Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Cheating in game

Hi,

I have a quick question is there any other way to report cheaters besides in-game report system like maybe here on DbD forum?

Google Dead by daylight player report. You should find a BHVR link where you can submit a ticket for BHVR games. From there, you can choose the game, player reporting, and provide any evidence including people able to attach images and small videos. If the video is too large, you'll need to provide a YouTube link to the video.

To add onto this, unfortunately BHVR reps have said here that you need to report people in-game first, and then send in any additional evidence using the form RP mentioned here. You can try submitting it online without the initial report, but you're probably out of luck :(

This system prevents people with the same name as cheaters being banned (for example, if a cheater changed their name to imitate a famous streamer to try get the streamer banned that wouldn't work) but it also runs into the problem you noticed

Fair point. However, if you provide your ingame player id (not name, actual player id) and the date of the match which are a part of the ticket submission fields, they should be able to still pull in the proper player ID of the offending player. They actually entirely removed the question from the ticketing system of "Did you provide a report ingame?"

I would imagine that their reporting system doesn't care about the player name. They can just pull up your match record and can cross reference the name you reported (even if they were anonymous) to the actual player ID behind the scenes which can't be changed by the player.

At least, that's how I hope it works. Otherwise, your statement would absolutely be a thing. I'm hoping it's not an issue considering they removed the ingame report question.
