How do you guys feel about the current state of the game
I am curious of what some people feel about the current state of the game, personally I like the game where it is currently but some would disagree I mean there are a few minor tweaks like bugs and hitboxes but on balance i'm not sure anyone else have any thoughts on current balance of the game?

It’s better for killers than it’s EVER been. Seriously idk how I put up with it before lol
meanwhile, a lot of survivors have had to learn to adapt to their nerfs or be wedded out. SWF is probably the direction this game seems to be headed.
Overall, it’s more balanced then it’s ever been but there’s definitely stuff that needs to be worked on/improved such as hitboxes, some infinites still, bloodlust (wether it’s necessary or not and how much/when should it activate), pallet/ hook minimum distance, etc.

to many freezes on load in for me. It's killed my interest to play.
And judging from the steam charts, I'm not the only one.

In terms of balance it is in the best state it has ever been, especially with the Decisive Strike change coming. But in terms of technical state it's quite poor. Freezes and infinite loading screens, people not making it into a match...

Too much toxicity. I'm not sold on the balance either. Killer seems too easy now. I often find myself 3-4k'ing without addons and using a joke perk set. Like I jokingly used Mad Grit,Shadowborn, Monstrous Shrine, and Territorial Imperative on Freddy and 4k'ed with 4 gens left.
It seems the better survivor players have either gone killer, or left all together.
BP grind is also a bit much lately.

You talking about me?

It's great, despite all the problems, mostly technical, like crashes, infinite loading, freezing.
Lots of complaints here in the forums may make it look like it's in a terrible shape, but it's just because we all tend to speak more about problems than what's good. Balance is great, still favors survivors, but I don't think the devs can go any further without risking the survivor/killer ratio, so it's okay. Toxicity is not a real problem, weaklings who can't take are free to leave and the ones with a sense of humour can stay.
And new content comes out about every three months. Even though sometimes it's not perfect, there's always something of value in there.

I have fun with my friends, and thats never changed. As long as i can still have fun with my friends i dont mind whatever happens.

Balance is better than it has ever been, however, what is the point of playing this game as the objective to it has never changed... ?
No new game modes, no mutations, no other types of objectives, maps are very similar and the only thing to do is grind BP... BORING!
Keep buying costumes tho.. that will make this game more fun.. 🤣

Better quality of life for Killers = more Killers = more lobbies = more fun
Post match killer hate solved by that little double arrow thing in the bottom right corner of post match text box [<<]

it's in a better place especially for killers but still not balanced. Survivors have 100% control over the game. Killer can do nothing about that! The only time killer has any say in how the game goes is when he faces bad survivors that don't know what they're doing. if u encounter 4 very good survs that can loop you and hit great skillchecks you're finished. Why do you think so many ppl play nurse? cuz she is the most viable killer, she is the only killer that can take the power role away from survs. And this is what is wrong with this game, the power role is not the killer, the power role is 4 survivors. Stupidly designed balance. Power role must always be the minority and you can only beat it if you work together. here 1 very good survivor can escape with ease. Either gens are done or he gets the hatch that has no counterplay on killer's behalf

The toxicity ruins it. Swf who tbag after every pallet and disconnect so their friend can get the hatch. People who have no interest in playing normally and only want to bring purple flashlight/decisive and run around annoying the killer.
Killers who have no interest in anything other than standing around the the hook of the first survivir they catch or just tunneling the first person to death as fast as possible.

Avoiding 98% of the toxicity by closing the chat is the best thing ever.
Combined with Killer feeling more fair than ever and i feel it's pretty good.
There's still unbalanced ######### in here though, all it takes is for someone to equip it...

everything is fine in my book, besides ping but we know about summer :)

The game itself is great, it's the garbage people you often have to play with that's the problem.

Solo survivor is just as frustrating as playing killer anymore so I'm taking a break for a bit. Haven't had a fun game in the past 2 or 3 months on killer or survivor, honestly. If one's not having fun, it's no longer a game... it's a chore.

Killer is fine to play now.
Solo Survivor is worse to play as than Killer nowadays.
Overall it's in a better state, but I really hope they start giving Solo Survivors some love soon. I barely play this game much anymore.

Game could be better with some quality life changes.
Balance wise it's alright but I still think that with the decisive strike changes there should have been changes to mori, too.
The report system really needs to be looked at because of how forgiving it is.

Toxicity is worse than ever, DCing in more than 50% of games, im taking a break right now =)

Maybe its time learning the game from the killer side and yyou might understand ;D

The game has improved immensely since this time last year. Lots of big balance changes to core mechanics, killer reworks, awesome new chapters, perk reworks slowly but surely. Game is in the best state it has been in for a long time. Also finally after years of agony with the next patch Decisive Strike is finally getting reworked into a perk that promotes healthy gameplay for both sides rather than being the bullshit get out of jail for free card it has always been.
Lots of work that still needs to be done tho and i dont think it will ever stop. In my opinion Dead By Daylight is the type of game that is going to constantly see changes and tweaks over its life span. I doubt it will ever reach a point in the near future where the devs can say the game is well and truly finished and stop updating it.

Imagine thinking DS is balanced, camping is a douche move sometimes but it doesn't happen every game so yea. Ruin OP LOL is this bait? Do some people really not play killer and survivor bc Ik me atleast just playing only survivor would bore me quick same with only playing killer. If you played both you might understand a bit more, a perk can't really be a buff to a killer there are only 4 perk slots. Spirit is a fine killer, Legion I am not going to state my opinion on Legion. Plague she hasn't come out of PTB yet stop judging it already. And the DS nerf it was needed 4 man ds squad is terrible to go against. Right now the game has been more balanced than it ever has in my opinion

Based on what I've heard about the game of old, I'd say it's definitely in a much better state than it has been in the past, but it still has some way to go.

Stopped reading at Hex: Ruin OP. You not only confirmed your bias in the first sentence but are also a hypocrite as you sound just like a crybaby.
Here is one harsh truth you must learn...

Anyone who claims to experience DCing in more than half their games is obviously either lying or trolling in game.

Well, Ruin is not OP. I cannot say that I like Ruin or that I would not enjoy if it is gone, but it has its purpose and it is far from OP. Even if you do not hit every Great Skill Check, you will get the Gen done. Just ignore Ruin and do your Gen.
Regarding Spirit Fury: You can read if the Killer has Spirit Fury. If he is jumping at every Pallet, you can assume that he has it and throw down the Pallet a little bit earlier. If you know that he has Spirit Fury (because he used it before), it is even easier. Of course being SWF helps more with that, but well...
Regarding the Killers mentioned:
Spirit-->Good Killer, strong, but not OP. Only thing that might need a change is Prayer Beads, should be pink instead of purple, but that is all.
Legion-->Yeah, it is garbage. I cant even get how they created it, someone must have created that pile of dung and was thinking "Oh, this looks good" after that...
Plague-->Well designed Killer, also strong, but not OP. Would rate her lower than Spirit, but still viable. And I had fun playing vs Plague on the PTB. Of course when you get caught in the open by her and get Broken immediatly, she can down you easily. But that goes for every Killer... E.g. Leatherface can down you easy when in the open, and nobody would say he is OP...
@Topic:
Balance-wise the game is good. Also creativity-wise it is fine. Ranking is too easy, but something will done about it.
Some technical issues are annoying. Loading Screens and crashes, really not enjoyable and happens far too often.
Also Hitboxes are horrible, especially Chainsaw and Hatchtes. While I get stuck on a Pebble, the Leatherface chasing me ignores Walls, Tyres and Trees. And Hatchets feel like they are 5 times bigger than they look like. And this is not only latency, though it will be better with the Dedicated Servers.

I think they've done a pretty good... Job so far.. :)

Ruin isn't op, it is one of the most used perks because of genrushing and plus it is a hex which means that it can easily be found in the first 5 seconds by survivors that have played for a decent amount and know totem spawns. Do you just want each game to last like 4 minutes because that is what would happen. Even with ruin gens can get super fast because as I mentioned before ruin is a hex totem. Legion I get where you are coming from. Spirit is an ok killer in my book she has 110% movement speed her strongest trait is her mind games you just have to learn how to predict your opponent at some points also.

You can ascertain the answer to the first question by reading the rest of their comments. I'd say it's quite obvious what the answer is.

Always on rank 1 as a survivor still thinks ruin is op, that's either a lie or a troll and if that isn't a lie or a troll than you should start playing some killer as you obviously don't it allows you to see the frustrations of both survivors and killers see if you change your mind

If ruin gets found in 5 seconds then how is it op hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??????????????
0 -
5 seconds is an exaggeration but I guess you wouldn't understand that it stalls the game for atleast 1 minute or 2 which is valuable time especially when survivors will be looking for the totem and not doing gens, which helps with getting genrushed

Hex: Ruin is a nice perk, but its mostly of a band-aid for gen rushing but its not completely broken. I've had games as killer and survivor where it was just powered through, all 5 gens in 3-4 minutes, ruin active. There are ways to counter Spirit, use a flash light to see if she's actually phasing(I think you can blind her out of phasing too). Spirit Fury is only really good if you combine it with Enduring(which is half your perks). Spirit Fury is a good addition to the game imo its really helped with greed in looping; throwing down a pallet early isn't the end of the world.
I've been a survivor main since forever, and you can't tell me that pallet vacuum, double pallets on loops and having sprint burst/dead hard active through chases was balanced.. It was absolutely horrible.
The only thing I'll really say is that the amount of dead zones on maps can be super big nowadays. I think this over-all really hurts novice survivors, especially when people just throw down pallets like they're nothing. The game is in a better spot now, both killer and survivor are pretty enjoyable.
