Accidentally vaulting or throwing pallet

One of the most annoying things in this game is when I'm trying to do something like disarm a trapper's trap or remove pinhead chains and end up throwing/vaulting a pallet instead.

Is there some method of avoiding this, or do I just have to accept that DBD is a bad game?
