Why is Pain Res so free for so much value?

Exactly as title says. For a perk that gives you so much value, it really is painful how easy it is to get max value every single game.

It's like BHVR really said "If you can manage to get 4 hooks, we'll give you a gen for free"

Speaking as a surv main, this perk continues to be an absolute fun ruiner, and completely kills my willingness to keep trying for a match. Pair it up with DMS or Grim Embrace, and you'll have me begging for death at 5 gens in record speed. Really ruins the game.

    It's not free but it is too strong for the ease of use. I remember when it got changed and everyone said it was a dead perk, but it's the strongest gen regression perk in the game still.

    The only thing that irks me is it is great that it naturally discourages tunneling... but that tends to get ignored because it still works even after a player has been tunneled out, and is so much more devastating when there are only 3 players left.

    Might be nice since it's a "pain resonance"if it was changed to 6% gen regression for every survivor still alive in the trial... but then again that has the issue of rewarding rats... 😒

    Honestly as annoying as gen regression perks can be I find aura reading perks/add on and screaming perks/add ons much more annoying. I look at this that if a killer is chasing a very good looper and do not down them quick or at all , their gen regression perks is pretty useless specially if the other 2 or 3 survivors is on gens and all spread out. Also before anyone says do not worry I do run calm (which spirit+distortion for countering information perks before anyone jumps on me to run them.

    Exactly this! Still *hands down* THE strongest regression perk, and all it needs is 4 downs. Literally get 4 hooks and we'll just give you a free generator. Really sucks when every match is 6 gens, plus whatever else they've got. To boot, the nature of the value enhances it even further by specifically targeting the highest progression possible completely automatically. Stg this is even worse than old pop.

    Chase perks like coup where you have no way to know until they use it. Blood favor is pretty bad too, but at least it's a hex.

    Of course it is easy to get max value almost every game. Max value just requires 4 hooks on 4 different survivors.

    Would you rather the perk have no cap, would you rather the perk not incentivize spreading hooks and let the killer tunnel as they please??

    I like the perk. I'd love the perk if they buffed the regression percentage but also made it deactivate once a survivor dies so if you want full value you have to hook each survivor at least once before someone dies.

    I'm really starting to think that survivors don't want gen regression in this game at all. and if they do, they don't want it to be higher then Surge

    The changes Pain Res needs:

    • Better hook spawns / scourge placements
    • Deactivation on a survivor's death (if this is too much, at least deactivate if one survivor dies and no others have any hook stages)
    • Doesn't force survivors to scream and get off the gen to stop the lame pain res / grim / DMS combos

    Their really just needs to be a coolsown on the gen that pops with pain res can't have any other regression or blocked for the next 30 seconds so it stops all the synergy it has with 4 perk combo slowdown really and perk that. Does over 20 % regression should have a cooldown and as for pop I think they need to make this perk chase oriented so yest u can use it on ever hook but you have to get in chase with a diffrent person for so many seconds befor it comes off cooldown

    I don't think it is useful most of the time, unless killer can find the exploded gen.

    Pain res value = 22.5s each, but the hook location spend you more time to reach, or even unreachable.

    If it spends you 10 more seconds to reach and back, then it is nearly useless.

    Also the exploded gen not reveal their location, so survivor can repair the damage easily.

    DMS with Pain res only work one time because survivor know they should release gen right before hooking.
