Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Wdyd against pre runners as Wesker?

I encounter this issue a lot when I play Wesker because of his huge terror radius and it's really frustrating. People rate Wesker as a top tier killer but I honestly do better with lower tier killers like Legion, Wraith and Pig because they are much easier to play and no one pre runs them as hard as Wesker. When I watch my fav streamer play Wesker they never seem to have this issue though and idk why or how.

There really isn’t much that Wesker can do against survivors that pre-leave generators when the visual terror radius lights up. The survivors will be so far away from a generator when you get there, that it’s not worth trying to find them, and the game might just end up being 30+ minutes because of it.

This is the main reason why I don’t like playing this character. I’d rather play Blight, because he can zoom across the map fast enough that he can sometimes actually chase pre-leaving survivors without throwing the game.

Your TR is huge as Wesker, so you can try and give the survivors the feeling that they have no way of getting out of there (easily achievable by committing to one half of the map or using Distressing). This means they will take it similar to a Huntress' lullaby that pretty much only tells them you're on the map. If you see them in the distance, then don't be affraid to use your power to catch up to them. It might cost you a bit of time before you can get the hit, but you more than make up for it by skipping any distance they have on you. Undectable perks can also work quite well.

…Unless they know that the terror radius is split into 1/3 increments, and that if Wesker uses Distressing, that they can ignore the outer-most 1/3 of the terror radius.

give plaything and trail a try. you can zone, but there is not much you can do if the spot they are in or the map allows pre-running like rpd and midwich.

Idk tbh. Don’t really have this issue. The survivors in my lobby don’t really prerun like that.

You can try using monitor and abuse

it increases your FOV and decreases your terror radius by 8 meter giving you the default killer terror radius

    or

if you run info perks (UW, lethal, BBQ,NWTH) just use your dashes for distance and pair it with the leather gloves addon for faster recharges

That doesn't matter, if they're in your TR constantly. They can either decide to leave the gen anytime you come somewhat close or they learn to ignore it for the most part. Eventually, they have to make progress or you win anyway. Pre running only works, if they can reliably tell when you come closer. Distressing makes this next to impossible for uncoordinated survivors.

Yeah that's what I tried and had some success also cut down on using my power in chase unless i'm certain i can get a hit with it so i can blood lust them.

It does matter, because a Distressing Wesker isn’t a literal 50 meters of “terror radius is either completely off or completely on”.

Instead, if the survivor ignores the outer-most 1/3 of the terror radius, then their next layer of terror radius warning starts around 33 meters away… and since most of these people pre-leave generators when a 32 meter terror radius appears, this isn’t much of a difference.

Dash after them? unless it's an indoor map you'll catch up very fast

Wesker's M2 is really strong, but also difficult to use beyond the basic level. Getting more practice with his power should get you quick chases even when they pre run. You can also try and reach them from directions they do not expect. But that is not always an option

Something that helps me a lot with this killer is the Undetectable status. Its legit pretty strong on Wesker and it does help against pre runners. You might want to experiment with perks like Tinkerer and/or Trail of Torment.

Tracking and undetectable perks, one of my favorites on Wesker is Trail of Torment, maybe give that one a try since it does both provide info and undetectable.

Run Distressing and force them to ignore the terror radius or waste time running away from gens.
