What was your favorite (and/or least favorite) proposed game mode from the survey?

My favorite was TAG. I think the best way to do it would be to have 4 killers versus 4 survivors, and the roles switch at a halftime 150 seconds into the match, with the match being five minutes total. One hit equals one point for a killer, and one point for breaking a pallet. Survivors gain a point for every ten seconds they don't get hit, and one point for getting a pallet stun without getting hit. Whichever player has the most points wins! Small map with no lockers but maximum pallets that reset at the halftime. No grabs or perks allowed, no losing health states either. Blade wipe and speed boosts still apply.

My least favorite was Deceive simply because I think it would be too easy for survivors to ruin the game with a party chat, or communication of any kind.

Haha, it was exactly the other way around for me.

One of my favorite features in dbd is that I don't need to play the role I don't want to, and that doesn't seem to be an option in Tag and Zombie Tag.

On the other hand, The Thing is the only iconic horror license I'm really missing from dbd at this point. I'd even power through comms in the classic mode (you just need to hit faster than how they talk), but it would be excellent for Deceive.

Survivors in first person/killers in third person. It might make playing as a survivor scary for the first time since 2016

I don't know how 2v8 would work, I don't really care too much how. I just think it has a lot of potential.

The absolute favourite was Disgustingly Scary. Hope to see DbD becoming a truly terrifying horror game. I assume it is a mode enhancing what the reagents offerings couldn' do.

    My 3 favourites were:

    • Randomizer
    • 2v8
    • The one that swaps killers on downs

Maybe killers in 3rd person so i can fully enjoy my killer cosmetics 🤣

I liked "Disgustingly Scary". Depends on what they are talking about, darker and more fog is appreciated, if they mean "Nightfall-Dark", not really.

I disliked all the others, but I think the worst one was VIP.

    I want 5 v 5 mod so much.

Finally people would stop complaining about balance issues in this mod. You have killer on your team, so you can't complain about killers. And you can't complain about survivor perks because you have 4 of them in your team.

    Perfect.

Okay, I have to ask : what do you find interesting in "giant" mode?

5 v 5 - it would be a totally different game, but it would be balanced, which would be cool.

Tag / Zombie Tag I'd need to know a bit more.

VIP sounds like it could be a cool idea for 4 person SWFs, but would otherwise not really work with soloq.

Don't care too much for the modes that change the display (Disgustingly Scary, Giant, Swapped Perspective), but I understand some people might give them a go.

Randomizer would be the easiest of the modes for them to implement as they already have that function, so I'd like it just as an starter.

2 v 8 - could be cool, could be a mess. Picturing 8 person SWFs is kind of crazy

What isn't interesting about giant mode?

Who knows how tall the killer is? What if he's really big and have to stomp on or grab the Survivors to harm them? What if Survivors need to run between covers to avoid being squashed? What if the killer can stick it's hands into Survivor's covers and reach for them? What if the killer can destroy hiding structures on the map that Survivors can use to hide in? Etc.

Basically it has the potential to be more than just killer having their heights increased to Nemesis size and Survivors to Victor's size with regular dbd gameplay.

Game modes that can offer an entirely new way of playing the game are what i believe will benefit the game the most and i believe giant mode is one of those modes which have that potential to do just that along with the other top 5 modes it shares it's placement with on my list.

5v5 seems much easier to balance than 2v8, though to be honest I don't think the game could handle either knowing that a third Nemmy zombie stresses the servers too much.

Many of those game modes would take multiple years of work on the game's engine to even be possible, and I can't see BHVR doing that.

It's much more likely the easier modes like 'Random Perks' and 'Nightfall with Fog Offering' would be added, regardless of which one wins.

Honestly a randomizer mode where your perks on the survivors and perks/addons on killer were completely random sounds great and would be pretty easy to do.

I realize I'm probably the outlier here, but I like their spin on hide and seek. Not only does that mode perfectly reflect a horror movie, but the fact that if you're found you immediately get killed/Mori would be a great incentive to avoid the killer at all cost. Perhaps in this mode survivors could use perks like the pebble, and killers use perks like spies from the shadows.
