Identity V vs Dead by Daylight

If you don't want to read all of this, ill just give my opinion straight away.

I think they are both great games, and honestly if they ever got together it would be the ultimate game

But lets get into it

I have played identity V before maybe 2 years ago, and i loved it but it was thinking of things both games do and there pros and cons.

Identity V ~

Pros: AMAZING CHARACTERS. I just love that survivors have their own power that makes them different and not just a skin. The killers are so unqiue to the point you really don't get bored of them. And thats the thing with DBD, we have so many running killers, M1 killers and trapping killers and it can get dull to vs and play as.

Game modes: they have a 2v8 system, of course some killers are locked because it would be downright unplayable or confusing if that happened. They also have a competitve mode which spices up the game, pretty good in my book.

Now things that Dead by daylight did better

Graphics: Well obviously. I dont really need to explain this one

Hooking/camping/tunneling: this is gonna sound weird, but if you thought DBD had campers and tunnelers that made you want to uninstall the game? Identity V is 100x worst. If you get hooked, best believe that you're dying and gonna get campedand tunneled to the point you can't escape.

Movements: I dont need to explain other than identity V has terrible movements.

Perks: pretty balanced compared to identity V. Even NOED looks good.

And thats about it, obviously I think DBD is better but I appreciate Identity V characters and killers.

How do you feel about identity V? And what things do you want to see in DBD?

Yes! Omg if you ever think dbd is utter garbage, just play one game of identity V and you will appreciate most of the stuff you got

I think if we compared gameplay, DBD would win. For skins, it would be ID5. For fanbase, DBD. For graphics, they’re both great. For level of horror, DBD. For lore, both win. I play both games and think they’ve both got pros and cons. I’d like it if they did a crossover, though it could result in ID5 getting banned in China.

Idv is the actually reason most camp on mobile

Only one thing that dbd and idv share is that both their clowns are gods.

I prefer DBD, but I will say that IDV has more interesting & frequent crossovers as well as killers.

And admittedly, I feel sort of opposed to playing it considering what a knock-off it is.

..also DBD has the cooler name.

I think it's just my biased opinion but I feel like IDV has smoother graphics. The art style is nice and there isn't much gore or horror, but the maps are very interesting and lore-filled. White Sand Street Asylum is hell to play on but haunted hospital with cool lore? I'll take it!

Also I think you forgot to mention lore. I'm not too familiar with DBD lore but it's pretty much an alternate dimension where people get sacrificed to The Entity, right? Boo boring where's the spice?? Why pick such a generic story when you can have a hunger games except everyone is high on drugs and are sorted all in the name of a social experiment??

I can talk a lot more but it's just whether you like western or asian styled horror. Western has much more visual and visceral horror, with blood and gore and the such. Asian, from experience at least, is much more psychological. Every single character in IDV has a great but honest to God confusing story, and they just tie really well to the game itself.

Idv only has two God characters who are Dream Witch, Yihdra and The Feaster, Hastur.

Sorry but Joker is NOT a god well he's dead in canon either way.

I started IDV way earlier than DBD. First time was like 4 years ago, then quit, then got back again, and the cycle repeats itself. (Although for now, i'm on the "quit" side). Here's my own point of view as an "OG" IDV player.

Characters/lore: Just like you said, IDV has better characters, specifically, survivors. Just like you've mentioned, I love how they all have their own powers/abilities, not just equipping an item like a medkit, toolbox or flashlight. Basically, the survivors have their own talents, just like the killers themselves. That's the main part that makes IDV better in that topic. Not to mention how their backstories or just lore of the game overall are really deep and actually depressing/melancholic, unlike DBD, who's still leaning more onto the "scary" side. Not saying DBD lore is all rainbows and cupcakes, but I just think IDV has more of those dark, nostalgic vibes and atmosphere; the late 19th era makes it all even better.

Modes: Don't forget how IDV also has the 2v8, called "duos hunters" (which basically would be "duos killers" for us DBD players). I think I made a post about how DBD should add this game-mode: to sum it up, it'd be way more interesting to have a new game mode that wouldn't be like a week limited only, but like temporary. Of course, IDV has that weird way of opening those game-modes at specific time of the day/night, but hey, at least you don't have to wait a whole year for that mode to return again. Not to mention, I love how you can buy different carrying items during the match for the current points (bloodpoints) you have; the killers can do so, too. It also has other modes, not just the 2v8; such as the tarot mode, hide and seek, blackjack(cards), or even some racing parkour one. It's just very diverse when it comes to trying out a more-different way of playing than the casual 4v1 one that can get boring pretty fast. Seriously, can DBD make an ACTUAL new game-mode, not just some cheap one that's open for like only a few days?

Graphics: DBD of course. Well, only because it's more realistic. I think IDV has its own unique style and design, but sometimes those textures/quality are just so 3D pixel-y and "cheap", that I wish they'd work on them a bit more. Would be more satisfying to look at, not gonna lie.

There's a lot of better or worse categories you could talk about for hours, but those are the ones that i'm mostly invented in. In a shorter way, here's the fewer ones:

Skins: IDV>DBD (Sometimes IDV skins may be pretty "childish" and not very horror-themed or "serious", but they're just still better at styling and making outfits. Sadly, IDV cares way more about the skins than the game itself at this point, though.)

Lobby: IDV>DBD (I think it's neat how you can walk around the lobby, being able to even style your own house instead of just staring at your standing character next to the campfire. Not like they should change that right away, just saying how IDV has more mechanics and options to certain things.)

The biggest part I hate about IDV is the ms…who doesn't love getting as high as to 999 while in a chase, which eventually results in you losing the match in just 10 seconds? They REALLY should work on this part. The most, even.

I watch my friend play ID V and I always enjoy him playing it. So far it seems that on ID V (least what I see on his stream) there is rarely any tunneling/camping compared to dbd. It does not feel like something to get upset as easily as dbd is, meaning it do not seem they have a rank system?

2 v 8 is so nice and the little things he can do while waiting on a match is awesome. Feels or looks far less toxic as there is no BMING like there is on dbd from either side. Honestly I was tempted to give it a go however he said it does not has a controller feature which made me opt out of it xD.
