I can't wait for the 3-Gen Solution!
This match lasted 40 minutes. Sorry but just hook me and get it over with, I got things to do in real life and I don't want a DC penalty. I just wanted a casual DBD match in my free time, not some MOBA length E-Sports match.
Mind you, there are still 2 gens left and we're trying so hard not to 3-gen with these randoms (I was lucky to even have mates this competent but we all died anyways) but there's nothing you can do if the Killer is forcing a 3-gen and you're not in a coordinated SWF. Killer doesn't commit to chases and if they down you they refuse to hook you just to run back to their 3-gen. I don't think maps should spawn with pre-destined 3-gen setups like this so Killers can't just capitalize on this "strategy" of going back and forth playing gen defence simulator for minutes until people physically give up. Either eliminate this situation or give a Forfeit option because I don't want to be stuck in a match for this long. I don't care about your win streak, just hook me and send me back to lobby.
I'm already expecting a lot of "This is your fault!" comments from people who can't stop showing their bias on this Forum with absurd takes who clearly haven't played Survivor once for the last 12 months so keep them coming.

I had a similar situation with Skull Merchant on Badham yesterday. I just approached the hook for her to do her job but she only downed me and did the slugging.

I don't think it's all your fault, but I do think it's some of your fault. That's a nasty 3-gen that, while you didn't put it there, you did commit your time and resources on all the safer gens first. Preemptively shooting down reasonable criticism as bias worth ignoring doesn't help you. It doesn't change the fact that you all had an opportunity to go for it early but didn't. I'd wager there was a nice view of it from where the free generator that people like to do first spawns, so it's not like you could have missed it.

While I can agree with some parts of your comment, this doesn't mean the game has to last 30+ mins. The Killer had every opportunity to end the game by then and you can see 2 people are already dead hook. Refusing to chase or hook survivors because your only priority is that 3-gen is absurd and indefensible.

Maps spawning in a very convenient 3-gen will always hit solos wayyyyyyy harder than those on comms. Now you have to rely on decent game sense, which is dubious and unpredictable in solo queue.
It is very much a map problem combined with game sense.

If you have pictures or video of the match, report the killer.
Having a match where the killer isn't downing, chasing, or hooking for an excessive amount of time is against game rules for holding the game hostage, and can be bannable.

I hope the 3 gen solution also punishes survivors that refuse to commit to repairing generators, and are excessively pre-leaving generators or excessively hiding. Because that's often a major part of the 3 gen problem.

I didn't think of reporting them because I was just glad it was over and left immediately. I usually only report for harassment or exploits but I guess you're right.
I'm up for any solution that helps matches not last more than 15 minutes...😭

as singularity main, i cannot wait till 3 gen hostage gets fixed so people stop treating this killer as a new skull merchant.

Yeah. A 40 minute match? Forcing a 3 gen situation is viable killer player strategy. Holding the game hostage like that is poor playership. There's not really a good solution. I don't want to see match timers. I don't want to remove the 3 gen strategy. The random players you were with may have been new if they didn't know about the three gen strategy. Just like Windows of Opportunity, new players should use Deja Vu to help learn about 3 gen. It appears to have been the killer player's intention to hold the game hostage just for cruel giggles. Just like basement Bubba or AFK Pig were cruel strategies. Maybe when there's 1 gen left a 5 minute timer starts and the match ends in a draw if the killer player won't "participate in normal gameplay". Or hatch opens. But that might be as bad as the last survivor standing thing. Or maybe with 1 gen left there's no DC penalty.

It's even worse when they are running Jolt/Surge as well which gives them even more insentive to do that sort of thing. I really miss when that perk actually had a cooldown so a killer didn't just keep causing the same gen to explode over and over again because there is nothing stopping them from doing so.

Be careful what you wish for.
You don't know what their "solution" is yet.

How did you even survive that long on this reworked map? My games as survivor end there in 5min, when the killer is mid.

I'm just worried about the ramifications of it for the weaker killers that end up forced into a 3-gen scenario.
