Is Boil Over new meta?
Ugh... everyone even their grandmas use this perk. Is this a new way to troll killers using controllers?

Make a new account and you're be running into this park every game. Low elo players love it for some reason.

According to this forum, everyone is running Windows of Opp, Distortion, Calm Spirit, Adrenaline, BU+FTP, not to mention the apparent gen rush perks. Not sure if there's room for Boil Over.

I wouldn't say it's exactly a new waybut Boil Over does have a long recorded history of screwing with the controller movement more so than m+kb. Every blue moon I'll have a SWF that runs it and tries to get cute on Temple or Foundry. I couldn't tell you what exactly it is that makes it such a menace to controllers.

It's not a meta perk but it's pretty annoying. Especially on indoor maps it's a real pain because I can never get through any doorways.
I wouldn't say it's super strong though. Just very unpleasent to play against.

Yeah, there truly seems to be an increase of Boil Over users around. I'm seeing it every other game.

The problem with Boil Over against controllers is the dead zones in the sticks combined with input lag. It is inconsistent in its effect, but basically it's much much harder to counter the sway.
Those using a mouse deal with the sway by going with it, and can actually gain a slight movement increase if timed right. But with a controller you often cannot react fast enough to try and go with that sway, instead pulling in the opposite direction and be slowed & pinball off things. It is even more pronounced in doorframes and the inside maps too.

Yeah that and/or Agitation do help.

Makes sense about the dead zones. I just turn my camera and go with the wiggle. Gets me to a hook without getting caught up most of the time. Worst one is when you're in front of the hook and they wiggle off like damn it ya little #########. 😓

The camera with the controller suffers from the same issues though. It always feels sluggish and unnatural and unresponsive, even at max sensitivity.

How much do you rotate your camera on sticks when getting hit with BO? I use both my sticks and rotate just enough to look into the lean

Boil Over being used a lot, especially among more casual/inexperienced players, is not new. People either use it in combination with other perks designed to be really annoying, or because they mistakenly think it's effective on its own.
It is a good way to get yourself slugged more often. It always amazes me how some people act as if they've been wronged because you drop them as soon as you realize that you can't get them to a hook. When run as part of a build/strat designed to make it nearly impossible to hook a surv, it's miserable. In those cases, since they openly don't care if I have fun, I make sure they don't either, and it's just misery for everyone.
But on its own, Boil Over is slightly annoying at most, but generally a non-issue.
But has been mentioned, it is extra annoying to console/controller killers.

Believe me I've tried that. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't, very inconsistent in that regard. Even tried it with varying sensitivities.
It's one of the reasons playing Singularity feels poopy too, just unresponsive af with a controller to me.

If you're getting frustrated by boil over while using controller I can give a little tip that anyone with boil over you can mostly nullify it by crab walking to the hook.
All boil over does is exaggerate the wiggles so technically speaking if you crab walk to the hook while alternating the position your facing with whether the next wiggle is to the right or left then you can use the increased wiggle to almost get you to the hook faster lol. That being said it's still obnoxious on indoor maps even with this in mind.

Imagine a world where DBD and controllers co-existed peacefully without the bullshit

We just need more setting options, the ones commonly found in most games these days. Or M&K support for those who would like that.
Preferably both.
