Broken AI of bots

In this text I will tell you about my annoyances about bots' broken AI.

•Bots are a kind of wallhack

I'm sure everyone who plays a killer knows this. Bots know where we are. Even if you do hiding your light or mind games while chasing on a covered pallete or window, the bot does not react to this and plays as if it knows where you are. And what I observed with this issue is this: If you are in an downed pallet or window, as soon as your distance to the side where the bot is located is less than the distance to the other side, the bot vault. It does it even if he doesn't see you.

• Broken use of flashlights

They are trying to blind you while driving on a straight road. Also, they don't try to blind you when breaking a pallet. This is why it is easier to catch a boat with a flashlight than others. Using flashlights in completely dysfunctional places.

•Do not detect body block

They don't understand that they are blocked. If there is a player hitbox where the bot is going, the bot does not change its path. It is stubbornly determined to leave his destination.

•Trying to hide

Trying to hide can sometimes feel like they are trying to get themselves killed. For example, you hit the bot and it goes and hides behind a stone at the edge of the map. Or they go into the closet while they are at chase with us. At the same time, there are free hit areas that make people think they are hiding when they are not in the chase and because their place is visible. Locker grabs are also available.

•They are incredibly cowardly

No bot takes hits for a teammate. If the hooked person is within the killer's TR, they do not approach that hook. Even when a bot is in endgame, with a teammate on the hook, it leaves the exit gate without even looking back.

•Imbalances

While some are capable of 5 gen looping, some cannot even last 3 seconds. I don't know if this is related to MMR, but while the bot I'm facing is good, the bot that replaces my teammate is terrible.

•Ability to detect the undetectable

Even if you stalk them from 40 meters away while playing Michael or Ghost Face, they can spot you. Also, even if you are an undetecteable killer, they leave when you approach them.

5 DCs in once a trial

If you are playing a killer and all the survivors are DC, and you do not want to play against 4 bots and you are DC, the game will not give you your BP, which you are entitled to, and you will also get banned. If this had been the case before the bots came, you would have been considered to have 4k.

•Using m2 for those who play well

A bot that plays well will outrun Huntress and Slinger after a certain distance. As Nemesis, it is very difficult to deal damage. While playing Pyramid, it does not take damage unless it is in an animation (Vault or Pallet dropping). That's all I observed, but there may be things I've forgotten. Don't forget to write about the AI's behavior that bothers you.

I'm glad you made this post. When trying to play against bots either thru DCs in game or custom to test a killer the bots feel like they are running constant hacks.

As you said they have perm wall hacks. I proved this on clown with the addon that shows auras with yellow bottle. I could see the bots aura behind a wall and every time i changed direction the bot would as well. It is next to impossible to mind game a bot at a big loop

I also feel that when I'm undetectable the bots always know where I'm coming from at all times. Its like their wall hacks persist and ignore undetectable killers.

M2 killers also have no chance. When testing the unknown in PTB i run it against bots as I'm not a fan of the 10 hour killer que times on ptb but trying to use unknows ability was pointless. Bots are always able to anticipate where to dodge as they do not have to worry about reaction times and can react the moment you click your m1 or m2 button

Now on the flip side the bots do make just stupid decisions which appear to have come from certain techs that survivors run.

For example Dumb Tech (vaulting back into the killer after a stun). A normal player will attempt this at certain situations as it usually pays off but recently bots have been attempting this at every single pallet stun. Its almost like the devs have programmed the bots to watch various youtubers who play DBD and have the bots act just like that.

They 100% cheat. Very easy to tell as Scratched Mirror Myers or other aura reading abilities. They do know where you are through undetectable but they simulate some level of slower reaction. They won’t run as quickly as they would if you had terror radius. They also know where projectiles or certain other things they shouldn’t know where they are heading before they can know this. Really noticeable as Trickster and can be used against them in this case since you can herd them into an m1 due to them treating the knives with higher value then the killer themselves.

If they were players you could easily report them for cheating which I feel is ironic. Having said that though bots have exploitable weakness and ultimately aren’t that good. They value vaults extremely highly and jump too soon using their wall hacks so you can get the entity to block a vault very quickly and get an easy hit.

Still as a survivor I’d prefer them to most solo queue team mates and really wish sometimes I could play games with a bot killer and bot survivors just for a break outside of the tutorial.

As survivor, I hate that bots play as the "lone wolf," which damns their teammates all too often. And they will open the exit gate first thing and run out. That's worse than useless, it's actually helping the killer in a lot of situations. What the hell do bots need the escape for? Why do they need that BP? I'd prefer bots collapse and go into the dying state once gens are completed rather than do that.

I recently watched a killer get stuck with a bot as the final survivor. It was a two-story building, and the bot got stuck in a never-ending loop, running back and forth at a pallet but not going anywhere, not looking for the hatch or anything, because of where the killer's TR was. It was amazing. (The bot did finally leave the area and get the hatch once the killer's position changed enough.)
