why is the PTB 32 GB to download on Steam?
it wasn't like that in the past, but why is it now? is it cuz there is a lot of new stuff in this PTB?

My best guess is that it's the store overhaul, somehow.
Doubt it's gonna be this big on live, though.

The Twins rework took them 2 years. I expected nothing less. /j

Apparently they updated the Engine to UE5.

oh? That sounds good i guess?

Really?
Where'd you get that from?

I honestly dont know. Giving their track record with Bugs and stuff like that I am more worried than anything.

Oh heck… I hope the next update won't be that big on the Switch. Pretty sure I don't have the extra space for an update that huge. I don't know much about the differences between the two engines, but I'm hoping it means better optimisation for the older / low powered platforms.

birb time
and what is this ptb about? is it just a midchapter?

I hope they drop those platforms. They hold us back.

The Twins update is the big highlight in this one, as well as the store overhaul.
As for the birbs, I have no good reason to hijack this thread, since this is just someone asking a question. Plus, I have my own thread in off-topic now.

It is not 32GB bigger, it is 32GB big. So you wont need more space on your Console, the 32GB replace and do not add.

The game is made in unreal. Unreal has a notorious problem of small changes sometimes needing you to just redownload the whole game.

I cannot disagree more, for obvious reasons. There would be lots of ill feelings if they did and more importantly, lots of unhappy customers too (including this one).
It's actually about 14 GB on my Switch (but I think it's 20 GB fully downloaded without a physical game card).
So long as it's not much bigger than that, I should be OK.

I dont know how the game is compressed on Switch, but on PC I have currently 40GB. So if it is 32GB, it would actually be smaller.
So I doubt it will go up a lot on Switch.

Even if its too much. You can always just get a micro sd card to help with that i believe.

Surprised they are not making a bigger deal around Unreal5.

Will this affect things like Maddeningfields House of Lag?

looks like its version 5.2.1 and I've noticed its been super smooth ingame, fps is constantly at 120 with 0 stuttering compared to before. It normally isnt steady at 120 and drops but hasnt.

You do know most of the playerbase is on the consoles, something like 70% and globally around half of them are still on the older machines. Can the game afford to lose so many players?
Also this is a live service game, meaning unless those consoles cannot physically run this game any longer at all they have to support them so long as Nintendo and Sony and Microsoft all do. So a year or two more I'd say.
