vpn killers and anonymous cheaters
- The number of VPN killers is significantly increasing since 2023, guess what, hit validation is still a joke as of 2024. Lots of Asian players connect to US server to take the advantage of bad ping. Dev, if letency is a problem you can not resolve, then either ban vpn players or show everyone's ping in lobby like before please. : )
- What's the point of anonymous mode? I believe 95% of player would agree it protects cheaters rather than streamers. : ) Remove it please.
BHVR acknowledges these problems but just refusing to get them resolved, stop wasting your time on those reworks, look at those posts in ptb section, 90% are not happy with your genius ideas. There's tons of bugs/issues waiting to be resolved : )

Anonymous mode does nothing to protect cheaters. You report them with an in game ticket and show evidence of the cheating (video call, screenshot etc.) They can see the player ID using the in-game report.

Yeah its wild, theres someone on twitter pretending to be a fog whisperer at the moment as well. Using DBD to grow their platform. Seems like they dont mind. Wild to me.

Report system is a different topic, let's not dive deep into it.
We are talkiing about Anonymous mode, most of the cheaters are using it to cover themselves, Anonymous mode does help A LOT.

You brought the claim that it protect cheaters. I explained that it doesn't. Cheaters that get reported don't have any less protection against getting banned than people who make their name public. It literally makes no difference to the devs if you report the anonymous player, they can't hide behind it when the report will give the devs their player ID.

I didn't say "protect" = "not get banned", so let's not talk about report system anymore, it is totally different.
I said they rob the bank with a mask, and BHVR is providing those masks for free. Normal players got ######### on by those cheaters, but we can not even see their IDs, profiles, comments, add them, dodge them in the lobby, isn't it kind of protections?
Hiding those information from others is apprently protection.Post edited by Rizzo on1 -
I just dogde any red pings and anon names.
If someone has TTV in their name you can be 90% sure they aren't streaming atm anyway, at least in my exp.

I never said, "protection" = "less chance to be banned".
Imagine as a normal player, you got a cheater in your game, then what? Does report system guarantee you will never be put into the same lobby again? If I can see their steam id, their profile, I can definitely dodge them easily.
Now BHVR is hiding their information, all I can do is hoping devs can get them banned asap(which is another joke) and they will not be in my lobby. They rob the bank with a mask, and BHVR is selling the mask for free : ) Isn't that kind of protection?

If killer has red ping, we can not dodge unfortunately. Hope devs can do something.

The masks are most likely sold by epic. 🙄

It doesn't help them at all, anon mode only hides their identity from you, not from BHVR

I play NA from Australia a lot (west coast NA) but I only play survivor which puts me at a disadvantage as I constantly get hit 10 feet through windows, or pallets drop and then I get hit.
But ping limits on killer should be in place, as VPN users from China (which is what I mostly run into on NA servers) could connect to servers closer to them where their ping would be high but acceptable. So I have to assume they are indeed exploiting high ping intentionally to give themselves advantages.

Most players I face are not on the same system as me. How am I to check their profile?

How could they even know if a player is using a VPN in the first place?
