STBFL Changes First Impressions from a Trapper Main
Short answer: The PTB isn't out yet, so I'm gonna see how things develop before making any concrete decisions.
Long answer: Well this is certainly something interesting to look at. Mucho texto incoming, but I wanna put down a lot of my thoughts on the matter.
The idea that the Obsession can run headfirst into traps all the way across the map and remove STBFL stacks whenever they wish is definitely a bad look for Trapper. However, I'm not gonna take this time to complain and dread another perk being 'killed', instead I'll focus on finding alternatives for chase lethality perks that can still give me my gameplan for builds: Earlygame, Midgame, Endgame. The idea behind this philosophy is to have at least one (or two, depending on which perks I'm using) helping me out at every stage of the game, so it's possible to mount a comeback if survivors fumble harder than NFL teams in Tank Division, or from my own skill.
Of course, this build experimentation is going to be just in case we do have the new anti-Trapper meta being the Obsession literally running headfirst into every trap they see to keep STBFL stonks down. I doubt this will be commonplace should everything go through unchanged, but if it is, then Honing Stone might be Trapper's best add-on to run with STBFL, because at worst you'll have to deal with either a teammate helping the Obsession out of the trap (at least two people off generators) or them having some form of Unbreakable, or at best they'll be in the dying state and necessitate someone pick them up (also at least two people off generators).
Alternatively to meme, Padded Jaws could be funny for one anti-STBFL destacking attempt before the Obsession uses their fingers to disarm traps instead of their foot. All I know is that this indirectly nerfs Bloody Coil, since an Obsession with a self-healing build can run around and force injures while keeping themselves healthy. Downside to that plan will ultimately be one survivor wasting time to counter one of Trapper's most popular perks.
Ultimately, and most importantly, the PTB comes out tomorrow, and nothing is set in stone yet. All we have are first impressions. I don't have DbD on my laptop since I play on Switch these days, so the only thing I can do is wait for the midchapter to hit the live build. Until then, I'll be hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
P.S.: THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU'RE GIVING BILLY.

Note to self: Never again equip STBFL and bloody coil in the same build.

This issue with STBFL was a little bit of an oversight I think...They should just Piggyback off of the same coding as Play With Your Food, and have it be basic attacks and special attacks.
A change I would have liked to see though:
- Hitting a survivor with endurance does not benefit from the attack cooldown.
This would kill the ability to chew through endurance states and tunnel off hook with Rapid Brutality so easily. I feel like this instead of the speed nerf would be better.
We'll see what the PTB brings.

This doesn't seem like a bad idea, since I often found myself doing this - grab a stack from the survivor off hook and then go for the unhooker if they were in the area. This way I got a stack of STBFL, forced the unhookee to spend time mending, and go after a different survivor all at the same time. The proposed change you have here would disincentivize this as well as flat out tunneling with Rapid Brutality, which I can honestly live without.
Curious to see what comes of this PTB myself!

I won't run STBFL at all after this change, what means i will play significantly less Demo, Clown, Slinger, some more and will replace it with another slowdown since i don't have good chase perks anymore.
So, survivors, you can start all this post with "why it's always 3 same killers????", "why 4 slowdown every mathc????". Hello to the biggest streamer also, i guess, it's what he wanted.
