by the killer should be cleansed at 50% of their normal speed. Cleansing a regular and Hex totem by default is 14 seconds, which would would make Rekindled totems 7 seconds to cleanse or more with Thanatophobia or Hex: Trill of the Hunt.
The perk and it’s effects are fine but continuously looking for totems, to get rid of the same effect can be tedious. I would to hear your guys opinions on Hex: Pentimento and your thoughts on my suggested change for the perk.

It's fine and doesn't need changing. It does what it's supposed to. Nothing more, nothing less.

I agree it's often a pain to go against in solo queue, but I'm not sure it's a perk issue and not a teammate issue.
If you get good teammates they'll cleanse the pentimento totem that's in the spot of the totem they previously cleansed instead of letting their teammates run around to look for it.
It can be an issue if the survivor is dead, but I don't really know how it could be made different without nerfing the perk too much. 7 seconds sounds too quick tbh.

It’s completely fine the way it is imo. I get it’s annoying if 1 or 2 survivors keep doing dull totems but if that’s the case, they need to be responsible and cleanse the rekindled totems because they know where they are. If they don’t, that’s on them. It’s a team game.

I mostly like it and think it's a cool concept, but on the flipside I worry it can also have the opposite effect - discourage survivors from doing side objectives, make them focus on only gens.
Honestly I think it's in a good place as it is now, I would just recommend to be sparing with when you use it because if survivors see it every game they might ignore side objectives even more than they do now.

it's painful to go against in soloq matches, not hearing any hex get cleansed yet seeing it pop up or having people cleanse their playthings and never going back to the totem to cleanse pentimento... balance-wise it's in a good spot though imo.

I think it's fine in terms of balance. To me it least balanced perks and add-ons are the ones that give disproportionate value solely on their own (Dead Hard, Eruption to offer a couple examples). Pentimento doesn't have that. Pentimento is a perk you really have to build into to get any value from. There's a reason Plaything is its preferred pairing. I imagine Two Can Play can get some good use with it, too. I tend to pair it with Plaything and Retribution.

The thing is Hex Pimento is no secret. The totems placements are know to the appropriate survivor that previously cleansed it . If said survivor doesn't recleanse it thats on them.
